I went to Heritage looking for a Rav4 Prime. I was introduced to Alex Kaftol to help me. Don't be fooled by Alex's youthful look, like I almost was. I traded a leased Ford F-150 in for a !!!DO NOT BUY FROM HERITAGE TOYOTA!!!! I recently purchased a vehicle from Heritage Toyota Owings Mills, MD. I traded a leased Ford F-150 in for a 2021 Toyota Tacoma on July 26, 2021. The general manager John Kim assured me that he could buy my lease out and all remaining payments. The buy out was not processed on time and Ford ended up charging me for another payment. I immediately notified John Kim, he explained Ford would not accept payment unless it was through some software program and Ford kept denying it for some reason. Then a week later John Kim tells me Ford has to come inspect the vehicle to make sure its actually at the location. I am then told the payment had finally been processed and John Kim informed me he paid 6-9 thousand dollars more than what our contract had stated. I was blown away at a mistake this big and immediately experienced extreme anxiety about getting my money back that was not supposed to be taken. John Kim the general manager, then told me he is waiting on a notarized document from Ford stating the purchase amount and releasing the title. He explained he needs this document in order to pay me the $424.42 that was not supposed to be taken from me. Today is September 14, 2021 and I just got off the phone with John Kim maybe 2 hours ago. He informed me that I should be contacting Ford for the money and that he can’t do anything to help me. I was verbally reprimanded and told to listen to him on the phone because he became angry for whatever reason. I deserve my money back and will be taking all necessary steps in order to see it happens. I am a veteran that served this country proudly and all I was looking for was an honest car deal. This process has been horrible and caused me great emotional stress at an already difficult time. I urge everyone who reads this DO NOT purchase a vehicle from them. I was ignored this entire time, I had to call 20 plus times before John Kim would call me back and not once did he initiate a phone call. I truly don't know how this man is a general manager but don't believe his lies and play it safe, shop else where. More
