I can hardly believe how much the QUALITY of this Service Department has plummeted since the last time I brought my wife's car to them for service, about 6 months ago!!! First problem was when I pulled up & told the guy who came out to greet me that her maintenance reminder was showing a code A, 1, 2, which according to the owner's manual is for an oil change (no new filter), tire rotation & change the engine air filter. 1 HOUR later the guy called my name & told me that they had changed the oil & filter (code B). I said "what about the other stuff?" & he said "what other stuff?" I reiterated to him about the codes that were showing up in the maintenance reminder, and he said that I had only asked for the oil/filter change. That MAY be the case, but he hadn't truly been LISTENING to me at the beginning anyway, and I had left the codes displayed on the screen when I gave him the key fob. What kind of Service Advisor/Mechanic needs a customer to tell them what the maintenance codes stand for? - a very INCOMPETENT one!! So he went back outside to talk to the mechanic again, and finally about 30 minutes later he came back into the waiting room & called my name again. This time he had a very dirty engine air filter in his hand. He began by explaining to me that they did not rotate my tires bcuz the 2 with the most wear were already on the back axle (front wheel drive) but they didn't charge me for it either. BTW, tire wear is caused not only from driving the car forward & back, but from TURNING corners which the 2 on the front axle most definitely do. (hint, hint) So then he showed me the extremely filthy engine air filter, and I couldn't figure out why since it had been the "2" on the maintenance reminder codes. He said that my filter really needed to be changed, and I replied that I was aware of that since it was one of the codes!! He then told me that the coupon I had given him did not cover that, so I asked him how much, and he said another $50!! I told him to go ahead and do it since they already had it removed anyway, and I didn't want any gunk getting knocked loose and into the intake, but for that absolutely RIDICULOUS price I will go to Rock Auto or O'Reilly next time and get one for probably not even 1/3 of that cost and put it in myself for FREE!!! So now for the last straw in this very sad tale of mine; it used to be the case that whenever you got any kind of Service done at Hill Country Honda, they would give you a free car wash before they turned the keys back over to you. I went there once and simply got the air pressure in her tires checked and I still got a free car wash!! NOT ANYMORE!!! I probably wouldn't mind so much if the "grease xxxxxx" mechanic hadn't left his OILY fingerprints ALL OVER the edges of every door & window & the hood of her car!!! I'm NOT going to go and get it washed until they contact me with an apology and an offer for a free car wash!!! Seriously??!! No wonder there are places popping up a around town where you can get routine maintenance performed for WAY LESS than the price of going to the dealerships!!! After all, they don't get those big, fancy buildings for free and somebody has to pay for them!! BTW, we found out that Hill Country Honda is owned by the exact same rip-off joint that we used to go to over in Houston - John Eagle Honda!!!! Why does that not surprise me??!!! More
