26May2020 I dropped my Jeep with a check engine light on at Heritage Harrisburg. The Jeep drove fine minus the check engine light. I am told they need to replace the oil cooler, oil pressure sensor and plug at Heritage Harrisburg. The Jeep drove fine minus the check engine light. I am told they need to replace the oil cooler, oil pressure sensor and plugs while they are in there. The following day I am called stating I have a blown piston and Heritage Service Manager Art Fritz told me I would have to replace the engine at $6k to $9k. Heritage Service refused to release my Jeep for a 3rd party inspection without payment of $962 for the service. I reluctantly make payment and the third party looks at the motor and provide photographic evidence that Heritage Jeep mechanic dropped a bolt into my piston chamber and subsequently started my engine and blew my engine. Heritage Jeep Parkville Service Director Matt Beckman was responsive and helpful. He forwarded the situation to the MileOne Heritage Autogroup Insurance. The insurance company is replacing the motor but the GM at Heritage Harrisburg has failed to acknowledge or even respond to multiple attempts to contact him regarding recouping the $962 in parts and labor that is the direct cause of my engine failure. Not only has the GM failed to contact me, the service manager was directing me that the payment would be refunded through insurance and the insurance company states it needs to be paid by the dealer. Thus, I am still playing middle man with out my jeep and without my money back. I hope Heritage Jeep Harrisburg does the right thing by contacting me, refunding my money and apologize for the hoops I have had to jump threw for the past 5 weeks with my Jeep that you broke and tried to get me to pay to fix. Otherwise this is an example of failure at the mechanics level, service manager level and GM level. More
They took cold hard advantage of my husband he went in to get a battery for his truck the battery was $140 the labor to put it in was $276 they told him he needed another part that was $407 the labor for th get a battery for his truck the battery was $140 the labor to put it in was $276 they told him he needed another part that was $407 the labor for that was $760 plus all the miscellaneous labor charges end up paying $1,114 and some change for a battery change. My husband the type of man that impatient so will pay whatever they ask but this is cold hearted very bad business we in a pandemic state and they overcharged and people are trying to get as much money as he can. Will not be back here to high in theses hard times More

First time having this location service my VW. A maximum 2 week job turned out to be over a month. Out of pocket exspenses for a rental also came along with that. Technicians documented false statements confirming my heat to work. After I told the advisor repeatedly it was not working. The very next day after picking up my vehicle, my car wouldn’t start ! Not to mention I was on my way to work and had to call road side assistance for a jump start. I then had to return my vehicle back to VW Parkville & receive a loaner. They then told me I needed a new battery and also one of the parts for my heater was faulty. Which goes back to my original comment about the technicians making false reports after I already told them it wasn’t. Long story short although this location is 7min from me, Id rather drive 30min to continue my vehicle care with the VW Owings Mills location More
