Chris Irvin greeted me at the front door with cars ready to test drive. I was hit by a drunk driver and was very anxious about driving again. His kindness and support was beyond any experience I have had to test drive. I was hit by a drunk driver and was very anxious about driving again. I started ‘looking’ online because I didn’t want the pressure of talking to a salesper I recently purchased a 2014 Pilot from Honda of Gainesville. I started ‘looking’ online because I didn’t want the pressure of talking to a salesperson at the dealership right away. I was very pleased with how seamless the whole process was, Ryan was nothing but professional! He was extremely helpful and courteous from start to finish; I never felt he was being intrusive or pushy. This was a great experience and I’d recommend this dealership to my family and friends. I would recommend Chris Irvin to anyone. He was dealing with my son on the phone and me in his office. My son is knowledgeable about car sales and had many direct questions. Ryan was very friendly. He went over the various makes of the Honda CRV. He didn't try and convince me to buy from him right then. He encouraged me to take my time and think about what I wanted in a car and compare the two. He wrote me a great price quote to take with me with all the fees. I loved it that he didn't talk bad about the Subaru. He stressed the positives of owning a Honda without being nasty. I was very confident that I made the right decision when I came back after I took a couple of days to think about it. I purchased the 2014 CRV. Thanks Ryan. More
We have been looking at cars for quite some time. We finally decided we wanted a small SUV so we looked on the Honda of Gainesville website and picked out one we thought we would like. We then called the salesman, Ryan, and told him which vehicle we picked out and gave him the stock number we got off the website. We made an appointment with Ryan and when we got there he had the car all ready for us to look at and test drive. He put the car in an enclosed area since it was rainy out. Ryan went on the test drive with us and explained things about the vehicle and answered our questions. We then went inside and discussed price. We already knew what our old car was worth and we had an Internet quote from another dealership including dealer added options. Ryan then discussed the price with Kelly, his manager. Kelly came in and went over the price with us and we told him the other dealer was including weather guard mats and he said he can do that. We then told them there were other vehicles we wanted to look at and we were told that was fine and didn't pressure us. Over the next few days we looked at other vehicles and wanted to take the Honda for a second test drive. We made an appointment with Ryan and he allowed us to take the car without him. After the test drive we told Ryan there was one more vehicle we wanted to look at and again there was no pressure. We decided on Saturday afternoon to buy the Honda and we called Ryan and told him. Since it was too late to go on Saturday we made an appointment for Sunday. That was Ryan's day off but he came in anyway. The purchase process was smooth with no changes. We went through finance with no pressure to buy other items such as an extended warranty. Overall it was an easy, stress free, experience and we highly recommend the sales and service departments at Honda of Gainesville. More
I had the unfortunate experience while trying to find a used car of working with a salesman named Hector at the used car side of Honda of Gainesville. He started out ok, but quickly showed that he was a pr used car of working with a salesman named Hector at the used car side of Honda of Gainesville. He started out ok, but quickly showed that he was a pretty poor salesman. It first became apparent when I asked whether a deal on the new car side (through my employer) was available with used cars- Hector said yes, but his manager later said that it didn't apply. As it turned out, he didn't know much about the cars we were interested in or market values either. We came in knowing more than he did. We knew that the NADA pricing, which their prices are based on, was under $10,000 for the car we were looking at, but Hector insisted that there was no way that could possibly be. We insisted that he check the NADA and Kelly blue book pricing anyway. We never did see the Kelly pricing, despite asking several times, and we were right about the NADA pricing as well. Either he lied to us or he simply didn't know- neither of which is a particularly desirable quality in the guy selling you a car. The entire time he used every single gimmick that used car salesman are made fun of for. We heard that it was "us versus the managers," that we had "better buy it today, we won't have such a great deal tomorrow," and acting furtive as though he was offering us a secret deal. The entire sale was high pressure with very little accurate information or honesty. This dealership does have many great salesman, but Hector is not one of them. We almost didn't return to the dealership after working with him, but were lucky enough to find a different salesman who was great (ask for Matt Like). More
Excellent experience purchasing a new car from Ryan. Our car was slightly delayed due to our color preference and we were provided a new car to drive while waiting for delivery.
