Hi John, I spoke with our Service Manager about this situation. He explained to me that the inside of the reflector was broken in your headlight. Instead of simply replacing the bulb and having an expensive bulb blow a short time later, we wanted to give you your options. It is unfortunate to hear of how you view your experience but I assure you that we do not do business as you are suggesting. Nice try but you have a long list of complaints with the Attorney General’s Office so not buying this one bit. I had always heard that Harr had this shady reputation and didn’t want to believe it until happened to me. My “expensive bulb” hasn’t burnt out and it was not presented to me as an “option”; it was that it was necessary to have a new bulb work. That turned out to be a fabrication as the other dealer said there was absolutely nothing wrong with the assembly. People who read this – stay away from these people as they will try to charge you for expensive things you likely won’t need.

This is a customer who purchased a car, paid in full for the car, put insurance on the car, had us register the car and had us install extra items on the car. Then claims to have left voicemails (which no one every received). In the meantime, never came back to the dealership to inform us that he didn't want the vehicle. We have a 48 hour money-back guarantee but this purchase was well beyond that. Obviously, if the customer put insurance on the vehicle, he wanted it. This customer went to another dealership and they gave him WRONG information and is now holding us responsible for their mistake. We initially offered several times for the customer to come in and we?d try and work it out but to date he has made no attempt to come in and discuss the matter. His claim of paying a lot less is completely false as well and refuses to come and discuss. Harr has been in business for 65 years and we are the only Presidents Award (Toyota's highest award for customer satisfaction) dealer in central MA in 2012.

my response to the response from harr toyota, 1, I did in fact call harr toyota within the 48 hours to cancel the order and have provided harr toyota with a copy of my phone records showing date and time of calls. 2, i was told initially by harr that the car would be ready on friday, but on friday i was told that the car would not be ready until monday, but harr registered the car on friday anyway(they register the car on site so that should not have been done until the car was ready. 3,the remote starter was installed on monday, 2 days after i had called and cancelled the order. 4,i followed up with general manager mike gross on monday with a e-mail stating that i had cancelled the order voer the weekend. 5,Mike gross waited 16 days before he contacted me(he processed the loan and waited to get paid before he contacted me back) at that point he said he has been paid and it is too late to cancel the order. 6,i did not recieve a copy of the detailed breakdown of charges until my attorney asked for it. 7, when i saw the detailed breakdown i noticed that i wass being charged for the lo jack(which i was told was included in the original price) as well as the remote starter(which i negotiated to be included to free of charge) 8,Mr Gross states that they have offered to work things out which is untrue, mr gross wants me to give hime 5000 dollars to resolve the issue, THAT IS NOT GOING TO HAPPEN 9, i did find the same car at bernardi toyota in framingham for 60 dollars a month less as well as a 72 month term verses a 75 month term at harr. 10,I am more than willing to sit down with Mr. Gross and a mediator to resolve this issue if Mr. gross is willling to agree to the terms of the mediator.
