I bought my used vehicle 4 days ago from feedom chrysler jeep. It is a 07 nissan pathfinder. Yesterday it would not start. I had to get it jumped and then I took it to the service department. I asked fo jeep. It is a 07 nissan pathfinder. Yesterday it would not start. I had to get it jumped and then I took it to the service department. I asked for a rental vehicle for the day. They told me that I should have scheduled this 2 weeks in advance. Having bought the car 4 days ago, I didn’t plan on it not starting. I thought this was ridiculous! They claim to be able to give you a rental when your vehicle is being serviced, especially if you just bought the car 4 days prior. The service there was unprofessional and rude. They didn’t care that I just bought the car and had to miss work to take it in, or that I have 3 kids to get from school. All they cared about was getting their money. I spoke to the owner Evelyn, she told me that she would try to find us a rental, and then hung up on me. If I would have known that only 4 days after purchasing this vehicle I would have these issues already I would not have got a car there! They obviously didn’t care about my car not starting, or they would have replaced it before they sold it to me! I will tell everyone about my experience there! I strongly suggest to not buy a vehicle from freedon crysler jeep and I suggest not using the service department. I want to update my thoughts on freedom chrysler jeep. Evelyn(the owner) called me today to apologize for the expierence I had. She was sincere and seemed to really care about what had happened. I do not want to tarnish the reputation of freedom crylser jeep, Evelyn, or her staff. I only wanted to give the honest facts about what had happened to me. Evelyn explained to me that she was not aware that the phone had hung up. I do believe that it was disconnected upon trasfering me to another person. Yet after it hung up, I did call right back and left a message, which was not returned. I understand accidents happen, but it is hard to not be upset with the experience I had with them. I still feel that my battery should have been fixed before I purchased the car and that I should have recieved a rental. But I do very much appreciate the apology and concern I recieved from Evelyn. I will consider giving Freedom crysler jeep a second chance. Actions speak louder than words, and I will keep updating my encounters as I have them.,,hopefully the next post will be a positive one! Had Van inspected June, 2010. Front brakes were 4B, Rear were 7B, both qualified as passing inspection. Decided to minimize cost of new brakes all at once, so I set appointment to have front brakes done on were 7B, both qualified as passing inspection. Decided to minimize cost of new brakes all at once, so I set appointment to have front brakes done on Jan. 31, 2011 with the intention of doing the rear brakes during the upcoming inspection in June, 2011. Only 8700 additional miles since last inspection. Waited for 1 hour 20 minutes for them to come out to tell me that the front brakes were now at 3B and the front rotors would either need turned down or replaced. To do brakes and turn rotors, cost would be $280 plus tax. If it needed new rotors, the cost would be $480 plus tax. Believing that it would only need the rotors turned, I told them to proceed with the front brake replacement. Indeed it did only need the rotors turned so my final bill was $297.44. After now being there for a total of 3 1/2 hours I reluctantly paid that price. After having a chance to think, that nearly $300 for a front brake job was excessively high, I decided to call Brenner Chrysler and without telling them the circumstances, asked for a price to do the exact same work. They gave me a low end price of $180 plus tax and a high end price of $210 plus tax if there were any problems. That meant I paid from $87 to $117 more at Freedom than I would have at Brenner. I then called the Firestone dealer where I purchase tires and asked them for a price, again without giving out any ideas other than I was just a customer calling for a price. They quoted me one price of $158.99 including tax. A savings over Freedom's price of $138. I then called Freedom and spoke with Alan , the Service Manager to ask if there was a mistake in my cost or whether all their prices are that high. He told me he would check things out and get back to me. That was over a week ago and I still have not heard from him. If that is how you operate, don't count on seeing me again even though I bought this vehicle from you. Being a retiree, I have enough trouble trying to make ends meet with the Government taking all my money, I don't need to deal with someone else taking the crumbs that are left! Get competitors prices before you have any work done here if you have any work done here! ** UPDATE - 2/11/11 ** Within 3 hours of posting the above comments, I received a call from Alan, the Service Manager, telling me he had done his research and found that their price for new brakes was high for our area based on other dealers in the area and that they now would be adjusting that cost along with any others that may be out of line for the area. Most had already been done but one or two may have been missed. I am told that Alan was not aware of my review at the time of his call. He also said they would send me a refund check for the amount I was charged above the norm. The refund amount he quoted was fair and acceptable to me. I also received an Email and later a phone call from John Bobo, their Internet Coordinator, in his effort to make sure that my concerns were being responded to and that I was taken care of in a satisfactory manner. I assured him that I was! I wanted to do this follow up so that I could make a statement that the real issue here is not that they may have made a mistake in some of their pricing for certain repairs, for that can happen to every business. The real issue and what is most important to me is how Freedom responded to my concerns in a complete and expeditious manner. Their response to the situation was not only satisfactory, it was done in a professional manner. They accepted my negative review, corrected the problem and turned the entire situation into a positive experience. First of all, I must commend DealerRater.com, the company that devised this online ability for customers to either tell of their satisfaction or of their displeasure with Auto Dealerships and the service they provide. I truly wish they would expand the types of businesses for which they provide this service. It would provide Consumers of all service types with an ability to praise the good work that is done or to vent their frustration when it is not. Secondly, I want to commend Freedom Toyota Scion of Harrisburg, for being professional enough to implement this feedback system on their website showing that they are not afraid of negative feedback being displayed because they know they will be there to correct any problems that may arise. Freedom Management and Staff, thank you all for your dedication to ensuring that my visit with you was a satisfactory experience. I will see you around June for my annual inspection!! More
The dealership sold me a "3/36 Bumper to Bumper" warranty that does not cover certain parts. They charged me 49.99 to tell me that the problem with my vehicle was not covered by the warrant Bumper" warranty that does not cover certain parts. They charged me 49.99 to tell me that the problem with my vehicle was not covered by the warranty THEY sold me. Also when I picked up my vehicle there is a new problem with my vehicle. You should not buy a new or used vehicle from them. They misrepresent the products they sell. More
I recently had my jeep in for a noise in the left front wheel. Freedom (Heather Luta) told me two people drove my jeep and couldn't reproduce the noise. They had my vehicle for over 8 hours and accomplis wheel. Freedom (Heather Luta) told me two people drove my jeep and couldn't reproduce the noise. They had my vehicle for over 8 hours and accomplished nothing. I called multiple times and no one would return my call. I ended up just showing up at the dealership after several failed attempts to talk to someone. I drove the vehicle home approx. two miles from the dealership and the noise was still there and very apparent when bearing to the left on a curve. Apparently the Technician and Shop Foreman took it for a test drive... I don't think they really drove it or they would have heard it. Now I'm left feeling like they didn't even check it. If it's making a noise (squeaking when I turn left), something is obviously wrong. I don't feel like I can trust them and feel safe driving the vehicle. My vehicle at the time of service 01/19/11 had 24,757 miles on it. The noise is still there and I hear it multiple times a day (every day). On January 29th, I returned to the dealership for a scheduled oil change and asked them to check the differential (while they were installing another fan motor for my heater). They changed the oil and there was no mention of the differential on the paperwork when I got home. Is this part of the regular oil changes and fliud check? In addition, I thought maybe the squeaking in my front wheel would be gone after everything was changed (possible fluid level issue), but it wasn't. Now I'm debating on whether or not I need to drive out of my way and go to another dealership. More
I HAD MINOR BODY WORK DONE ON MY JEEP LIBERTY, GRILL REPLACEMENT AND PAINT. THE ESTIMATE WAS $500.96 AND THE FINAL BILL WAS $581.52. THIS WAS AN INSURANCE CLAIM SO I DIDN'T GET INVOLVED. HOWEVER, WHE REPLACEMENT AND PAINT. THE ESTIMATE WAS $500.96 AND THE FINAL BILL WAS $581.52. THIS WAS AN INSURANCE CLAIM SO I DIDN'T GET INVOLVED. HOWEVER, WHENEVER REPAIR COSTS CHANGE, THE CONSUMER SHOULD BE NOTIFIED PRIOR TO THE WORK. OTHER THAN THAT, GREAT SHOP, GREAT FOLKS TO WORK WITH. More
The transmission on my 2003 Chrysler Sebring stopped working at 82,000 miles. I had it towed to Freedom Chrysler Jeep where I have the car serviced to have it checked out. Kelly (service representative) working at 82,000 miles. I had it towed to Freedom Chrysler Jeep where I have the car serviced to have it checked out. Kelly (service representative) called to tell me that it needed a new transmission and it would cost $ 3,600.00. She said that they would check with Chrysler to see if they would provide some of the cost since the car was serviced and cared for through them. A new rebuilt Chrysler transmission and torque converter were installed for less than $ 1,500.00, which was far less than a transmission shop would have charged. I know that at Freedom Chrysler, I received a quality job with quality Chrysler parts and a three year warranty. They also provided me with a free loaner car for two weeks while they checked with Chrysler and made the repairs. Great people and a great place to have your car serviced. They were wonderful !!! We were visiting Hershey PA (from NY) for a basketball tournament for our daughter and got in late on a Friday evening having significant brake noise after we finished our highway drive. I called 2 deale tournament for our daughter and got in late on a Friday evening having significant brake noise after we finished our highway drive. I called 2 dealerships and was told they could not fit us in to their service schedule, when I called Freedom I spoke with Dan Ward their service asst manager and he said he would see our vehicle today, recommended what time we should come and assured us he would have it taken care of. We have four children, and needed a vehicle he assured us he would help us with a rental if necessary, but thought it may not require too much time. He had a courtesy vehicle take us to a lunch spot and retail area and called us one hour later that the vehicle was done. The entire thing was covered under warranty, however, the major issue was that we had a car issue and Dan and Freedom took care of us expediently and with great care and compassion for our situation. Thanks. More
