I had arranged to view a 2024 Honda Pilot Touring (online stock #: F000619) on 7/12/24 via email with Susan. The car was about $10k less than the other 2024 Pilots, and now I recognized why they priced it t stock #: F000619) on 7/12/24 via email with Susan. The car was about $10k less than the other 2024 Pilots, and now I recognized why they priced it this way. It's a bait and switch to get you in the door so they can claim they can't find Stock #: F000619, and will instead show you a more expensive model. Upon arrival, I was introduced to a salesperson and said I was here to look at this specific model. I waited about 30 minutes for them to return saying she couldn't find the car I'm interested in (seems like a terrible inventory system to have if you can't find stock for a potential buyer, but I digress) but that she can show me a similar vehicle that was conveniently $9k more than the one I was originally interested in, Stock # B007422. I foolishly decided to test drive it in hopes Stock #: F000619 would appear so I could get down to business. It never appeared. In the meantime, I had my trade-in evaluated for value while we started talking about numbers. Upon letting me know my value, my keys weren't offered back to me, I had to ask for them. The keys arrived in a box with a bunch of other keys, as if they assumed the sale was a sure thing and didn't need to give me my keys back. The whole negotiation and financing process was terrible. I was offered an 8% APR even though I have excellent credit. I pointed out I can get financing cheaper through my bank and suddenly Honda of FM was able to offer 3.99% APR. Pricing negotiations were a joke. I was offered $11,900 for my trade but by the time all their fees, taxes, etc were done, I was back at a $48k sales price essentially giving them my car for free. The whole situation on Friday took almost 3 hours of everyone's time. I regrettably paid a deposit to hold the car overnight so I could go home and think about this vehicle. After thinking about my experience with Honda of Ft Myers, I decided I couldn't buy a vehicle off a business trying to bait and switch me on a different car than I was interested in. I called this morning to get my deposit refunded and spoke with Susan again, who said she wanted to make it right. I explained the scenario and said I'm not doing business with this company after my experience and just want my money back. Susan hung up on me when she knew she wasn't getting anywhere. If this is the treatment this business gives to potential customers, count me out. Fortunately I saw all their negative Google reviews about their fees and tactics before I signed an agreement to buy this car. Buyer beware. More
Nice showroom, very clean, but after you purchase a car, they are on to the next sale, when I picked Up the car , never went over car with me, I handed him my keys and he gave me the new car keys.
