I li Casual indifference by employees and below average customer service. Example, I accidentally left my garage door opener in my loaner rental car. I live an hour and a half away, so called back to ask someone to please mail it to me so I didn’t have to drive all the way back. She said “we don’t ship things so you’ll have to come get it.” I asked to speak to the service manager and she said “he’s not here.” Dropping it in a manilla envelope and sticking a stamp on it isn’t that hard. Was then told by someone else there they’d take care of it. Still haven’t received it. Another point was the wiring from my front and rear dash cams were left dangling down in the rear, and exposed and visible in the front. In other words, they removed it while working on the car, but didn’t put it back the way it was. I had to drive back to the installer after I got home and have it fixed. More
The service department scheduled me for the next day, gave an accurate assessment of the probable cause of my issue and the estimated cost. I received the vehicle back with a few hours. I especially appreciated that they did not try to add additional services/repairs after the fact. Everyone I interacted with was professional and kind. I would definitely recommend this dealership. We bought a 1-year old, Gold-certified CPO Sienna from them. Lots of sales hype about the "bumper to bumper warranty", the "172 point Less than 3 weeks after purchase - almost lost a wheel when 3 out of 5 lug nuts (and their studs!) sheared off on the Interstate. Got towed to a different dealer for repairs - thankfully it could have been a lot worse, and we figured - the warranty will cover this right? And the warranty covers travel costs too (we were several hundred miles from home and had to get a hotel) - so at least the hotel we had to get would be covered too. Wrong. The repair dealer said numerous lugnuts were improperly torqued, and that it was a labor issue (not a parts issue) so the warranty wouldn't apply. Instead, we'd have to take it up with whomever did the most recent wheel service (the dealer we purchased it from, 3 weeks prior). They said they would expect any reputable dealer to take accountability for this negligence and cover these costs and make the customer whole. Wrong again. We had to make countless calls to Hanlees Davis Toyota - getting bounced around from the Sales Manager, to the Service Manager, to an incredibly unprofessional Salesman (who refused to give his name - and hung up on me when I asked for it), and ultimately the General Manager - and being put on hold for hours, promised prompt return calls that never happened. In the end they were unbelievably rude, refused to do anything to address this, and tried to claim "it must have been lugnut vandals" (to which the staff at the repair dealer all laughed out loud at the ridiculous assertion). W So, we're out nearly $800 for the repairs, had our trip ruined, and the Gold Certified Warranty and certification from Hanlees Toyota is pretty worthless. We spoke with an attorney who advised us to take legal action - we called Hanlees one last time to offer them the chance to make it right before it escalates to that, but they simply said "do what you have to do". Not a dealership to trust to take care of customers - and a Service Center that can't be bothered to properly torque lugnuts - shouldn't be trusted to repair a car, or certify cars for a warranty. Stay away from Hanlees Davis More
