I live in Michigan but wanted to find a car in the south (no rust from salt that they put on our roads up hear). Carland had a CRV I was interested in. I contacted them and talked to Mark Thomas. He was very helpful, not pushy but direct to the point. He personally inspected the car for me to answer a few questions I had based on the pictures on Auto Trader. We agreed on a price based on final inspection. Now came the risky part for me; fly to Atlanta hoping that the car was actually as Mark had stated and the pictures shown. I was surprised to find out through Mark that the store was open on Sunday which fit great for me getting to Atlanta. Once I was in Atlanta I hopped on the Marta (train system) from the airport. It took me within 5 miles of the dealership. Mark was more than willing to come pick me up and bring me back if I didn't like the car. The car was in pristine condition! The only thing I could find wrong with the car was the windshield washer didn't work. It was extremely cold in Atlanta that week and found out they don't put below freezing washer fluid in the cars in the south. Mark took the car into their shop to warm it up. Once warm, the washer worked fine. To say the least I used up the fluid before Michigan and put below freezing fluid back in. Mark called a couple of time to check on my progress back to Michigan making sure I didn't have any problems. I only had two slight dissatisfactions with this deal; 1. When getting insurance on the car, my insurance company said there had been a comprehensive claim (windshields etc type of damage) filed with an insurance company for $600. This was not on the "Car Fax" data list. I would have thought that if it's on some type of national list that my insurance company gets that "Car Fax" would also be able to get it. I guess not. So in the future I will get the Vin # and call my insurance company to look up data. This was not the dealers fault, just something I assumed "Car Fax" would cover. 2. The good part. Carland would take a personal check to pay for the car. Bad news it took a little longer than expected to get the title. Something about missing a Notary Signature that slowed the process up. Mark Thomas followed up on the problem and took care of it. Overall I would highly recommend Mark Thomas and Honda Carland if you are searching for a car on the internet or in person. More
