Untrustworthy I’ve been a loyal Toyota customer for 50 years owning 20 Toyota and Lexus cars over the years. The cars have been great as has my dealer experience - I’ve been a loyal Toyota customer for 50 years owning 20 Toyota and Lexus cars over the years. The cars have been great as has my dealer experience - until now. We’ve purchased 4 cars ($120,000) recently from Hiland Toyota. We were planning to buy a used car for one of our family. We Selected a car from Hiland’s inventory, met with a salesman to commit to buy it, offered a deposit to hold it until our nephew arrived (the following morning). The salesman refused a deposit saying “I’ll take the keys and hide it on the back lot”. Just before our nephew arrived (less than 12 hours from my commitment to buy and the saleman’s Commitment to sell, I get a call from the salesman saying the car had sold. I understand contract and dealership law and the importance of consideration but I also understand ethics. Hiland demonstrated that it is an unethical, untrustworthy dealer. We will buy another used car for my nephew and buy and service all of our future Toyota’s elsewhere. More

We will continue to purchase our new vehicles there and recommend Dan Larson our salesman along with Hiland Toyota. We have also had wonderful experiences with the service department when we have to to get oil changes/tire rotations, etc. We have had Hiland service install equipment purchased and as with purchasing new vehicles, our experience was excellent every time. Eventually, I took my business elsewhere because of the questionable service at Hiland. Only because of an online deal, did I give Hiland another final chance. My Sienna went in for an oil change and tire rotation. I was told I needed to replace my driver's side running light bulb. I agreed. Then I was told it was not the bulb afterall, but something in the wiring that would require a $50 diagnostic. I refused that and left. The Sienna was looked at it by another independent mechanic. Within minutes of looking under my hood, they noticed a fuse was missing. That fuse was replaced and instantly the bulb works! This just verified to the mechanic and myself how Hiland does "business". Hiland has COMPLETELY LOST MY TRUST AND LOYALTY as a customer. More

Left there parking lot with bumper to bumper warranty but the dealer ship falsely put the the wrong miles down and than took my warranty away and sold me a warrant that wouldn't cover a thing so now I'm stuck with a truck that needs about 3to4000 in repairs I could of put that money in my explore and made it A nice explore. But no waste of time , money , and trust in this car dealership . Only out to make a profit and will turn there backs on you if you ask for help. More
Why everyone hates going to a dealership. I bought a used truck that had hidden problems where tbeir answer was, well the service manager decides if we tell if it has major know problems. Whike on my way home check engine light goes on, air goes out. As is! Friends buy a van, no problems declared by this dealership. It was found to be a Hertz rental that had been in a major accident with bent frame. This dealership lied like my truck on car fax and would not honor repairs. Lonnie and the team know well what their doing to people. Better business, attorneys contacted. They know they have you over a barrel. Beware! More
Terrible customer service I honestly can say I had a pretty decent buying experience and was happy with my sales man and payment guy. But here it is 5 weeks later and I'm getting speeding tickets in the mail out of Cedar Rapids for 70 in a 55 for the vehicle I traded in. I'm extremely dissapointing that a dealership of this size is driving around on customer plates. Expired plates might I add (part of why I wasn't to worried about taking them off). I call the dealership to inform them of what's going on, the girl puts me on hold. Comes back and says well you'll just have to go to court. I reply by saying this I know my point in calling was you might want to know your driving around on customer plates and whoever you have driving vehicles to the auction is doing 70 in a 55. She said hold on and I'll transfer you to our manager. She comes back on a minute or two later saying, well he says you'll just have to go to court and fight it. I'm really glad your manager is far to busy to accept a legitimate phone call from an annoyed customer because of your dealerships unethical practices. Amazing customer service. You just made sure me or any of my family would never spend a dime at your dealership again. Extremely dissapointing. More
