Recently I went there for repairs needed on my Corolla which had a check engine light on. Every single person that I came in contact with in this department could not do enough to make sure my car got diagnosed in a timely manner and repaired the same day! They do recommend service that my vehicle is due for which sometimes is higher in price in comparison to some backyard garage, however the sayin is "you get what you pay for" I always thought dealers were over-priced until the service team here explained very thorough the "difference" between factory parts and aftermarket. Im not very car savy and it was extremely helpful and appreciated that they were able to demonstrate the difference with visuals. They stand behind their repairs and justify with the up most knowledge the benefits and value of maintaining my toyota. Thank you Herb Chambers for being such a trustworthy shop! You have gained a customer and Jiffy Lube just lost one! More
I purchased my 2004 Toyota Matrix from Herb Chambers Toyota of Auburn and absolutely love the car (I considered a trade in for a new Matrix, but was less than pleased with the customer service the secon Toyota of Auburn and absolutely love the car (I considered a trade in for a new Matrix, but was less than pleased with the customer service the second time around, I found the salesman to be rude and pushy). As far as the garage goes, I've always been a little on the fence when it came to prices for service, but the customer service in the garage has always been alright, so I stuck with them. Until now. I brought my car in to have the breaks inspected as the front end was squeaking. They quoted me $570 to replace the front rotors, shims and pads. They wanted another $95 to clean and adjust my rear breaks (and also came up with another $350 worth of "recommendations" for work on the car). I told them I just couldn't afford it and picked the car up the same day and brought it to my father's mechanic (Jon Shugrue of Whole Sale Auto Repair in Oxford, MA 508-987-2140). Not only did he inform me that the extra $350 worth of work was entirely unnecessary (and if I did want any of it done in the future, it would cost me about half of what they quoted), he did my front breaks (rotors, pads and shims) for $390 and did the rear breaks for nothing (he says that when doing the front breaks the rear are always checked and cleaned to ensure the whole system is working properly). So Jon was able to fix my breaks for $275 less than Toyota quoted. That's a pretty significant difference to me, and I'm surely done with anything involving Herb Chambers Toyota for good. As for Jon at Whole Sale Auto Repair, I'll pay him my hard earned money any day of the week, it's a shop full of friendly and honest guys who I'm proud to bring my car to. More

Sales experience in 2003 great, bought a Camry and RAV4. Finance guys are very pushy - just say no to them. Service department is something else. Most service writers only interested in "selling" service Finance guys are very pushy - just say no to them. Service department is something else. Most service writers only interested in "selling" service - as much as they can. One got very aggressive and threatened a voided warranty if I didn't buy service over and above that recommended by the manufacturer. Examples of over service include severe service oil changes every 3000 miles. Manufacturer states 5000 miles. Cabin air filer replacement costs $99. The filter can be had for $19. It takes less than three minutes to replace it. There are many other examples. Beware the costs and read your factory manual. Don't trust the service departments "right out of the owner's manual" brochure. It's not true. More
