I decided t vehicle. Anthony, the salesperson was absolutely wonderful. He showed me a few vehicles that fit my interests, and we test drove them. I decided that i wanted to go ahead and purchase. I left a small deposit of $500. I was told that this was required so that they could 'hold' the vehicle for me while my loan application was being processed. My plan was to make a $5000 down payment, and trade in my toyota camry. My loan on that vehicle had a significant balance left over, so I was prepared for the possibility of them asking for more money down. What i was not prepared for was the way that I would be treated the next time i went back to this dealer. I got a call the 2 days later stating that they had gotten me approved. All i had to do was bring the rest of my down payment and sign the papers and I could take my car home. When I asked about the terms of the loan, I was told to speak to Ike, the 'finance guy'. I spoke to Ike, and he brushed me off and told me to just come in and we would talk then. I went back to the dealer on Thursday 2/17/2011 and met with Ike. He showed me the paperwork and then told me that if I took the car home that day, my monthly payment would be around $620/month. my max amount that i was willing to pay per month was $450. I knew that I would need to put more money down, and I was prepared to do so. Before I could even offer this remedy, Ike tells me that the vehicle that I selected wasn't able to pass inspection, and that I could get another car, but it had to come from THEIR dealership because he called in a 'favor' and got me approved. I was also told that I would not get approved anywhere else. I have never heard such b.s. in my life. He then tried to get me to take other vehicles that had twice the mileage and less features than the vehicle that i had originally chosen. And i know that there was nothing wrong with the vehicle because I had three friends inquire about the same vehicle over the next few days, and they were told that if they came in, they could test drive it!! If he would have just been up front with me and told me the situation, I would have given him the extra money required in order for me to get the vehicle that I wanted. I called another dealership and told them that I had already been approved. I went to their dealership at 9 am the following morning, and drove away in a new vehicle around 3pm the same day. Not only were they able to contact the bank and use the same 'special approval' that Ike had 'begged' for, but they were also able to get me a FAR more reasonable interest rate. I am now driving the car that I wanted.....no thanks to Honda of New Rochelle. Ike called me that same evening to offer me another vehicle that I had absolutely no interest in. When I told him that I purchased from another dealership, he went on to trash talk the other dealership and told me that they must have scammed me because he offered me the best deal possible (real proffessional, by the way Ike). I asked him when I could stop by to get my $500 deposit back. He told me that he would put it back on my card immediately. The money is still not there. Looks like I'll be taking a ride over there this afternoon. More
I was referred to the General Manager JR Buchbinder and he was fantastic. JR and his entire staff were polite, professional and knowledgable! I definitely recommend this dealer. The managers do not hide behind closed doors and are involved in everything. It was a nice change to deal with a dealership with such high regards for customer satisfaction. The prices were better than expected!! More
I've been in their showroom and their service department. The scores I've given them are an average between the two because the categories overlap. (Is customer service service on the deal or on the car or The scores I've given them are an average between the two because the categories overlap. (Is customer service service on the deal or on the car or both?) The service department is good and reliable. We've had Hondas for years and go to them for warranty work and some post-warranty major repairs (not all, as our regular mechanic is quite good). The sales department, however, is dreadful. They are our local dealer, and it's more convenient to buy from them. But we've given up trying to deal with their sales department. They've pulled price manipulation that seemed less than professional. It was like haggling in a bazaar, with pointless drama, rather than an intelligent discussion aimed at finding a price reasonable to both sides. Things like their dismissing the Consumer Reports pricing data as unreliable and refusing to give even the Galves price for a used car trade in. (Galves is a used car value estimator, like Kelly Blue Book, except that it estimates a price much lower than other such services. Another dealer once confessed to me that Galves exists to provide dealers with a bargaining chip by underpricing the other services. A dealer who won't give at least the Galves price for a used car in good condition is doing something strange.) When buying Hondas we now go to other dealers, whose sales people negotiate in a more professional manner. More
I would HIGHLY recommend this dealership to my friends and co-workers. In fact I have done so already. I had every single question answered in a timely fashion and had no other questions when I got my ca and co-workers. In fact I have done so already. I had every single question answered in a timely fashion and had no other questions when I got my car. I feel that one of the main reasons was that the Business Manager, MR.JONATHAN STRAHL was so thorough! I have been buying and or leasing Hondas for many years and would never go to any other dealership. Honda of New Rochelle is the best!! (this is 3rd time I have leased through Honda of New Rochelle). If you go there to get yourself a Honda, please see MR. STRAHL. I PROMISE that you will not be disappointed. By the way, I ADORE my Honda Cross Tour!!! More
I got a new Honda for a good price and no hidden fees. I purchased the car in September 2010 when they had some Honda-Sale event and this was the lowest price I found after getting quotes from all dealers i purchased the car in September 2010 when they had some Honda-Sale event and this was the lowest price I found after getting quotes from all dealers in Westchester. Very pleasant experience with salesman, Lenny and with Jonathan in finance. A nice job was done on some options that were added. Lenny told us he would not be working on the day we were picking up our ne Jonathan in finance. A nice job was done on some options that were added. Lenny told us he would not be working on the day we were picking up our new car and that Ben Thomas was the salesman who would take care of us. Ben took time to show us the car and treated us like it was his sale. I plan to buy my next car from this dealership. More
A Pleasant Surprise at Honda of New Rochelle I am one A Pleasant Surprise at Honda of New Rochelle I am one of those people who was really intimidated by my previous experience at car dealerships since A Pleasant Surprise at Honda of New Rochelle I am one of those people who was really intimidated by my previous experience at car dealerships since I could not feel the pleasure of spending my own money. Fortunate or unfortunate, I need to buy a car again. I searched the web and found all the great reviews about this dealership. Although suspicious, I decided to take my chance there because there are more horror stories told by the customers at some of the other dealerships. I went there with the knowledge that bad things could happen there too, based on three negative reviews: 1) A car they promised could not be delivered after months of waiting. 2) A charge of ~ $400 was not mentioned during price negotiation. 3) A 5 hour wait at delivery time. Keith greeted us and he quickly gained our trust by providing his professional opinions about the cars from customers’ point of view. He and manager Al made sure that we felt comfortable to make our request. Keith provided many suggestions based on his understanding of our needs. He even made suggestions on how to get a good deal, such as choosing a car from their inventory (which is quite large, > 500 car/van). Since we were flexible, we quickly settled on a car that was in their parking lot, avoiding the problem in review 1). After test drive, Ben worked with us on the price. His negotiation style is very straight forward: no false information, no scaring tactics, just simple questions about my offering price. My feeling was that we were playing a fair, honest game. He also explained in detail what additional cost would be on top of the price we negotiate, that took care of review 2). During negotiation, I showed my respect to Ben by providing justifications on my offering based on hours of detective work in the web. He quickly helped me to get my offer approved. The total negotiation took less than an hour scattered in a couple of days. I knew my offer was a great price, but not the lowest price. However, I’d rather spend a little more to keep the enjoyable process going rather than to force them to convert to old car sale tactics. Ben set up an appointment for us to pick up the car next day and the car was waiting for us when we arrived, no problem as described in review 3). In summary, at Honda of New Rochelle, you will have their respect in both car shopping and price negotiation. Although you may not get the best price automatically, you may get there by showing your respect to them and putting up sufficient effort to earn it. More
I recently moved to the ny area and I needed a car. I read about honda rochelle in the paper and saw an ad for an 06' Civic that I could afford, so I went down there and spoke to a sales rep named Frank. read about honda rochelle in the paper and saw an ad for an 06' Civic that I could afford, so I went down there and spoke to a sales rep named Frank. They no longer had that car in stock so I was goign to leave. I'm glad I didn't because I wouldn't have gotten my car. He showed me another civic a year newer and a little more money, but he convinced me we could work something out. He gavme a good price and I was able to get it. More

I came in for a pre-certified used car and was shown one I was interested in. DayDrah was the sales rep and she was very accommodating, but although she was willing to quote price ranges she did not have I was interested in. DayDrah was the sales rep and she was very accommodating, but although she was willing to quote price ranges she did not have final say on pricing. This was left to the manager Chris, who is the quintessential sleazy used car salesman. He highballed me refusing to negotiate lost a generous cash deal. After I walked away he proceeded to have DayDrah call me over the course of that day and again a week later offering me that same car for the price I was willing to pay. I have since purchased a new car from White Plains Honda where I had a completely different and superior experience. I suggest anyone looking for a used or new car to go to White Plains instead and ask for Donna. Good luck to all. More
