Their professionalism, curtesy, & willingness to work with me on my terms, provided a car buying experience like no other I’ve had in my 40+ years of purchasing vehicles. If you are looking to purchase a vehicle, you will not regret making a call and asking for these gentlemen. MY STORY: Prior to this purchase, my experience with dealerships has been one of frustration & irritation. I dreaded & avoided dealerships at all costs. In my mind, there had to be a better way and I was determined to find one that broke the stereotypical vehicle buying process. After contacting numerous dealerships in the greater Washington D.C. area, (to be fair, I didn't contact of them them), I was confronted with that same mentality & attitude I had dreaded all along. I spent days asking the same questions that should have in no way required me to physically be present for an answer. When salesmen were not being coy & overly aggressive, they were terse & rude. My frustration drove me to expand my search beyond the D.C. area. I found a vehicle that met my search criteria. I called, and Jack answered. He was polite from the start. He answered my questions and when he needed to speak with his manager, Luis, he was apologetic and quick to return with the information. Despite it being late in the day, he offered to ask Luis to "run" numbers and worked trade-in information from pictures that I sent via text. Once he discovered that I live 270+ miles away, he offered to take & send a video of the vehicle to help with a determination on going forward. The fact that I live so far away, the likelihood of making a sale must have seemed low at best. That didn't deter Jack' or Luis' willingness & attention to customer service. This was refreshing considering my expectations. Over the next two days, both Jack and Luis communicated with me via text and phone. When there was a lag in time for any inquiry, Jack was sure to check in, explain what was going on and assured me that he would check the status. When it seemed that we were coming to an agreement, I called Luis asking for specific details concerning financing. As I left a voicemail, I realized that it was after hours, and he would have left work for the day. I assumed he would return my call the next day. Not so! Despite it being after hours, he returned my call within minutes with the information requested. While driving to North Carolina, I wondered if their demeanor would change once it was obvious that I was going to make the purchase. It was a pretty good bet that after driving 4+ hours, the sale was "in the bag". With no change, their curtesy, politeness, and respect continued. Upon arrival, my expectation was that we would wait for someone to locate them. Not so! We walked up the door, and both Jack and Luis were there to greet us as if we were their only priority. I still think they were a bit amused as to why someone would travel that distance to purchase a vehicle. Simply, when you pick up the phone, you are polite, you answer the customer’s questions directly, and allow the customer to lead the discussion on his or her terms, the customer will respond and, in the end, both parties will feel good about the transaction. Looking back, I realize now that I was not only shopping for a vehicle, but also an experience. Did I save time driving 500+ miles round trip? No. However, instead of sitting in a dealership for hours growing more and more frustrated with presumptuous and pushy salesmen who continuously disappeared to, “speak with their manager”, I was able to use that time attending my son's soccer game, swimming practice, help a friend move, and most importantly, I spent an entire day enjoying time with my family while simultaneously doing the one thing I started out dreading more than just about anything… buying a vehicle from a dealer. Especially want to recognize Vincent Cumberbatch who went above and beyond to find the Chevrolet Trailblazer in the color Red I liked that was in our price range! Vincent was very friendly, enthusiastic, patient and supportive during the entire process and most importantly very good listener! He showed us few Chevrolet Trailblazers in various colors but didn’t try to sell what we didn’t want. I think he has a magic wand and found the perfect vehicle over the weekend :) Thank you Vincent, I love my new car! Big shut out to Luis as well, he was also very nice, understanding and had very good deals and offers for us. It was a pleasure being a customer and we will see you again soon! More
