Two stars only because the service department is pretty good. Otherwise, they would receive the one-star they truly deserve. For everyone else considering purchasing a car there, please learn from my mistakes. Buyers beware. We bought a pre-owned Ford car last year and Hastings Ford took great pains to ensure the car they sold us was not of the quality it should be after getting checked out by the badged dealer. First, they only had ONE key and fob for the vehicle. This forced almost $500 in extra charges to have a new key, new fob, and program the fob to the car. They should be providing a new key, new fob, and program it to the vehicle so each vehicle has two keys. Second, they put new tires on the vehicle. This was great! Until i discovered too late that the tires they put on were nowhere near rated for the vehicle. It is incomprehensible that a licensed Ford dealer would put substandard tires on a Ford vehicle and then have the vehicle pass their inspectection, then sell the vehicle. They're a dealer, this was intentional, and it was an issue of safety. Check the tires against the door sticker!!! Third, we're finding out there is a transmission problem. Conveniently, Hastings Ford declined to "Gold Certify" this vehicle, which would have put the transmission problem squarely under warranty. They now want almost $5000 to fix a problem (high Ford prices, remember?) that should have been fixed before the car ever got put on the lot for sale. If it's a newer Ford model vehicle and isn't certified, head somewhere else. Ultimately, buyer beware, Hastings Ford will pull every scummy trick in the book that used car dealers are renowned for and ultimately will sell you an unsafe vehicle, counting on your ignorance to keep spending money at their service department.
