I first met Jim Sweeney thru my auto advisor Todd Downs ( Central One F.C.U.) Jim was very Professional and very helpful in finding the perfect vehicle for me (2012 Honda Accord LX w/15,000 miles) for a very Central One F.C.U.) I got the vehicle home and on the following day I heard a small noise in the front end. So I called Jim Sweeney back and he said to bring it right in which I did the next day and I was in contact with Tony Ngo who was the Assistant Service Manager who found the problem within 15 minutes of me being there and an 1 1/2 later fixing the problem and the vehicle is running perfect. There is a reason why I bought my Honda and will buy all future Honda's from Herb Chambers and that says something for someone that lives in New York City (200 miles away) My letter to Herb Chambers To Whom It May Concern: My Journey My Journey began on August 27th 2012 when I was up in Framingham vising family for a 10 year old cousin’s birthday party. At the party I did what any father of two young children would do, he hides away unless manning the grill or having a beer. I ended up online searching for minivans as our fast growing family had for some time outgrown the Subaru Outback we purchased in 2010. I came across Herb Chambers Honda of Westborough and searched through their site. I submitted a request for some price quotes to their online internet department and went back to tending to my beer outside. A short time later an unfamiliar phone number called me; it was Anthony from Herb Chambers Honda’s internet department. Anthony would become a person I will never forget in my lifetime, but I digress. He cheerfully asked me what I was looking for, how much, and other variables to aid in his search for the perfect vehicle for my family. After going back and forth a few times via email I got a call from Greg another amazing person who’s professionalism and sincerity would redefine my idea of car salesmen. I have lived in New York City for over 20 years and know how they operate here. It’s extremely cut throat and a deal isn’t a deal till you have the car key in your hand, you’ve had your paperwork checked by your lawyers, and you’re still wearing the pants you had on when you walked into the dealership. I was not expecting to actually get a deal but when I spoke with Greg we managed to work out the numbers and he said come down today and we could make this work. I was optimistic but not hopeful; I did not think we would actually come to terms when buying out of state and with so many variables. My wife and I managed to make it to the dealership post haste after the birthday party and we were greeted by Anthony Kent who then sent us over to Kevin Chandler. Kevin went through the motions helping us select the color, trim etc. Unfortunately we could not come to terms on the trade in and we wound up leaving but on good terms. Fast forward a month and we arrive at the end of September. Knowing how car dealerships operate I speak to Kevin and see if he can come up on the trade-in. He gets back to me and we have a deal. The deal had many variables; it required a trade-in, new plates, out of state registration the whole shebang. As Greg put it, everything that could have gone wrong with this deal including natural disaster (Hurricane Sandy) has happened! The list of things that could have thrown this deal off are too numerous to mention and honestly don’t matter. What does matter is the amazing sense of trust and perseverance everyone has put into making this deal happen. I would like to personally thank Kevin Chandler who unfortunately does not work for Herb Chambers any longer for his amazing attention to making our deal work. Anthony Kent whom last night 11/27/2012 at 12:08am personally delivered my Van to me here in New York City a good 200 miles away, the person who did everything in his power and then some, went above and beyond the duties of his daytime job. He is someone I can consider a great friend and I will not hesitate to give him my business in the future and anyone else shopping for a Honda for that matter. Greg the sales manager has been an amazing person throughout this whole ordeal. He has contacted me on a few occasions to update me on what was going on in terms of where our deal was. A sincere polite and understanding individual, I am sure I have driven him a bit crazy with how much work must have gone into this deal. Adam Tremblay from Finance has also been fantastic, reassuring me in regards to getting the paperwork sorted out and financing taken care of he has been nothing but a pleasure. I know I have called him more times than I can count to find out what was going on with this deal. I know that we are now and forever known as “The New York Deal” I want to end this 3 month long process exactly at 90 days from 8/27/2012 to delivery on 11/27/2012 with this note. You have a spectacular dealership that prides itself on honesty, commitment and integrity, all values that I myself take pride in. I will be making a personal promise that every single Honda I purchase in the future will be from Herb Chambers Honda of Westborough. Today you have gained a lifelong buyer as well as free publicity and praise to any Honda buyer that I know of here in New York. My mother will be purchasing a Honda next year and I promise you that car will be purchased at your dealership. When my lease is up on the Odyssey I will be purchasing my next one and the next and the next after that God willing from Anthony, Greg, and Adam. I would like this letter to make its rounds to everyone in the Herb Chambers Family and dealerships. True commitment to customer service is a multifaceted design that no amount of paid advertising can generate. It brings back repeat buyers, free positive press and publicity, new buyers in the form of family, friends and anyone I come in contact with, And a testament to what Herb Chambers stands for. My experience with the staff and service of Herb Chambers Honda of Westboro was nothing like I had expected. I'm a young woman and I was shopping alone for a car for the first time, but I knew exactly wha Honda of Westboro was nothing like I had expected. I'm a young woman and I was shopping alone for a car for the first time, but I knew exactly what I was looking for. On my visit I was hoping to browse their inventory and maybe test drive a car or two. I did not want to be pressured into a car that I didnt't want or couldn't afford. When I walked into the dealership, the woman working the front reception desk was very approachable, friendly and helpful. My salesman, Anthony Kent, basically created what I felt was a customized car-shopping experience. He was very patient and is knowledgeable when it comes to the ins and outs of Honda's (and other vehicle makes/models). Most importantly, he took the time to listen and wrote notes on all of the specific things I was looking for in a car. I test drove two cars that day, and returned a couple days later with my parents to begin the paperwork process on the second car that I test drove. My parents are tough negotiators but that was the first time I witnessed them NOT having to play hard-ball! At the end of the negotiation,my father shook Anthony's hand and said "If I ever need to buy another Honda, I'm coming to you." My father is also a salesmen and has been for over 30 years, he wouldn't have said that if he didn't truly mean it. I could tell that my parents where pleased with their experience. I was in my new car in less than a week from the day I took the initial test drive. All the while, I thought it was great that Anthony kept in touch and kept me updated on things I needed to know about the car and the paperwork process and was readily available to answer any question that I had. Whether on the phone or in person, he made sure I was happy and accomodated. Ultimately, I feel as though the cars sell themselves. I was looking for something very specific that I literally could have purchased at any dealership, but I know for a fact that my experience would not have been the same anywhere else and definitely would not be possible if it werent for the exceptional service of the staff. I’ve been going to Herb Chambers Honda of Westborough for many years now and am very happy with their overall service. My car is now over 7 yrs old and running well. They have great hours and a shuttle servi many years now and am very happy with their overall service. My car is now over 7 yrs old and running well. They have great hours and a shuttle service which is ideal, wireless access so I can work if I remain there. I have been to a few other service centers but keep returning to this Honda dealer. The prices are fair. I’ve asked for quotes and Honda is usually the same price and with a coupon from them, I actually save money. Oil changes, they never ask me to buy a new filter or upgrade my package. They have my car health on file, they review everything they did and make recommendations that make sense and never try to over sell. I recently had to get new tires and did see tires cheaper elsewhere, but because of time and convenience, bought them from Honda. A bit overpriced on the tires, but buying them there I didn’t have to pay for mounting and rotating them, and they even took my old tires to dispose of, and again, I had one of their coupons. So for the convenience, which is priceless to me, tires, I paid the same price I would have if I had gotten them elsewhere. And their customer service is wonderful and responsive. They call when they say they will, and are helpful when you have questions. More
I was in the market for a certified pre-owned, $17k, with good gas mileage, so Honda seemed like a natural choice. The price offer was higher than I was willing to pay(nearly $400 a month!), especially because I have excellent credit (nearly 800), and was putting a 1/3 of the cost of the car as a down payment. They did not disclose the APR to me, or my credit score. Upon shopping further, and having a wonderful experience at Patrick Subaru (who offered the same car/year/LESS miles for $2k cheaper), it turns out Herb Chambers was offering me 16% APR, compared to 5% down the street. If you're trying to save a buck, you won't save it here. I should've have listened the reviews saying Herb Chambers is money hungry. They were right. More
