I recently purchased a automobile from Honda of New Rochelle. The price was great and that is the ONLY reason I never walked out the door. My salesman, Eddie was really nice and overly pleasing, but co Rochelle. The price was great and that is the ONLY reason I never walked out the door. My salesman, Eddie was really nice and overly pleasing, but consistently made false promises about having the car ready and lied about Honda Certification standards. As I test drove the used car, I asked if the wheels and brakes were replaced. He said all certified cars have both automatically replaced which is a total lie - the were not replaced. When I agreed to buy the car, the buying order had an admin fee of $395 which was never discussed (which is also BS). The manager, Alfred, told me it was for a second detailing, full tank of gas and scratch touch ups and basically told me to leave if I didnt want to pay. When I finally bought the car, it took four 4 days for the dealership to get it ready and the scratches were never touched up, I did NOT have a full tank of gas and the floor mats were missing. The only positive from this experience were the Receptionist, Iris and the finance person, Mohamed Latif. More
My experience with Honda of New Rochelle began over the internet when I inquired about a used 2008 Pontiac G6 that they had in their inventory. I scheduled an appointment with their internet department to internet when I inquired about a used 2008 Pontiac G6 that they had in their inventory. I scheduled an appointment with their internet department to come in the following evening at 6PM to test drive the vehicle. It seemed as though it was exactly what I was looking for; a Pontiac with a V6, features I wanted , the color I wanted and the price I wanted (listed at $12,995). The next morning a very friendly young lady called me to confirm the appointment, told me who my salesman was and said the car would be washed and ready for me to test drive when I got there. This all sounded pretty good and I left my house with every intention of purchasing this car. When I arrived at the dealership the car I came to look at was sitting in the front line of the dealership, absolutely filthy and unable to be driven without moving 3 other cars. So much for having the car ready for me. Even though this was the exact opposite of what they said they were going to do, I got over it and met with my salesman who was very friendly in the beginning and seemed very excited at the fact that I actually showed up for the appointment I scheduled. The sales manager wasn't as excited, and seemed annoyed at the fact that I actually wanted to test drive a car before I bought it. He said that there was "another one of these things over there and why don't you just drive that one because it's the exact same thing." I told him "absolutely not" and with a sigh and a groan he had a few bored salesmen move the cars blocking the G6 out of the way. While my salesman was scanning my driver license I gave this car a good inspection inside and out and I was thoroughly unimpressed. My 2005 Saturn with 96,000 miles was in far better condition in all aspects compared to this car. It had chrome wheels and every single one of them was scratched along with both bumpers, the doors, the fenders, etc. There were stains on the seats, the carpets looked like they were never, ever vacuumed and the layer of dust on the dash made it look extra classy. Of course I was reassured the car would be detailed completely before I took delivery. The car seemed alright at first. No squeaks or rattles, drove nicely on the highway except for a little vibration in the steering which could be easily fixed. It was when we got off the highway and onto surface streets that the car's faults began to show. While making a slow, sharp turn you could hear and feel a horrible popping noise in the steering. My salesman dismissed it as being low on tire pressure. I told him no dice, the car's got a tire pressure monitoring system and the noise is coming from the electric power steering. He then, so intelligently explained that "this car is American, it doesn't have those things." I laughed off his stupidity, called him an expletive and drove like a lunatic back to the dealership. When we pulled back into the lot, my salesman told me to pull my Saturn up to the door so they can evaluate it for a trade and jumped out of the car like his ass was on fire so he could catch a sports score. I was curious to see what they'd give me for my car because I had it appraised elsewhere and I was offered a ridiculously low number, so I parked it where he asked and went inside and informed him that I was, in fact not going to be buying this car and asked if they had any V6 Accords in stock. He then presented me with a credit application and questioned my reasoning behind wanting a V6 as instead of a 4-cylinder. I told him that I prefer a V6 and one of my other cars is an Acura TSX with a 4-cylinder and I feel like it's sluggish sometimes. He, again, inteligently informed me about how an Accord 4-cylinder is way faster than my TSX (even though it's a heavier, larger car with less horsepower) AND my Saturn (which has a Cadillac V6 under the hood). Whatever. He then went on to tell me about how Saturns are such awful cars and aren't worth anything at all. Yeah, I think I'll give $17,000 to these people. After roaming their lot for about 45 minutes waiting for their sales manager to give me the appraisal on my Saturn, we go back into the dealership to find out he hasn't even looked at my car because he "hasn't had a free moment" but has miraculously found the time to talk about what he is going to have for dinner on his cell phone. When I went to my salesman to get my keys back, he was sitting behind his desk slamming drawers and belting out expletives about not being able to find his umbrella while he threw dirty food containers and towels onto his desk. Risking being pelted by a Ziploc food container, I snatched up the photocopy of my license and my customer worksheet (which read $15,995 for the G6 vs. the $12,995 that was posted online, by the way) and got the hell out of there like MY ass was on fire. In conclusion, these people are clowns and this dealership was their circus; unless you like ridiculousness, don't waste your time. More
I came from far away to deal with this dealership because they were one of the few dealers who were upfront and honest about what cars they have. They gave me a good price the first time I asked with no hagg they were one of the few dealers who were upfront and honest about what cars they have. I walked in to this dealership simply to look around at what was out there. After spending some time with Jamie, the salesman, he explained all options regaurding financing and leasing of Honda Accord EXL what was out there. After spending some time with Jamie, the salesman, he explained all options regaurding financing and leasing of Honda Accord EXL that I decided to purchase due to amount of miles I due per year. He completly was the best salesman I have ever encountered giving me ever which way and option and leaving the decision making up to me with no pressure! but he closed me simply because of his honestly and integrity. To top this all off, Sajjad the finance manager was equally as accomidating to all my needs. This is definatly a woman friendly dealership for consumers such as myself who usually get hassled. i recommend them 100% More
This dealer is awesome!! From the moment I stepped foot in the dealership I was comfortable and their was a great vibe with all the staff. My salesman Jamie was terrific and the rest of the staff was very in the dealership I was comfortable and their was a great vibe with all the staff. My salesman Jamie was terrific and the rest of the staff was very friendly, informative, and helpful! They were honest and upfront and beat three competing dealers with the price by over $1,000. I see there are usually complaints by people on these sites and just thought it would be nice to show the positive feedback as well because this dealer definately deserves it. They are the largest dealer around and sell the most cars...they must be doing something right. I already recommended Honda of New Rochelle to 2 of my co-workers and they both ended up buying cars from Jamie with the same great experience. Definately consider this dealer if your in the market for a Honda! More
I was a little put off by the average rating on this dealer, but I visited it anyway, primarily in search of a good price for a Honda Fit Sport (2008 Model). All four dealers I consulted (Yonkers, White dealer, but I visited it anyway, primarily in search of a good price for a Honda Fit Sport (2008 Model). All four dealers I consulted (Yonkers, White Plains, Yorktown, and New Rochelle) quoted prices within $200 of MSRP. New Rochelle had the lowest price, and Shawn was friendly but not sleazy. The other dealers would not match the price, so I went to N.R. I never have had a smooth transaction in the purchase of my other cars (all Hondas): either the car was not ready on the delivery date, or I was forced to buy option, or there were hidden fees. I asked Shawn to be straightforward about all price items, and he was. The car was delivered on time, and I got $100 off the final price. I paid cash, and the finance manager (Mohammed) was corteous and not pushy. I might have haggled a bit more and extracted another $100 off the final. However, the price was right and so was the service. More
They are crooks, plain and simple, they promised me one price on a Hybrid then tried to dupe me into paying more, saying it had something to do with my credit. They made me wait over a month for the car to price on a Hybrid then tried to dupe me into paying more, saying it had something to do with my credit. They made me wait over a month for the car to come in and then on the day I was supposed to pick it up they told me the price had changed, never bothering to tell me about before this. They also knew I had a previous lease that had to be turned in and knew I would be in a difficult position. I gave them many different options in terms of paying a bit more for this car than originally promised even got a co-signer for the loan, since they said it was a credit issue. That still didn't get them to sell me the car. They had me call Honda Financial Services who said it was a dealer issue and not theirs, financial was not helpful either. I came to find out that they sold this car to someone else for a higher price. I spent the better part of 5 days on the phone trying to figure this out, the only recourse consumers like you and I have it to rate them on sites like this and call corporate (1-800-999-1009), even though corporate can't do much initially it will affect their rating over all and they may not get the newest cars first etc. Every complaint that is documented goes against them. Stay away from this dealer, I actually wound up buying a non Honda product and also had to pay another $400 dollars to extend me lease because of this dealership's actions. They also still owe me the initial deposit I put down and have yet to return it. They are crooks, liers and cheats do not go to this dealership, I wish I had checked this site before going there! Stay away from Honda of New Rochelle, they are totally not worth your time and money. This is my true experience. I wish I had read this online forum before I went – everything said here was repeated in m not worth your time and money. This is my true experience. I wish I had read this online forum before I went – everything said here was repeated in my experience: - I was emailing a couple of dealerships to negotiate price for a Honda CR-V. They called me to say they can offer an attractive price and they have 0% financing. - I and my husband each called them several times speaking with different personnel to verify that the 0% financing is available for a Honda CR-V, since we heard from other dealerships that they offer 0% for models of Honda cars other than CR-V, since CRV is a hot car. New Rochelle said yes. - We went, and of course, that was just a gimmick to get people to their dealership. We expressed our anger. The manager offered an additional $100 discount. And since we already made the trip there, and we have been shopping around for a while we believe their price was reasonable, we signed the contract. They promised the car is in delivery and will arrive during the next 3-4 days. - Then started the long waiting: 1 week, no car arrived; 2nd week, no car arrived. I needed the car to drive to my new job starting the following week, so I could not wait any longer. I called them repeatedly, they kept saying it’s arriving soon – it’s a delivery problem. That’s when I started getting suspicious and googled “Honda New Rochelle”. Alas, did I find a lot people with similar experience! They would sign a contract to take a customer “off the market”, to keep them from buying a car from other dealerships. Then they will deny the delivery using all kinds of excuses. - I don’t want to risk not having a car to drive to work, so bought a Honda from another dealership. They agreed to cancel the contract due to their inability to deliver. No compensation was offered. They were also very slow in sending back our deposit money. I had to call a couple of times to have the check sent back to me. We will see if they keep their promise this time! (If they eventually don’t send it back, I am fully prepared to take further actions against them). This is my experience, bloody and true. So if you want to do yourself a favor, skip this dealership and move on to another. If you call them, on their phone greeting message, they are still taunting the May Day 0% financing for Every Honda car. Blant and thick-skinned liar. Don’t trust them and don’t go. And tell anyone you know who are considering this dealership to stay away from them. You will be grateful that you did. More
