This was my son's first time to buy a car. On the trip down there, I warned him about what a wretched experience it was. I told him to be on the look out for the bait-and-switch ploy, pushy salesmen, ext down there, I warned him about what a wretched experience it was. I told him to be on the look out for the bait-and-switch ploy, pushy salesmen, extra add ons they'll want to pad onto the sale and creative accounting on the sales contract. All the things I had experienced. I was pleasantly surprised when we did not experience any of these. The salesman, Andy, asked my son a few questions and showed him a car he thought 'would fit him.' It certainly did! My son loves this car. Andy was not pushy at all and actually put my fears to rest with his sense of humor. I also felt like he was putting my son's best interest first with his recommendations. This was the best car buying experience I have ever had. I highly recommend them!!! More
I received an "no hassle" internet price quote from this dealer. When I went in to get an out the door price they came back with a price plus ttl. The ttl they quoted was tax plus $275. I when I showed them dealer. When I went in to get an out the door price they came back with a price plus ttl. The ttl they quoted was tax plus $275. I when I showed them the email I had that quoted ttl as tax plus "title, registration, etc. of $189" and asked why it was difference, they first tried to tell me it was the destination charge. I corrected them on that as the destination charge was $670 and also quoted in the email. As soon as I corrected the manager, he became very upset an impatient. I ended up walking out without bother to get a card. When I arrived home, I found the following email waiting for me: ===================================================================== That was an unbelievable deal you passed up. I have no idea what they will do the week of Christmas. Each day is different. Each manager is different. As I mentioned tax is 6.25% titling and registration is 189.00. Then there is an inventory tax and a documentation fee just like at every other dealership. So t.t.&l is exactly the same anywhere in Texas. It was unfortunate that there was no patience on my managers behalf but also on your behalf. If you wish to try again, I am willing to try with you. At this point though, any pricing will be made in person and any offers from you need to be made in person. You should be able to tell that by our effort on the price that was offered, we will not be under sold. ===================================================================== The person who sent the email never mentioned the inventory tax or documentation, his manager did when I was asking for an out the door price. There were also mentions of dock fees as part of the $275. I'm appalled any dealership would consider asking clarification on how pricing breaks down to be impatient on the customer's part. More
I cam in to buy a car from a different guy who wasnt there, so this amin guy said he could help me. He started off saying the car i wanted was 3000 above MSRP due to market demands. when i wanted to t there, so this amin guy said he could help me. He started off saying the car i wanted was 3000 above MSRP due to market demands. when i wanted to test drive the car, he wanted to pre-qualify me for a loan before hand. I said no way, and he said he wouldnt waste his time and go out in the heat unless i did. Absolutely unbelieveable! In a completely different visit, i had come into the used dept to look for a used honda. They took my keys to "appraise" my car, and kept urging me to test drive these old, overpriced cars i wasnt even interested in. When i didnt want to purchase them, the sales manager called me "stubborn" and "hard headed." I had to demand several times to get my keys back so i could finally leave. So, used or new, they are out to screw you especially if you are female. Stay away! More

Just like with any dealership, there are good and bad employees. I've worked with sales guys that have bent over backward for us, and others that have been aggressive, confrontational, and arrogant. employees. I've worked with sales guys that have bent over backward for us, and others that have been aggressive, confrontational, and arrogant. If you want to do business with Honda McKinney, here are some key things you must know: First, Honda McKinney is big, and I do mean big, on dealer add-ons. By doing your homework and learning the invoice price of the car and all accessories, you'll be successful haggling them off. Do not, I repeat do not, get suckered into paying $495 ea for the paint and fabric sealant. It is nothing more than spray on wax and a $10 dollar can of scotch-guard. If at first you don't succeed, try again. As I said above, I'd worked with some truly great salesmen -- but equally so, worked with some that have lived up to the negative stereotype. If the sales guy or sales manager isn't hearing your concerns, walk out and work with someone different. Having competitive bids from other dealerships really gets the ball moving fast in your direction, as suddenly all those dealer add-ons don't mean so much to them anymore. Secure outside financing. This way you can't get tricked into accepting a padded interest rate. Whatever you do, don't let your guard down in the finance office. This is where Honda McKinney makes the most money on things like warranties, security stickers, maintenance contracts, etc. This dealership makes spiffs from banks in the area, so if they're heavily directing you toward a bank or a rate, be suspicious. Not all warranties are created equal. McKinney Honda's in house warranty is called Hendrick AutoGuard. It's bloated and proprietary, meaning you can only get work done a pre-approved locations and its way overpriced. Instead shop around online and get Honda Care. I've figured out that Honda McKinney ads a "1" in front of the true cost of the warranty. So a warranty that should be $750, Honda McKinney sells for $1,750. Sneaky. You can always get an extended warranty during the first 36K of the car, not just at the time of purchase. Hypothetical tax savings on your trade. I really dislike how Honda McKinney approaches dealer trades. Basically they deduct your hypothetical tax savings from your best competitive offer to arrive at their final offer. They will dig their heals in and refuse to budge until the 11th hour when they're about to loose your business. All I can say is get your insulting low-ball bid from CarMax first to serve as your baseline. No matter who you work with at Honda McKinney, all the sales guys use this dirty trade value tactic. Be ready to have your negotiating 'A' game on. These guys are professionals at wearing you out. They have a lot of inventory depth and they thumb their nose at the neighboring dealerships. If you want to find a Honda without all the dealer add-ons, you'll have to catch it right when it gets off the truck. Once they sit in the receiving lot for more than a day, they'll be just as bloated as the other cars. Finally, if you do your homework, legwork, and have patience -- you can get a great deal with Honda McKinney. But if you're rushed and sloppy, they'll burn you real bad. More
I agree with good customer 07 - this was the worst experience of my life. Added on 6,000 of extras I did not want. Wanted to give 3000 less than book value for trade - said that he did not use kelly experience of my life. Added on 6,000 of extras I did not want. Wanted to give 3000 less than book value for trade - said that he did not use kelly blue book or nada. Would not even get close to MSRP - "said his car was worth more than MSRP" My wife and I walked out. Whoever is buying cars from here must not be doing thier home work or else thinks that "protective paint" is worth $500. More
These people will take advantage of you at every opportunity. They will promise you a 'great deal' and then charge you the MSRP. They will add extras onto the loan to bump up the price and tell you opportunity. They will promise you a 'great deal' and then charge you the MSRP. They will add extras onto the loan to bump up the price and tell you they are 'mandatory' to the sale of the car. Then, they will charge you several points higher in interest than you can get at your local bank or credit union. I paid off my car with Honda Finance after only four months to receive much lower interest. Mr. Snopik and Mr Gill will not return your calls or emails or address any issues directly with you. They are swine. More
do not buy from this dealership. was sold a used vehicle, and my fault, did not have it inspected before purchasing. was told the carfax report was clear and the car was in great condition! come to find out, and my fault, did not have it inspected before purchasing. was told the carfax report was clear and the car was in great condition! come to find out, the top has been sawed off (the car has been rolled/totaled?) and a new top was put on the car... but apparently whoever welded the top on did a horrible job because the entire roof leaks from all sides. The frame is bent and I have to get the tires rotated every 1000 miles - I need to pay a few thousand to try to get the frame rebent. I went up to the dealership to ask them if they will buy the car back, as I assumed buying from a dealership rather than online/personal seller meant somewhat of a reliable car! The manager talked to me like I was incoherant, telling me he will pay for a re-alignment?! A realignment that will like a few weeks before the car goes back to normal because the frame is bent? He said it was my stupidity for assuming the car was never totaled - I guess maybe I am at fault, for beleiving them when they showed me the carfax report and it showed the car had never been wrecked? Dont go here, I never will. More
Mislead and lied to by salespersons, one of them being the sales manager. I was give the information and price of a 4wheel drive Honda Element when i later found out with the vin number it was a 2wheel dr the sales manager. I was give the information and price of a 4wheel drive Honda Element when i later found out with the vin number it was a 2wheel drive. I thought i was getting a great deal, but the asking price i was negotiating on was much higher than the asking price of the SUV i was really buying. In addition they locked key inside the car and had to break into it! More
I went in to test drive a new Accord and got greeted by the sweetest sales guy, Anthony, bless his heart. He was so nice and friendly and very honest. I must say he tried his very best to try to help me. I the sweetest sales guy, Anthony, bless his heart. He was so nice and friendly and very honest. I must say he tried his very best to try to help me. Its a shame the poor guy works at such a crooked place. I was warned about this place from my a family member whos a car salesman but being a nice person, I decided to give them a chance and ended up totally wasting my time. This dealership adds $3000 worth of shit accesories on each and EVERY car at that dealership and makes the customer pay for it even if you do not want it or ask for it !! The managers and finance people just want to play around with nonsense numbers and waste time. They kept messin around with numbers supposedly trying to help me but it was all bullshit . They gave me $2000 less than what my trade in is worth because one very barely noticable ding on the side door. I ask them what interest rate they calculated and they say they dont even know, the computer doesnt tell them .....like im stupid ?? I have 700 credit score and they tell me i only qualify for 8% ....total bull. Then they try to lure me back saying they have the car I want coming to the dealership secured, they were gonna cancel it because i walked out.... and they have no idea what color it is, when its coming, no vin number, NOTHING ! I knew that was a total lie. They told me they would match another dealerships price, oh yea, when did $1000 over become matching ?! I felt bad for my sales guy, his manager was feeding him total crap. My hats off to him because he did try and he was so nice through the whole process when I told him I thought it was total bullshit. I was only patient because of him. But seriously I dont know how the hell this dealership got the Presidents Award. They must be paying people to vote for them with the profit they make jipping off their customers ! More
