Thank you for bringing your concerns to my attention. As you now know, Honda is currently having major issues getting HR-V's across the border into the United States. Honda only told us what the issues were a few weeks ago. And HR-V's only started to slowly cross the border a little over a week ago. We have had HR-V's sitting in Mexico since May, over three months. Unfortunately, because of this there were no updates to give you and there was no way for us to tell you when your vehicle would actually arrive. This situation is as frustrating for us as it is for our customers, we hate not being able to give our customers an accurate timeframe when their vehicle will arrive. Unfortunately, all of this is completely out of our control. You are correct that they do cross the border into Texas and not New Mexico. But there is a stop within Mexico they make with a NM abbreviation which I'm guessing someone mistook for New Mexico when they gave you an update. We absolutely could and would have refunded your deposit over the phone. You indicated you wanted to come in and discuss the situation and judging by how the conversation started when you were in the dealership you thought you would have to fight to get your deposit back. This was not the case, and the sales manager immediately refunded your deposit. We completely understand your frustration and the frustration all of our inbound HR-V customers are experiencing because of this situation. If you purchased an HR-V from another dealer, you will unfortunately still be waiting weeks if not months before the vehicle arrives. All Honda dealers are in the same situation. Thank you for making it an even easier decision to go to the dealer I chose. Emailing a customer "Unfortunately it has been taking longer than expected. Vehicle is still on the way, they haven’t told us exactly when at this moment" is not keeping your customer updated on what is actually happening. This was 7/21 - 7 days before I cancelled my order and asked for my refund. But you knew about the problem weeks ago and did not tell me as per your statement above -"Honda only told us what the issues were a few weeks ago. And HR-V's only started to slowly cross the border a little over a week ago". I was not told that until I came in to cancel my order and it came off as an excuse. Just because a customer is frustrated does not give you an excuse to avoid communication. I wanted facts and straight forward communication and Superior is giving that to me. That is why I am willing to wait my time and give them my business like my family and friends told me I should have done in the first place.
