I told them that I was from Texas and was planning on driving the car from Maryland to Austin, TX. The check engine light was on when I test drove the car but Cherri assured me that their mechanic was fantastic and would perform their inspection of the car and make sure everything was perfect before they sent me on the long trip back home. The car also came with a 6,000 mile warranty. When I picked the car up the check engine light was turned off and I was told that it was just a sensor and was no big deal. The check engine light came back on the next day while I was driving back to Texas. During the trip down I started to smell burning oil. Gauges were all OK and my friend who drove down with me knows cars pretty well and he said it was likely just an oil leak and we would be good to continue. When I was finally able to get my car into a shop to take a look I was told that there were several issues with the car. I thought I was covered by the warranty… I was not. Nothing was covered. When I called the dealership and told them that they had let me drive a car all the way to Texas with almost $6,600 worth of repairs needed. Andre, one of the managers, basically told me that he didn’t believe me and that I probably damaged the car and they weren’t going to do anything about it. I said OK but that I was going to write a review describing my experience there. I rather quickly received a call back from Mark, the general manager, who asked me not to write a review and he would look into what happened. I told him that I would go get a second opinion on the car as I was not looking to take advantage of the dealership or screw anyone over. I just want the car fixed. The second opinion cost me $200. They confirmed everything the other garage said and even found a few other issues with the car. I sent Mark over both if the quotes. At that point he informed me that they weren’t going to do anything about the car but he has some contacts over at the warranty company that he could call because they were supposed to cover gaskets and leaks. He asked me to give him a few days to work something out and to call back in 3 days. I asked the mechanics at both garages if the problems with the car could have all sprang up in the last month. They both agreed that due to the oil build up and the issues the car has that it was extremely unlikely that the damages happened on my watch and that the issues were extremely easy to locate and any mechanic could spot them without issue. All that happened over two weeks ago and every time I call the dealership it goes to voicemail… EVERYTIME, no matter what time or which day I call… I have called multiple times. It pretty safe to say they are now ducking my calls. I have found them to be completely unprofessional, lazy and could not give a rat’s xxx about their customers. Hi Lo is just another sketchy car dealership that turns a profit from screwing over their customers. At this point I am stuck with a $6,600 bill plus the $400 I spent on getting the car looked at by two different garages and NO ONE at the dealership with pick up my calls or return the numerous voicemails I have left. I’m shocked they are still in business if this is how they operate. I would highly recommend shopping anywhere else. They don’t deserve your money as they have shown that they have no problem lying just to make a buck at your expense. I just hope that my xxxxty experience can steer others clear of this dumpster fire of a dealership. More
Will not sell for price advertised! On 7/28/20 I saw a 2008 Nissan Quest advertised for $6995 at Hi Low AutoSales. The van was at the Ellicott City Dealership. I live in York Pa and I have twin autistic teenagers. My wife and I have a full plate when it comes to caring for them. I called the Cockeysville dealership and spoke to Cherri Stevenson who told me they could transfer the vehicle to their dealership but a buyers order needed to be completed. I wasn't sure what that entailed. I did want to look it over and test drive it. Cherri Stevenson told me she would Email a copy of the buyers order. When I got a photo of the buyers order Emailed to me the selling price of the Nissan Quest was not $6995 but $8595 and there was a $300 processing fee.. Really? I Emailed Cherri Stevenson and told her that the listing price for the Nissan Quest was for $6995 and I didn't want to pay a processing fee. I told her I would just keep looking. Cherri Stevenson Emailed me back and stated that she would talk to her manager about the processing fees and call me the next day. No phone call the next day. Really?? On a good note Dennis Caswell from the Ellicott City store did send me photos of the van and was helpful. More
