2013 Ford Edge I called for Alex and he worked me in imeadiatly, they were super helpful. We test drove a couple vehicles. Checked credit karma daily and found a hard inquiry on 12/8/16 witout my permission. Received a 📞 from Jennifer in customer service on 12/9/16, stating that Darren had placed my 📂 on her desk for follow up, the file showed a 2016 Chevy Cruze that Darren NEVER discussed with me. Jennifer said that she would have Darren give me a 📞. Its been 3 days and no 📞 from Darren. More
Very Satisfied Customer!!!! Ok, so, first of all, I'd like to start by saying, I may be a whiz kid with computers, but when it comes to cars, whether it be working on them, buyin Ok, so, first of all, I'd like to start by saying, I may be a whiz kid with computers, but when it comes to cars, whether it be working on them, buying them, anything, I'm a neophyte. I've never bought my own car before and my credit score shows it (0). The car I had to trade in was a piece of xxxx. It was an '02 Pontiac Sunfire that had become unsafe and a money pit. I was constantly having to repair it and the brakes were not working correctly. So when I came into the store I was desperate and needed a car. I had some BAD experiences before with other used car lots when I attempted to buy one on my own, without my Dad. EZ-Way tried to foist a '08 PT Cruiser on me for $9,000 when it was only worth $4,000. If it hadn't been for my Dad intervening, I'd have been saddled with a $400 a month car payment for a car that wasn't even close to being worth it. So, needless to say, especially since I'd never even heard of Hickory Used Car Superstore before, I fully expected to be ripped off. At that point, I no longer cared though, as I FLAT OUT NEEDED A CAR. When I came up, the first person who greeted my wife and I was Darren Stilwell. an older man in his late 40's. Not ancient of course, just old enough to be my father. I immediately took to him for that reason I believe. He was warm, friendly, and empathized with me as I explained our situation and how badly we needed a car. I expressed my concerns over what happened to us at EZ-Way, and he quickly dispelled any notion that anything of that nature would happen under his watch. He assured me that, if he was allowed to, he would put me in the best possible car for me. We started the application process and got denied by bank after bank for a loan. Darren and the managers tried their best and worked hard until, finally, one bank approved us. Darren went outside, pulled up a 2015 Chrysler 200 S, and let us test drive it. Then we came back and started the process of setting up the loan. When the bank required a down payment we couldn't afford, Darren and the Sales Manager (Stephen or Chris or both can't remember which one) haggled with the bank to get it down to a more affordable payment for us. When all was said and done, I left feeling like I had done alright for myself, but I still wanted to check with my Dad, who, unfortunately, couldn't be there due to work. I left with the car and drove it to Mooresville to show the car to my in-laws. Gary, my father-in-law, was against it at first, because he was worried about us making a car payment. But once I told him the terms, he was more agreeable. Then I drove the car to my father's house and showed it to him. My Dad is a MASTER mechanic who has been working on cars since before I was born. He can take a car completely apart and put it back together again and have it still work. He looked it over, test drove it, and peppered me with questions about the loan, warranty, etc. I answered them all and he said, "Son, you got a better deal than I got on my car. I can't say anything bad about it. It's a good deal." I left feeling a LOT better. We came back to the store and paid the down payment two days later on Wednesday the 30th of November. Everything went swimmingly, the signing, the paperwork, and everything else. That was that, I had a new, or at least new to me, car. One thing I'd like to point out that I LOVED about the atmosphere of the store was the sense of camaraderie around the store. The sales manager was awesome and funny (Stephen); and the other guy (Chris) sitting with him too. They made me feel at ease and we had fun ripping on Darren for being long-winded. You know, just busting each others' xxxxx, like guys do. All in all, I'd give this place of business a 100 out of 100 for sales experience, sense of caring, and not screwing me over when it would have been extremely easy to do so, considering my situation and my lack of knowledge about cars. They've definitely made a customer for life, or as long as they're in business. The next time I need a car or truck, I'm coming to Hickory Used Car Superstore. More

If she doesn't know the answer she lets us know she doesn't handle that part but I know who does. Then she finds solutions working with the finance manager, Cody. Cody is awesome too! We only had one experience of another car salesman that was rude to Marti in our presence. That made us uneasy and Marti was doing a great job filling out paperwork. Didn't ask for help. He just comes in saying let me show you a thing or two and wouldn't stop when she replied, "I got this" .. Marti does not know we are sharing this. Sometimes people need to be exposed of inappropriate behavior. It can turn a customer away. We would recommend this dealership to anyone. Your company is lucky to have Marti working with you.
