I was indecisive, had a strict budget, and was comparing offers from several other Honda dealers in the area. Alex responded to all my concerns and questions with very clear language. We had about 20 emails back and forth by the end. Alex stood out as the most knowledgeable and helpful and in the end had the best offer of all the other sales persons who I had contact with. The price Alex and I finally agreed to in email was honored when we arrived at the dealership (that hasn't always been the case at other Honda dealerships in the KC area). We did run into an unexpected glitch with turning in our lease, but that wasn't any fault of the Olathe dealership. But Alex was very patient as I recalculated numbers and weighed my options. (See further down for details of the glitch.) Brookelynne, the tech who took us for a test drive and helped us with the intial paperwork, was knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. We came in close to when they were closing time but she didn't rush us at all. She took time to answer all our many many questions about the vehicle and answered them with a smile! We ended up keeping Alex and Brookelynne almost two hours past closing on New Year's Eve, and a good hour past all other customers left, but they were happy and helpful even after we signed the paperwork. For six months I had been working with several Honda dealers in the area. I have been leasing Hondas for the past 9 years and had always had a good experience. This was the first time it ever became complicated at the end of my lease. Honda Financial services suggested that I extend my lease for 12 months and said it would be considered "month to month" so I could turn it in at any point. That's what I did and I kept a lookout for deals but hadn't been coming up with anything comparable to what I had been paying on my current lease. Lesson learned...it is not considered month to month in that the end of each month could be considered the end of the lease. I was penalized for turning in my lease early ...a $700 fee. But again this is not any fault of Alex or Honda of Olathe. And overall, I felt it was a good enough deal on the new vehicle lease to justify paying the $700 fee. More

Best experience in a long time Most of the time when I think about the new car purchasing process, I associate it with a root canal, maybe even worse. However, for the first time ever, I had not only a good experience at Olathe Honda, I had an exceptional experience. I also had the experience of using the "Express Buying" process, and what a fantastic service that was....I literally chose the vehicle I was interested in purchasing, submitted photos of my current vehicle as a trade-in, and completed the financing application from the convenience of my home. When the was complete, they asked me what time could I come in to pick up my new vehicle. Upon arrival to the store, they did a confirmation of my trade-in to verify it was the condition I indicated in the express buying process. I signed some papers, and headed out. I worked with three individuals, all who were extremely helpful, pleasant, and provided excellent service (Alex VanAckeren, Marisa Guerrero, and Katie Wilson - thank you to all of you!). It is also the Christmas season, as a nice little extra perk, they provided me with a red bow to put on the car to surprise my wife...and they even asked me to send them photos/videos of her reaction. Olathe Honda - you hit this one out of the park, I will definitely use you for future vehicle purchasing. More
Not a good experience! Waited too long to finish the lease of my car. Told that all was ready and just come and sign for car. When I arrived my credit had not been run and which I thought was done the 1 Day I came in. It seemed that the financial p pole we not on the ball. Some didn’t know the process for doing lease by the banks. For some one who has great credit the process felt like I had a very low credit score and they were trying to get me in to a car that I over qualified for! More

This is exactly what happened at Honda of Olathe yesterday. Thanks again to Dave Heitman (GM) and Tom Olson (Sales) for assisting us through the trade-in and buying process. This is the reason why this is the second Honda we purchased from this dealership. Excellent service, professional sales people, and a no-pressure attitude is what we expected and what we received. Between my son and me, we have bought eight cars from him over the years. We keep returning because of Dave's honesty and integrity. He never forces the issue and lets us make our decisions without exerting undue pressure. He makes test drives enjoyable and fun, reducing the stress of the car buying experience. An example of his tailoring his sales technique to the individual customer is my most recent purchase of a 2018 Honda HRV. I had bought an Accord from him previously and was planning on buying another Accord; however after having two total joint replacement surgeries, I was no longer as flexible and agile. He suggested that I try to get in and out of the Accord on the showroom floor. Not good! Next, he encouraged me to check out the HRV on the display floor. I fell in love with the car and test drove both the LX and EX version and decided upon the latter. I especially liked the ease of entering and exiting the car and the improved vision from a higher vantage point. I get lots of compliments on my new car (I had two men ask me about it just today!). I am very happy with my new car. Dave even took time recently to answer some questions I had on the car's gadgets. He was very patient and did not make me feel stupid..
