I bought a used car (2016 Kia Soul) and the same day I drove it home, it didn’t accelerate after the stops, even worse, driving in the highway (not running more than 40-45 miles)and I knew the transmision wasn’t good. I called the saleswoman Tracy right away to let her know that the car was defective, she called me later saying that service manager told her I can bring the car to check but I had to pay $220 Obviously I got mad! The next couple of days the car was having electrical problems also! and the third day it didn’t started. I paid towing ($250) and bring it back to the dealer and left it there, they said I can’t return the car and they not gonna fix it, they said it was my problem! I asked to talk with the store manager (Gary Wexler) who at that time said they gonna send the car to the manufacturer (Kia) and when Kia Lincolnwood fix it, he’d brought it back and he can buy the car back from me. The car was nearly 2 months in Kia Lincolnwood, they didn’t fix it and the final diagnostic: was the TRANSMISION!!! I returned to the Honda Dealer to talk with them and they were totally rude, they said now is my problem to pay the car (financing) and they don’t care and I can even hire a lawyer or bring a tv stations o submit complains everywhere. I already submitted complains with the BBB and with the Illinois Attorney waiting for a satisfactory result. The only nice people over there were Tracy (saleswoman) and Joel (service manager)…. General manager Gary Wexler & Thomas Rose the most rude and unfriendly people! More
Simply put, I had an absolutely horrific experience as a customer at this car dealership in several ways. It is not too strong to say this dealership practices what is widely considered to be predatory lend customer at this car dealership in several ways. It is not too strong to say this dealership practices what is widely considered to be predatory lending. Specifically, Financial Managers Jonathan Wilson and Thomas Rose were two of the most disrespectful, shady, unfriendly men I have ever dealt with, let alone as a customer of their business making a $25K+ purchase. Jonathan was incredibly condescending and deceiving in every interaction we had with him. At one point while he relentlessly tried to sell us dealership warranties after I repeatedly declined, he commented about my wife and I’s pregnancy “you know your budget is going to change when a baby comes, who knows what you’ll be able to afford if a $2500 car issue comes up”. Classy. Additionally, Thomas specifically disrespected my wife by ignoring her completely throughout our entire interaction, and acted as if he could barely stand to be in the same room as us while we signed documents agreeing to purchase a car from him. He gave curt, one word responses/instructions and rushed us through very important paperwork that stated the financial implications of our purchase and loan. Jonathan Wilson, Thomas Rose, and this dealership attempted to exploit my wife and I with high interest rates and loan lengths that we explicitly stated we did not want. I had to ask more than five times to be disclosed the actual terms of the loan before we were told that the interest rate was much higher than we had qualified for the day before through Chase (not just “pre-qualified”, actual auto loan application approved via hard credit inquiry through Chase). After a battle of attrition just to receive a fair interest rate and the length of loan that was specifically requested, there was no apology or acknowledgment that any mistakes were made on their end and we were treated poorly the rest of the transaction. At the end, I requested to speak with a manager (Jason Press, Pre-Owned Manager) but was told he was “too busy to speak with me”. Instead, Thomas came back out and continued to act immaturely and be disrespectful towards my wife and I. In summary, I wouldn’t recommend this dealership to my worst enemy. It was an awful experience and a clear demonstration of how predatory lending subjects people to terrible loans and debt they do not understand. I was embarrassed by their actions throughout and have never been so disrespected. More
The worst dealer I have ever bought a car from. I drove 700 miles and the dealer sold me a lemon. The dealer added $999 for what they call a service checkup and advised me everything was good. I w I drove 700 miles and the dealer sold me a lemon. The dealer added $999 for what they call a service checkup and advised me everything was good. I walked out to the vehicle and the key fob did not work as it was never programed to the car. The drive back home 300+ miles was a bouncy one. I had to get new shocks and new tires put on the vehicle ($1,200.00). I now have to spend another $300 to have a key cut and programed to the car. The people there are a joke. The only thing they did was give me discount on an extended warranty. I would advise anyone who wants to buy a car to go somewhere else and pay a little more as you will spend the money getting the vehicle ready to drive. Please don't buy a car hear. More
Vehicles did not match the write-up and description posted online. Features were advertised but not available, and they were not willing to adjust the price as a result. This is only about a used car purchase. They're willing to work on price but the used car came with cupping on tires and brakes that were shot. Of course you drive off the lot and it's your problem, but when they tell you $995 is spent on the car to make it sale ready, I would expect these basics are taken care of. They get 2 stars only because Wilfredo our salesman was great, I'd do business with him any day, just not with this dealer. At least for used cars. More
I purchased a used vehicle from this dealer and drove home from downtown to Northwest suburbs! When I got home I could smell antifreeze very strong in the car! I reached out to the dealership sales perso home from downtown to Northwest suburbs! When I got home I could smell antifreeze very strong in the car! I reached out to the dealership sales person who did not respond right away and then she sent me off to a manager in training! Who would not return my calls until I was on my way there. He called when I was on the way there. After I called to alert him! He tells me the car was deemed worthy to drive. I had Merlin look over the car where several other things were wrong with it! It goes into park by itself/ the power steering hose is sweating fluid / the system has so many glitches I cannot explain. The manager in training tells me he cannot pay for the car to be fixed. He will try to help w/ $400.00 for repairs that already will cost close to $1300.00. I have yet to get a check or my vehicle fixed! The 1st day I got the car it was not a good car. It is costing me an upwards of $20,000.00 for the vehicle and They have not done anything about it! I have talked to this so called manager several times and was reassured they sent the check and never received anything! This dealership will take your money and sell you a lemon. Do not trust anyone at Downtown Chicago Honda ever! Horrible service. They are out just to make a sell and do not care about the customer! Do not buy from this dealership!!!! ALERT: DO NOT BUY FROM THIS DEALERSHIP…. More
Bought a used car here certified pre owned. Took it back to their service shop and they gave me a list of nearby $20,000 of things that need to be repaired. When I mentioned they were the ones that sold me the car just 1 month ago the list of things wrong with the car drastically decreased. Brake pads that a minute ago were dangerously worn were suddenly explained to just be below 50% and were fine for at least another year or 2… don’t take your car here. They’ll absolutely take you to the cleaners while smiling and treating you like xxxx along the way. More

I was advised it was a managerial decision to sale to someone else in person despite our ongoing deal. Wasted time and credit check. No remorse for our wasted time and the manager lacked professionalism and apparent communication with staff. Save yourself the time find a more reputable dealership. Buyer beware. More
