I can't even begin to tell you all of the problems I have had at Herb Chambers Mini of Boston - just don't go there - don't buy your car there and don't have it serviced there. I have to write more so here are some of my issues: 1) when I came in on a Sat for a scheduled appt, they were short handed. Instead of calling and rescheduling, they let me drive the 40 miles anyway. So I shortened the list of 7 or 8 items down to 3 because I had somewhere to be that evening and could not stay all day and wait. The idiot decided to try and fix some of the other items anyway (note that I said "try") and I missed my engagement - he basically held my car hostage when I told him "I WANT IT BACK NOW!". He also pressured me to set up a follow up appt and I said no that I needed to check my calendar. He set one up anyway and didn't tell me. I got an automated email a few days before the appt and I wasn't even in town - I was on vacation! 2) I called to make a follow up appt and had to leave a voicemail - nobody ever called me back. 3) I finally got the car an appt and went and spent all day waiting the Friday after Thanksgiving. They supposedly fixed everything. But they didn't they made it worse. 4) Back again to fix the one they made worse. Dropped it off on a Friday night and picked up a loaner since I was not going to wait all day again. Someone was supposed to call me the next day to discuss the issue. Nobody ever called. I emailed them and was told that this issue was not an issue, but just the design of the car. So there's ONE person at the dealer that knows this issue is not really an issue - I've had it in THREE TIMES and now find out - oh you have to live with water POURING into the car when you open the door or the window and it has been raining... Going to sell the d@mn car... More
I had a great experience at Herb Chambers Mini. Ian Miller was great and the process pleasureable and seamless. All the employees were freindly and made this experience very easy and fun. Ian is one of a few Salesmen I've worked with that had made the whole experience very comfortable and made me a very happy customer at the end. There was no rush from his part at all. He got the time to get to know us a bit before taking us out for a test drive. When we weren't really impressed with regular MINI, he took us out for a second test drive on the Cooper S. He was very diligent in getting us a match to our specifications. Even the Sales Manager wasn't giving us any high attitudes so many relatively high end car dealerships obtained and didn't rush us into making a decision at all. We did the trade through Cash for Clunker as most recent buyers did. We were anxious to have our car delivered as well, but Ian was very patience with us throughout the whole process. He'll return our calls or emails almost immediately. Informed us when all the paper works were done and send (the manager had stayed up until 2am to get all the paper work through). The only frustrating part is we didn't check all the paper work and that had delayed the approval process. Overall, the experience for great and excellent. I would recommend everyone to contact Ian Miller if you are interested in getting a MINI Cooper from Herb Chambers. More
Three weeks into a totally frustrating cash for clunkers deal. While I think Norm and Giovanni have done an adequate job of communications - it's clear that Herb Chambers Corporation itself has made a consc deal. While I think Norm and Giovanni have done an adequate job of communications - it's clear that Herb Chambers Corporation itself has made a conscious decision to violate the rules of this program. We can't get a clear answer on whether the paperwork has been fully submitted, whether the paperwork has been approved, if anyone's paperwork has been approved. Even though the CARS rules clearly state that they must deliver the new car immediately - they continue to refuse delivery. I know this program has been confusing for everyone - but Herb Chambers has taken it to a new level of frustration. I've bought three cars from them in the past - I certainly won't be buying one from them in the future. More
I bought my car from Herb Chambers MINI 11-1/2 months ago. It was a great experience. Since picking up the car it has been in twice for service. The first time for a new fuel pump. Fully covered under wa ago. It was a great experience. Since picking up the car it has been in twice for service. The first time for a new fuel pump. Fully covered under warranty and MINI Roadside Assistance sent a tow truck the 70 mile to my place of work to pick it. Had the car back in 48 hours. Now the car has just been in for its second time for the 1 year maintenance. Again this was a wonderful experience. I only waited about 1-1/2 hours for them to do all the first year maintenance stuff. Which they estimated would take about two hours. Their waiting room is very nice and they even have an area for business people to hook up to the internet so that they can keep up with their business. Thanks to Mark Ravin the MINI Service Manger for having such knowledgeable people. I would recommend Herb Chambers MINI to anyone needing MINI, BMW or Porsche Service. They do a fantastic job keeping their customers happy. More
I just brought a new Mini last week and had it delivered Wednesday. I have been into the showroom on a number of occasions and always have found them to be helpful and friendly. During my purchase they were all really great even though they were downright "swamped" do to the Federal CARS program in full swing. Cars were selling right before my eyes. When the car I wanted sold right before my eyes. Giovanni and Darnell were able to find one out of state just like I wanted and had it delivered by the first of the next week. I, for one, could not have been happy with everyone I worked with. More
I give Herb Chambers Mini a solid 5 out of 5 most of all because I love my Mini. I wasn't even sure I wanted a Mini and there was no pressure to buy, just friendly and courteous help at this dealership. T because I love my Mini. It is really fun to drive! I was a bit picky on the color and interior and was able to get the exact combination I wanted. The sales person who took me out, the sales manager and the finance manager were all awesome and they continue to help as I have questions about my new car. My car gets incredible gas mileage which is a bonus to the joy of driving it. More

After being told by another dealer (who i shall not name here)that I could not test drive a manual transmission car as their policy was that most drivers did not have enough experience driving manuals so th here)that I could not test drive a manual transmission car as their policy was that most drivers did not have enough experience driving manuals so they would not let any one drive a manual, I cam down from Maine 3+ hours and meet Richard Tran. Rich as he likes to be called was wonderful. He let me drive the manual Clubman that I was looking at. I did not expect them to have a car on the lot with all the options I wanted but they had one that was close enough. It was the correct color and a manual transmission. After the test drive Rich took me down to meet the service manager Mark Ravin. I had requested this as I live so far away it is nice to meet these people that you will need to deal with a few times a year. Mark reiterated the same info about emergency service as Rich had told me, and that was that MINI USA had Roadside assistance that would take car of me and get me to the closest dealer for no charge if I had a problem. Well after meeting Mark in service and Giovani the sales manager I ordered my car and was told it would take about 5 weeks for delivery. They were spot on and I now have a great new car. The one service problem I have had was taken care of immediately and without argument. Herb Chambers MINI has been the best sales and service I have ever had for a new car. Thanks to Rich, Giovani and Mark. You guys are great. More
My girlfirends son and I stopped by Herb Chambers MINI to look at one after doing a lot of research on the MINI's. The Salesman Richard Tran was a joy to work with.He was not pushy like so many car sales men look at one after doing a lot of research on the MINI's. The Salesman Richard Tran was a joy to work with.He was not pushy like so many car sales men are an he new the answer to every question we had but kept his distance so as to not seem overbearing. I had chosen the model I wanted and built it online but had questions as the web site did not explain everything. One of my big questions was about my dog. Would my 80 Black Lab fit in the car? I was moving from a large car to a small one and if my dog did not fit it would be a deal breaker. Rich asked if the dog was with us and I replied yes. I also told him that I hadbrought blankets with me to cover the inside of the car if he would alow us to see how wel she fit in the car. Rich agreed and we went out for a test drive and then checked to see how well my dog would fit in the car. She fits great and loves to go for rides with us. I can not say enough good things about Herb Chambers MINI and Richard Tran, Richards boss Geovani (I believe that was his name) was also very friendly and courteous. This has been the best experience purchasing a car that i have ever had an in have purchased 7 new cars in my 28 years of driving. None of the other experiences have have gone this easily. As I was ordering a car to my specifications i new going in that it would take some time (6 of the 7 I have purchased have been special order) and I was told to expect about 8 weeks wait to get the car. But to my surprise the car showed up in 5 weeks. I was over joyed when Richard Tran called me on a Saturday afternoon and told me that my car had just arrived. He told me that it would be ready for pickup on Monday anytime after mid day as they were working on getting the dealer installed options taken care of on a Sunday no less. Monday I picked up the car and Richard Tran spent two (2) full hours going over every option that the car had installed. He even paired my Bluetooth cellphone with the Hands Free System in the car. After this great experience I will definately go back and by another car at Herb Chambers MINI. More
