I went to this dealership to get a price to see how it compared to a price I'd received from another dealership. I spoke to a sales manager (I think his name was David, gray hair, older gentleman) and he compared to a price I'd received from another dealership. He said he could "beat the price" given to me by the other dealer but he would not give me a hard dollar amount. I left the dealership, never to return. I purchased my Accord at another dealership. I was shopping. That's why I went to different dealerships -- to compare prices. Since Honda on Grand did not want to participate in my shopping they did not end up participating in my purchase. I, like many others, was lured by a great price in the newpaper. $16,895 for a 2007 civic EX! When I called, they told me it had hail damage. Fine, at least they told me up front. However, when I inquired how much a NON hailed damage equivalent would cost, "Jack" (phantom sales manager) told me $800 more. I showed up that night and was informed "Jack" screwed up and really the car cost $1,500 more. (I should have left then, in hindsight) I did end up getting a pretty good price ($18,100) after many hours of hard negotiating. The real fun began when they ran my credit and told me I had a "limited" credit history and they would have to call the banks the next day to set up my loan. HA! My "limited" credit history includes a mortgage, one paid off car loan, zero late payments, and oh yeah a credit score of over 50 points higher than what they told me! I faxed them my credit report (at my expense) the next day and was set up with an average rate. Sidenotes: The salesguy was clueless about the features of the car, referred to me as a "mini-deal" to my face, forced me to drive out there 3 days in a row - over 50 miles - one way - from my house!! DO NOT buy a vehicle from this dealership. It seems they will pull out every trick in the book to RIP YOU OFF. DO NOT give them a deposit at any point!! That was my biggest mistake. Don't worry about them selling the car if you don't put a deposit down. What I've learned: Paying a few hundred dollars extra for a car is worth it if you feel comfortable with the sales guys and can trust them. If you negotiate as hard as I did, sure you'll save a couple $ up front, but TRUST ME, you'll pay for it in the end! More
I went in to look at used Odyssey's. I test drove one but for the condition it was in, the price was way too high. I saw another one that looked great and asked the sales person for the price. He asked to look at my trade in and I made the mistake of giving him my keys to get in and check the odometer. When he got out, he held on to my keys so I asked him for my keys back so I could lock my car. He used the remote to lock it himself but clearly didn't want to give my keys back. I held my hand out for them and after a couple of seconds he gave in and handed them over. This is a classic tactic they use to keep you from leaving if you get fed up. Keep in mind that he has yet to get me the price of the van (again, I made the mistake of giving him my info without getting the price first). I asked again about the price and he went off into another office to look up the price. I am generally a patient person, but after he tried to hold my keys my patience was already worn thin. He left me sitting for 15 minutes - I did look at the clock - and when it reached 15 minutes I finally had it. I went into the office he was in and told him I need to leave to get back to work. He said they were having trouble finding the price of the van but that he would call me as soon as he found it. That call never came, even after I contacted management in sales to convey my experience there. How can a dealership not have the price of a vehicle on their lot readily available to the salespeople? What type of management/owners allow their people to use sales tactics like these? I understand they need to make a profit, but honesty likely would have gotten me into that van. Instead I will never consider buying from them. Of course, as in some of the other reviews on here, I was lured into their store by incredible prices listed on their website as well as on cars.com. Naturally the vehicles had already been sold and all that were left were vans being sold at or above blue book prices. I ended up buying a car at Oakbrook Toyota in Westmont - they didn't play games and had me in and out in an hour. More
I saw a used Honda Civic on Cars.com, called to verify they still had it, and drove to the dealership. Three hours later, I left with the car-- AND I got it for $800 less than the ad online. Unfortunately when I got home and saw the car in daylight there were some stains on the upholstery and the steering wheel is a mess, but that's kind of my fault for buying a car at nighttime. At any rate, Shawn was great, not pushy at all, and knew the answers to all my questions. The finance guys however... make sure you do your research before going in there! They gave me a rate 2.5 points higher than every other one I saw on the internet. I talked him into matching the deal a bank had quoted me online and it worked out OK, but it could have cost me a lot of money if I hadn't already been pre-approved for a loan. Some of the other sales guys seemed REALLY sleazy. I'm glad I got Shawn and recommend him if you go there. More
Grand Honda had 2007 Honda Accord LX automatics advertised in the Sept. 15, 2006 Tribune for $18,895. When I went the next day, they had only one which was a stick. I put down a $1,000 dep. on a 2006 Accord (buyer's order, not a sales agreement) to be picked up the following Monday(base price $18,645). I got a better deal at Lisle Honda on a 2007 on Monday, drove over to Grand Honda to get back my $1,000 and Ray Abdi refused to give it to me because he said he deposited the check that day and didn't know whether the check had been cashed. Now I have called and e-mailed my account to stop payment on the check and, if it has already gone through, must fax him information about the check having been cashed before I can get my money back. I would NEVER deal with these people again. More

The car that I got had some scratches on the vinyl dash surface near the ignition key insert, and the customer service refused to do anything about it. They said this is a part of normal wear and tear and they can't do anything! More
I was looking for a cheap student car and they have something that matched my budget. After test driving the car, the sales person went into the showroom to get something and when he came out he told something that matched my budget. I went home and in the evening the manager called me and told me another story, saying the person who wanted to buy the car was not approved for loan and the car is available again. I decided to give them another chance and went down the next day only to be told by the manager that the same car was sold just before I came. I think they are just using a cheap car to bait you, the car that was advertised was never meant for sale. Stay away from them!!!!! More

It is because of him that I bought were I did. His sales manager was nice and all, and did match my offer I had already .. but it was because of Tony that I recommend this dealer. More

After "finalizing" a deal with my local dealer only to be assessed outragious doc fees, prep fees, etc I turned to the 'net. Although Grand Honda was almost 2 hours a way, I found the drive to be well worth it. It was the easiest car buying experience imaginable... I knew what I wanted and what a good price was... I got one "no-haggle" quote from their internet sales force (which was very competive)... then received a purchase order detailing all fees taxes, etc and showed the final price. I made the drive to the dealership expecting the worst and having to deal with typical dealer shadyness... I encountered the exact opposite. Everyone I dealt with was very cordial and took tons of time with me. They told me to test drive the car before I put money down and I found the vehicle (new 2006 ridgeline) to be in perfect condition. In the end, I paid the exact amount we agreed on via email. I couldn't believe a remote car buying transaction could go so smoothly. All around, I had an excellent experience with Grand Honda and highly recommend them. More
