I never write reviews but feel this deserves one. We flew out to pick up a car from HI-Lo and found out we were being sold a could be nice car by a bunch of liars. We walked out of the deal on principal as we could not support them. We were told this navigator has new tires, new battery, in perfect condition. Turns out battery had corrosion on it and was from 2018, tires had cracks in them and were dated 2019. And the entire bottom of the tailgate was rusted with bubbling paint that had already started to crack off. The salesman said, It wasn't rust but just peeling paint. Complete lie. This car was priced over NADA but we're willing to pay that if in condition as they stated, and advertised. The sales manager couldn't even do my husband the decency of coming out of his office to discuss after my husband had flown out there with intentions to drive over a thousand miles home. Mike was our salesperson, who was either misinformed or intentionally deceiving, and Andy was the salesman who said he was with a client while my husband waited for 40 minutes outside his office and could clearly see he wasn't with anyone. A friend suggested I view the inventory of vehicles posted on the Hi-Lo Auto Sales website. The name means Hi quality Lo prices. I was impressed with the assortment of vehicles on display as well as most of the prices. I completed an on-line form to make an inquiry about one of the vehicles that caught my eye. Shortly after submitting the form, I received a phone call from Ms. Desia Hartwell. Desia works at the Hi-Lo Auto Sales located at 5616 Urbana Pike in Frederick Maryland. Desia was very pleasant and professional. I explained to Desia that I needed a reliable car for my granddaughter as well as the price range I was working within. Desia said she had a couple of vehicles that fit my criteria and emailed me the links to their pictures and descriptions/details. Lo and behold, Desia provided me with information on a late model, low mileage vehicle in almost new condition at very reasonable price! As you may know, due to shortages caused by the pandemic, this is not the best time to purchase a car, however, Desia was able to offer me this vehicle at a very reasonable price! I went to the dealership and met Desia and Mr. Allan Persaud, the Finance Manager. Allan was also pleasant and professional. Allan worked with me to obtain the best interest rate on a loan based on my circumstances. Working with Desia and Allan to buy this car was a very pleasant experience! They both made me feel comfortable and were sincerely concerned that I was satisfied with my buying experience. If you need to buy a car, especially during these days of the vehicle shortage, do yourself a favor and check out the inventory at Hi-Lo Auto Sales. 100% do not recommend doing business with this place! Worst experience trying to purchase a used vehicle. I had already put a down payment on a vehicle and was ready to purchase but questioned fees and the Finance Manager, Allen cost the dealer my business and this negative review for his lack of professionalism, respect, and customer service. DO NOT attempt to finance through this dealership, you will get scammed if you do not ask questions. Finance Manager is extremely unprofessional, condescending, and just flat-out rude. He yelled and was disrespectful to my brother and me for just asking questions about the extended warranty fee. The only positive thing I can say is that my downpayment was refunded ONLY because I was smart enough not to sign the paperwork and asked for clarification of the fees on the sales contract. More
