Refused to give me a price over the phone. I had sent in a request through Costco auto program. Refused to show me the Costco auto price sheet when I showed up. Insisted on putting me through the rigamaro a request through Costco auto program. Refused to show me the Costco auto price sheet when I showed up. Insisted on putting me through the rigamarole of going through the hapless floor guy and filling out the paperwork, sitting around, waiting for 2 hrs and then coming back with a price of MSRP+$2000 of worthless packages (they still insist on adding on $500 of mysterious 'interior protection' and $500 of 'exterior protection' which is vaporware and most other dealers have stopped this tactic). Wasted 3 hrs here and missed getting to the other dealer in time. Worst auto-buying experience so far. Avoid Scott Atchison and this dealership. More
Liar, Liar, Liar. The email said the cheapest OTD price for 2009 Honda LX for $21000. After I arrived, change to $25000. Even expensive than a EX model. Insane. I do not recommend this dealer. 1) Did not provide us copies of all signed document at time of sale or after; did get a faxed copy of original bill of sale but never the replacement bill of sale they backdated and insisted we sign; 2)AF time of sale or after; did get a faxed copy of original bill of sale but never the replacement bill of sale they backdated and insisted we sign; 2)AFter sale presented new document for our signature that would make us liable if the government CARS program did not pay the dealer; this was not a part of the original deal; we were told that this document was required by the State of Texas; 3) They did not provide an estimate of the salvage value of the car as required by the CARS program at the time of sale; several days later we signed a backdated document; 4) They charged us a $200 fee related to the CARS program; The CARS program allows the dealer $50 from the salvage value for their trouble and states they may not charge any other fee; 5) our verbal deal was $x plus TT&L. However the sales agreement, presented quickly to sign, did not allow us to go through it line by line, included an additional $50 fee and a $42 (as I recall) fee that was not part of our deal. More
I bought a vehicle from them in early April 09 and thought it would be a swift and easy transaction. Not only am I still dealing with issues 3 MONTHS LATER, but I was sexually harassed by a member of thought it would be a swift and easy transaction. Not only am I still dealing with issues 3 MONTHS LATER, but I was sexually harassed by a member of their staff. He claimed I looked like a "dancer" and proceeded to badger me about my physical attributes that made me look like a "dancer." (I was in a pair of Levi's, a T-shirt, and tennis shoes). Adding insult to injury, the finance manager treated me like a complete idiot (and I have a degree in Finance!). They also ran unauthorized credit inquiries, (17 just on Equifax) lowering my credit score to the point where my student loan lender would not renew my student loans. The general manager, Don Boyle, was contacted multiple times via fax and phone, and to this day claims he is handling the situation and refuses to provide any evidence. DO NOT SUPPORT Honda Cars of McKinney, they are degrading, incompetent, and neglectful. More
I visited this car lot this past Saturday. I was met by Kwame and i explained what i was looking for (06 Pilot with DVD which they had a couple per their website). He was nice and pleasant to talk to and s Kwame and i explained what i was looking for (06 Pilot with DVD which they had a couple per their website). He was nice and pleasant to talk to and showed me the vehicles i was looking for. I will say their website is a bit misleading. They list a bunch of vehicles that "appear" to be on their lot but are actually in NC at another dealership. I'm not sure if i wasn't looking close enough at the website or not so that wasn't a big deal for me (Just FYI, in case you see something online make sure its in Mckinney) So i find the one I want take it home to let the wife to see it. She loves it and we decide to see what the financing would be. A little background wife was already approved thru Cap. One blank check program so we had that to fall back on. She also got approved at Carmax with Cap One for 11% no money down(they had 1 pilot but not exactly what we wanted) I wanted to see if they could do better. Well Kwame got the wife's info and left to the magical land of fiance. He came back with a offer of 60months and payments of 590's. Well we almost fell out of the chair. He said it was at 12%. Well i guess the salesmen there never heard of a little thing called the internet!! quickly googled it and found out that they were offering 20% interest. Told Kwame thanks but no thanks. He then tried to tell me that Carmax was lying about the interest rate. I let him know i use to sell cars at there a few years ago and i knew how the game is played and that they did have an approval at 11%. So he left and came back with slight lower payments and instead of 60months it was 72months. Still refused to say what the interest rate was!!! Well the wife was done and was getting ready to leave. Can you guess what happens next?? The manager now comes over and i let him know i was not a stupid customer and told him what we wanted and that the offers made before really insulted us. So he leaves to "take a look" at the deal. Comes back and precedes to tell me that he got approval thru Cap One and its 19.5% and still wanted a down payment. He said "they can't give Carmax a better rate than us. We are all dealers and you would get the same rate from them anywhere you go. So the other dealer was LYING" Well i pulled up the email that the wife had gotten from Cap One on her own and the intrest rate was 12.6% and showed it to the manager. Well no response from the manager. I decided i have wasted too much time with these clowns(2hrs) called the wife to pick me up where we headed to Carmax. We get to the other dealer and found the Pilot we loved and since they already ran it thru the computer and approved we where in and out in under an hour with the car we wanted at the interest rate we were told over the phone. Oh and we also got the extended warranty and it was still less than Honda of Mckinney's best offer. Please dont fall prey to their stupid games. Shop around, Look on the internet, Do your homework, otherwise you will be paying for it for the life of your loan. More
Had a small oil leak fixed, but it immediately started making a clicking sound - like it did when it was low on oil. I brought the car back 2 days later to have it checked as I thought it was still leakin making a clicking sound - like it did when it was low on oil. I brought the car back 2 days later to have it checked as I thought it was still leaking. Brought it back 4 weeks after that, and 2 days after that because it was so loud it sounded as if it would explode. My engine isn't getting any oil so I can't drive it. There was no offer to look at it, except to run transmission fluid through it at an extra cost. The CSR had the mechanic come listen to it and he yelled at me, in front of anyone "I didn't do anything to your car, lady!" I didn't imply that he did, only that this is a new problem since the repair. I asked the CSR to speak to a manager - which she declined stating that this is our "head mechanic." I don't care who he is, there was no reason for yelling. I was planning to buy a new car this summer but will surely NOT be spending any more money in an establishment that cares nothing for its customers. More
Terrible customer service. A typical bait and switch dealership. I provided them with detailed options, color, trim, etc. and terms of lease and my exact tier one credit score. The salesman gave m dealership. I provided them with detailed options, color, trim, etc. and terms of lease and my exact tier one credit score. The salesman gave me an answer that we were "in the ballpark." Came back the next day and after a test drive and some small talk with the salesman - I gave him the max I would pay for a 3 year lease, and he took it back to his manager. I was then visited by the dealership sales manager, Rick Dailey. Dailey tried to cheap sales talk my wife, and then proceeded to quote me a 4-year term with a price 40% over of the absolute max price I specifically told the salesman I would pay for 3 years. Moving towards the exit, Dailey ran after us and dropped his price down to my original max price!! He took off one option in his quote, citing my great credit and the bad market. My wife and I shook our heads at his obviously offensive attitude and attempt to screw us. As far as his latest quote -way too late. You try to scumbag me with such blatantly bad faith tactics, you have now lost all credibility with me. It is one thing if you simply cannot do the deal I need. It is another thing to deal with me as if I am a complete moron. We walked out. Sad thing for the saleman is that I would have taken the second offer foregoing the option in the car had his manager been upfront and honest and had not been smarmy, condescending and clearly ineffective at providing good customer service. This was a horrendous lesson in how to waste a Saturday and what piss poor customer service looks and feels like. Stay away from Honda of McKinney and find yourself another dealership if you want a Honda - there are some very well run dealerships (not just Honda) in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. This ain't one of them. More
This was my son's first time to buy a car. On the trip down there, I warned him about what a wretched experience it was. I told him to be on the look out for the bait-and-switch ploy, pushy salesmen, ext down there, I warned him about what a wretched experience it was. I told him to be on the look out for the bait-and-switch ploy, pushy salesmen, extra add ons they'll want to pad onto the sale and creative accounting on the sales contract. All the things I had experienced. I was pleasantly surprised when we did not experience any of these. The salesman, Andy, asked my son a few questions and showed him a car he thought 'would fit him.' It certainly did! My son loves this car. Andy was not pushy at all and actually put my fears to rest with his sense of humor. I also felt like he was putting my son's best interest first with his recommendations. This was the best car buying experience I have ever had. I highly recommend them!!! More
I received an "no hassle" internet price quote from this dealer. When I went in to get an out the door price they came back with a price plus ttl. The ttl they quoted was tax plus $275. I when I showed them dealer. When I went in to get an out the door price they came back with a price plus ttl. The ttl they quoted was tax plus $275. I when I showed them the email I had that quoted ttl as tax plus "title, registration, etc. of $189" and asked why it was difference, they first tried to tell me it was the destination charge. I corrected them on that as the destination charge was $670 and also quoted in the email. As soon as I corrected the manager, he became very upset an impatient. I ended up walking out without bother to get a card. When I arrived home, I found the following email waiting for me: ===================================================================== That was an unbelievable deal you passed up. I have no idea what they will do the week of Christmas. Each day is different. Each manager is different. As I mentioned tax is 6.25% titling and registration is 189.00. Then there is an inventory tax and a documentation fee just like at every other dealership. So t.t.&l is exactly the same anywhere in Texas. It was unfortunate that there was no patience on my managers behalf but also on your behalf. If you wish to try again, I am willing to try with you. At this point though, any pricing will be made in person and any offers from you need to be made in person. You should be able to tell that by our effort on the price that was offered, we will not be under sold. ===================================================================== The person who sent the email never mentioned the inventory tax or documentation, his manager did when I was asking for an out the door price. There were also mentions of dock fees as part of the $275. I'm appalled any dealership would consider asking clarification on how pricing breaks down to be impatient on the customer's part. More
