My wife's Honda Pilot was due for the dreaded Timing Belt/Spark Plug service and I knew it was going to cost a lot. The day I was ready to take it in (a week after I made the last payment), she told me Belt/Spark Plug service and I knew it was going to cost a lot. The day I was ready to take it in (a week after I made the last payment), she told me the VSA light came on during her drive to work. I took it to O'Reilly's and got the code read and did some Googling to find the VTEC Spool valve was bad based on the fact that I was bad about getting the oil changed regularly (sludge builds up in the valve over time). I took it to Frank Ancona, told them what I needed done and about the code. They gave me a loaner and called me alter that day to say the spool valve was clogged, they tried cleaning it but it was done for. I was happy they tried to R&R (Remove and Repair) the part, but I already had an idea of what I was looking at. I told them to replace it and proceed with the A4 service (Oil Change/Timing Belt/Spark Plug/Valve Adjustment). The next morning they called and said that there was a gasket/seal that was getting ready to fail inside the timing belt housing. It hadn't failed yet, but was starting to develop condensation around it and could go in the near future. They gave me the option of fixing it then for $100 or waiting. I asked how much it would be to fix later and was told that it would be $500 with all the labor to tear it back down to where they were already plus any damage if the leaking oil caused the new timing belt to fail). So, it was no brainer to replace it. They had the part in stock and I did little more googling to find out it's a common failure and gets replaced a lot during this time. They were able to get everything back together that day and the wife's car runs just as good as new now. The price was less than I expected for everything they had to fix and having the loaner vehicle for 2 days was a plus with both of us working and kids to pickup/drop off/take to soccer everyday. Very happy with the dealership. More
I purchased a 2006 Honda Certified Pre-Owned Accord from this dealership. I was facing quite a number of issues with it and after posting a rather lengthy negative comment I felt it appropriate to update. this dealership. I was facing quite a number of issues with it and after posting a rather lengthy negative comment I felt it appropriate to update. I recently had a conversation with the General Manager, Mr. Jason Heard. This man has been tasked with turning a dealership around and he is trying and succeeding if I may add. After reading of my complaint and making contact he offered to buy the car back from me. I threw in a curve-ball and advised that I had already tagged, titled, and licensed the vehicle to which he said, "That's ok." This guy was serious. That was his first offer. I sit on a few boards in and around the metro. I was speaking of my experience and when I spoke of his willingness to buy the car back from me...quite a number of my colleagues were floored if not pretty amazed. Mr. Jason Heard is a man of reverance. He is someone who will make right on whatever it is you would like. I more than recommend this dealership after working with Jason. I may add that Jason was personally courted by Mr. Frank Ancona himself to come on-board and turn the dealership around. Kudos Jason...you're doing a wonderful job! More
I had a wreck in March that blew the right side suspension and wheels out after slamming into a curb and brought it to them. They shipped my car out for body work at another body shop. After rece suspension and wheels out after slamming into a curb and brought it to them. They shipped my car out for body work at another body shop. After receiving my car back it still wasn't fixed. After 5 times of bringing it back to that shop they told me to take it back to Ancona. It was there from the beginning of November until today-the day after the SuperBowl-GO PACKERS!! It was out of there shop only when I had no other choice because I had to have my vehicle, or they said it was done and it wasn't. I was told "We're guessing here and swapping out all the parts that rotate, I don't know what else to do man." I am no mechanic, but that doesn't seem to be the most proficient, or professional way to go about assessing damage to a vehicle does it? In replacing both axles, and the steering column it made the problem far more apparent. There is still a shimmy in the vehicle after all of the work that they did, and now it is in worse condition than when I brought it to them. They have told me to take it elsewhere and get a second opinion. I bought my other Honda that I have had for 11 years and always had the work done at Oniel Honda. So now I will take it to a dealership that I have always found to be professional, proficient, and timely. I would not recommend taking any type of vehicle that needs anything other than regular maintenance to Ancona. Even though they are 5 minutes from my house vs. 25 for Oniel I will always be taking any further issues with my vehicles to Oniel, ask for Dave-he will take care of you. It isn't that Ancona was unkind or had been nasty but rather the level of service, and turn around time for repairs falls far short of complete or expectations. Good luck. More
You won't find a better place to purchase your new Honda vehicle. The dealership truly cares about the customer and the experience of the customer in making a purchase. In addition, we received top-dollar vehicle. The dealership truly cares about the customer and the experience of the customer in making a purchase. In addition, we received top-dollar for our trade. This is the second Honda Accord my wife and I have purchased from Frank Ancona. We came back because we were so pleased with our first car and buying experience. We also have been impressed with the purchased from Frank Ancona. We came back because we were so pleased with our first car and buying experience. We also have been impressed with their service department. Dave Jewell, our salesperson (whom we had never met before stopping in), was friendly and laid back, but very knowledgeable . . . exactly the kind of person we like to deal with. We all know how grueling the car buying process can be . . . a big decision, and then the haggling . . . but Dave made it enjoyable. He also followed up as he said he would. He had our car ready, on time, with the windows tinted when we came to pick it up. He even called us a couple days later to make sure everything was going well. The entire process was well organized and professional, so we could once again tell the dealership was well-managed (much moreso than other dealerships we've encountered). The other thing that brought us back was the quality of the product. We drove our first Accord for over 7 years, put on 186,000 miles, and the car still looked and ran great! In all that time and mileage, we just kept up on the standard maintenance, and nothing else went wrong. That's quality, and that's why we chose another Accord, even after aggressively shopping the competition who have improved, but in our opinion still don't match Honda's quality. I highly recommend Frank Ancona Honda, and Dave Jewell. And I do want to add that the other salespeople were very friendly to us, and it seemed like the other customers there were pleased, as well. I took my 1999 Honda prelude here to find out why it was having performance issues. Before i took it in I thought it was running rich for some reason and i wanted to know for sure. I left the car there and having performance issues. Before i took it in I thought it was running rich for some reason and i wanted to know for sure. I left the car there and they called a couple hours later and told me that my engine was "shot" and that i needed a new one. This seemed very fishy to me so i called the next day to ask exactly how they came to that conclusion. They said they ran engine diagnostics and determined that i had "terrible" compression and that the spark plugs were dirty. Still not knowing what to do i took it to my uncle who is a lifelong mechaninc and he and his boss took a look and determined that i was indeed running too rich and fixed the issue immediately. Furthermore they said that i had excellent compression numbers and clean spark plugs. Please do not take your vehicle to Frank Ancona unless you want to be directly lied to and decieved just because they dont want to do any real work on your car. I am extremely unhappy with my entire experience. More
