I bought my CR-V at this location in April 2019. I’ve only used them on any maintenance work and have been happy with their workmanship. All associates are extremely courteous and friendly. Disrespectful and Unwilling to Negotiate—Hill Country Honda is Not Worth Your Time I came into Hill Country Honda today with the intent to buy two vehicles—a Honda Odyssey and a Honda Accord. I had al Honda is Not Worth Your Time I came into Hill Country Honda today with the intent to buy two vehicles—a Honda Odyssey and a Honda Accord. I had already worked out the numbers online with Chris Cooks, who gave me a fair deal, including a $695 add-on package for the Odyssey. Everything was set for me to finalize the purchase. From the moment I arrived, things were off. No receptionist, no customers—just John Meledez chatting with another salesperson by the door. When John greeted me, his attitude made it clear that he wasn’t interested in working with me. He told me that the 2024 Odyssey I had worked the deal on was no longer available but that they had 2025 models. I was fine with that, so my family and I checked out the 2025 Odyssey EXL. We all loved it, and I was ready to move forward. However, once we sat down to discuss numbers, John hit me with a $1,795 add-on package—the same package I had already negotiated down to $695 with Chris. When I reminded him of this, he didn’t even try to work with me. He basically said that the price was non-negotiable, and it was clear he had no interest in making a deal. The worst part? John acted offended that I even wanted to negotiate at all. It’s as if walking into a car dealership and asking for a better deal was insulting to him. Last I checked, negotiating prices is a normal part of buying a car, but John clearly didn’t get that memo. I also told him that I’ve been in the car business for over 15 years, having run a Honda dealership myself, and I’m currently a manager at a Kia dealership. As soon as I mentioned that, John’s attitude shifted from dismissive to outright rude. He raised his voice and said, “I’m not going to do the legwork for you. If you want the price, just check online.” This guy was yelling at me in front of my wife and kids and other customers. I wasn’t asking for anything unreasonable—I just wanted to make sure the numbers made sense, like anyone would. Instead of treating me like a serious buyer, John acted like I was wasting his time. To make matters worse, John refused to appraise my trade-in. He didn’t even take my keys. He came back with a piece of paper showing full MSRP plus that $1,795 package and acted like that was the end of it. No discounts, no trade-in value—just the numbers thrown at me with zero effort to close the deal. What’s even more frustrating is that the managers sat in the back the whole time, completely ignoring the situation. Not one of them stepped in to resolve the issue. It’s like they didn’t care that their salesperson was treating a serious customer like this. Let me also make it clear just how much Hill Country Honda lost today. I was ready to make a four-car deal. Not only was I planning to buy two cars—a 2025 Honda Odyssey and a 2025 Honda Accord—but I was also trading in my 2021 Honda Odyssey and 2021 Honda Accord. Both of those vehicles could have been certified and resold by the dealership, making them a profit on all four vehicles. But John’s ego and refusal to negotiate cost them all four deals. For anyone considering shopping here, let me be clear: That $1,795 package is not negotiable. They won’t take it off, and they will act like you’re in the wrong for even asking. Hill Country Honda’s online prices are misleading because once you show up, they hit you with extra fees and refuse to work with you. More
