Salesman that worked with me mentioned they could finance my truck thru Honda at a 1.9% rate. We worked out a deal that was satisfactory to me. Trading in my 2017 Ridgeline for a 2022. Worked with the financial manager. He ask about future oil changes. I told him for oil changes, that since I lived in Fulshear I would get routine maintenance closer to my home. He then told me that if I drove in to Katy I could get FREE oil changes I told him for free oil changes I would gladly drive to the dealership. We worked thru all the paperwork I and I did sign everything electronically. I will never make the mistake of trusting what the finance manager is telling me, but only what is in writing. When I got home I went thru the paperwork and realized they had done the bait and switch. They charged me $1000 for oil changes and financed thru Wells Fargo at 4%. I returned to the dealership the following day and talked to my salesman. He was surprised that I was charged for oil changes. He was a witness to the earlier conversation. Then met the finance manages and again he said I’d get free oil changes. He said had I paid in advance so I did not need to pay for oil changes. I told him he was a lie and dishonest. Paying in advance does not make the service free. Talked again to Dio, my salesman. He was very sorry for the issues. He gave me his managers email and private line. I tried multiple times to get in touch with any supervisor. Did not get any response. I contacted Honda Corp. they said that since they did not own the dealership, there was nothing they could do. I mention if they failed to help their customers, they could loose business. I really don’t expect any feedback from this dealership. $1000 is not going to break me, but I can’t recommend Honda or Acura to friends and family. I spoke with Charley Leach. The dealership assumed my prepaid oil change contract after ownership changed hands and decided after performing a few oil changes to no longer honor the contract when it became too expensive for them to continue to do so.
