I have a 2017 Infiniti QX80 AWD. I needed a 4 wheel alignment. I brought it in on 08/07/2023 around 1pm. It's important to note, before coming in for service I visited the service center with my QX80 a few days before, my concerns were because it's an Infiniti, will Hill Nissan do the wheel alignment. I spoke with Joey Barone (Assistant Service Manager and a very nice gentleman), and told him my concern. I also did not have time to go to Tampa Infiniti (90mins each way 164 mile round trip) or Orlando Infiniti (60mins each way 100 mile round trip) to get the wheel alignment done if Hill Nissan Service Center could do the work I live 20mins (28 mile round trip) from Hill Nissan as opposed to going to Tampa or Orlando (in hindsight should have made time to have Infiniti service my QX80 Infiniti more on that later). Joey assured me the work could be done there at Hill Nissan in fact most local tire shop can do a wheel alignments and Hill Nissan often services Infiniti with no problems, then he said something very peculiar that I often hear from family, friends, naysayers and most shade tree car mechanics who have no idea what they are talk about in respects to Infiniti vs Nissan argument. "Infiniti and Nissan are basically the same car, no difference both are made by Nissan, Infiniti just cost a whole lot more to own". Now maybe this was said to calm my fears like I said in the beginning of my Review Joey seems to be a very fine gentleman, maybe he's right, God I hope not. While the Infiniti QX80 and Nissan Armada are both awesome vehicles, the QX80 is true luxury and everything about it screams luxury. Which brings me to my point of disappointment about the service that was done. After getting checked in by Service Advisor Chris Foss (a fairly new empolyee also a very nice gentleman) I went to the waiting area (very nice and inviting waiting area) while the wheel alignment was executed, after about 90 minutes Chris came in to inform me that the service technician could not get wheel alignment with in OEM specification in fact out of the 14 adjustments only 4 adjustments were made, when I asked why Chris told me the service technician did not have the proper equipment to do the work, I needed Infiniti (or local tire shop) also I would be paying for an incompleted wheel alignment as well, when I told Chris "this is unacceptable", just then a gentleman happen to be walking by that worked at Hill Nissan (I didn't get his name) Chris ask the gentleman to help explain what was happening with my vehicle, he begin to explain that they are a Nissan dealership and Infiniti has specialized equipment just for working on Infiniti and most Nissan dealership don't buy Infiniti equipment because they don't work on enough Infiniti vehicles to justify the cost of buying Infiniti specialized equipment or training service technicians to work on Infiniti vehicles (sounds like a lot of who shot John). And then he said "I know that some Nissan and Infiniti look very similar but when getting the vehicle service you need to take your vehicle to the proper dealerships, understand sir"(did he just try to blame me for bringing my vehicle to Hill Nissan for service). I responded that's why I came in a few days earlier to talk to Joey Barone (Assistant Service Manager) about getting a 4 wheel alignment. Joey informed me, "that is a basic service and many local tire shops could do it and Hill Nissan should have no problem with a simple 4 wheel alignment besides, Infiniti and Nissan are basically the same car no difference both are made by Nissan, Infiniti just cost a whole lot more to own". After hearing my response the gentleman started to walk back what he was saying. When I asked him if he thought it was fair for me to be paying for something that was not done, he suddenly had somewhere to go and just left. Bottom line I paid the bill 115.51, but it left a bitter taste More
