INADEQUATE COLD RESPONSE!!!!! In late April of 2020, when were mostly shut down b/c of the COVID-19, my car suddenly needed servicing. The message on Hillside Toyota's website said 'SEND AN EMAIL and someone will get back to you shortly. We have someone checking the email frequently during the day.' I got an ''immediate response'' to my email, two days later!!! And THIS I swear to you readers, was their response: 'We are closed due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Someone will get back to you when we reopen' THAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WAS HILLSIDE TOYOTA'S RESPONSE. {: (( {: (( {: (( {: (( I wrote back, "Well thank you for telling me the obvious. I know that you are closed due to the virus. What interim plans do you have in place for your customers? Do you have a plan B, like a referral to another repair service; another dealership that's open? SOMETHING!!!! Are YOUR customers supposed to just sit and twiddle our thumbs while we wait for you to ''get back to us?'' Did you not make alternative plans for your customers?!?!?!?!?!? Common-sense would dictate that you have one. Are vehicles supposed to automatically behave well until this pandemic is over' I was [surprisingly] disappointed with the cold, matter-of-fact response from Hillside Toyota's management, because I've been a repeat Hillside Toyota customer for several years. And am usually pleased with the guys there. Side note: I had my car serviced by Star Toyota (Bayside, Queens), the SAME DAY that I called them. Lovely customer-service by David and Bryan who work the desks in their service dept. And no, I did not tell them anything about being a 'Hillside Toyota' customer. More
I had a great experience at Hillside Toyota's service department. I did not have to wait, they fixed my Tundra right the first time, and the staff was very friendly, especially James, Kevin and VJ. This past Sept 18th, I had the pleasure of working with Travis. In my mind, he's a mentee of James, learning well the proper ways to speak and deal with customers. They are both very courteous, and do their best to make each customer feel that he or she is the ONLY customer. James would do well in HR, training employees ----regardless of where they work, what service they render----how to deal with customers /clients, whichever term that company prefers to use. Kuddos to Hillside Toyota in KEEPING these two employees. Hope that you show your appreciation to all of your employees, but particularly to those in the service dept, as this is mostly where the customers are unhappiest, because they are experiencing something negative with their vehicles, hence the reason for the visit, and they are not always in the best of moods. Wasted a whole day there on top of it all because they over booked. So even though my appointment was at 10am my car was not looked at till 4pm. Now again scheduled my appointment a week in advance foe service. Called the morning of to confirm. And there is no appointment for in me in the system. This is the absolute worst of the worst service department. More
