We took our car here for years for routine maintenance and service but we'll never return after our most recent experience. The long and short of the story is that we were having a maintenance problem with the vehicle, took it to Hillside and were charged $300 for an incorrect and sloppy diagnosis. The diagnosis made no sense to me and I consulted with other mechanics who concurred that Hillside must have made a mistake or simply not done a thorough job. Hillside wanted to charge $3000 for the repair. Even if their diagnosis was correct (and it wasn't), I received a quote for the same repair from another Toyota Dealership for literally one third of the price. I ended up driving two hours to take the car to the Toyota Dealership where we originally bought the vehicle. They provided the correct diagnosis, charged only $150 for the diagnostic fee and provided an estimate that was less than one half of what Hillside wanted to charge. I have no doubt that Hillside would have charged us $3k to fix a part that did not need to be fixed and then would have charged an additional $3k to fix the part that actually needed to be repaired! In addition to this terribly incompetent service, Hillside's technicians also created new problems with the vehicle that didn't exist before we took it to their shop. My emails and calls to Ravi (manager of the service departmen)t went unanswered. All of this to say, avoid this place at any cost, or it will very likely cost you. I'm not sure if they've always been this terrible or if the pandemic has turned them into scammers. Either way, their current business practices are corrupt and fraudulent. More
