I purchased a 2015 Mercedes from Highline Imports in November, 2023. After I arrived home that day, I noticed a burnt oil smell. I assumed it was because some oil spilled when their employee changed the November, 2023. After I arrived home that day, I noticed a burnt oil smell. I assumed it was because some oil spilled when their employee changed the oil. However, two months later the smell was still there so I took it to a local German car repair specialist. They told me that the timing cover and camshaft cover were leaking oil onto the exhaust causing the smell and possible fire risk. Their repair estimate was over $4000. I took the car to another German car repair specialist for a second opinion. They had the same diagnosis and estimate. Because the burnt oil smell is very obvious after driving the car and because both German car repair specialists told me the oil leak was obvious when looking at the engine, I must believe that this dealer knew about the problem before they sold me the car. The first time I called to inquire about the vehicle I was told they had just took a deposit on it so it was no longer available.
