Deceptive Practices I had purchased a 2016 Hyundai Sonata from this dealership earlier this year. On December 5th of this year my car was totaled by an individual that m I had purchased a 2016 Hyundai Sonata from this dealership earlier this year. On December 5th of this year my car was totaled by an individual that made an illegal turn and ran into me. I was going to deal with Hampton Hyundai again and contacted the sales person who had handled our previous purchase. I had already determined that I would go through Gulf Winds but after contacting the sales person at Hyundai, telling him the car I wanted to purchase and that I intended to go through Gulf Winds, he said that Hyundai finance was offering between .99% and 3.00%. I knew that I had excellent credit and would qualify for the lowest rate so I told the salesperson that he could run an application only through Hyundai and if they would not give us the .99% we would go through Gulf Winds. He texted me later and said yes my credit qualified me for the best rate but when I inquired what that rate would be he simply texted me another copy of the buyers worksheet. I texted him back again asking the interest rate and he immediately called me. He began to tell me that those lower rates were not available on the vehicle I was purchasing and still would not tell me a rate. I work in the financial field and am fully aware that they do know what vehicles offer special rates and I confronted him with that. He eventually apologized for his ignorance of the correct rates. I immediately went to another dealer at that point because I felt this was extremely deceptive. Later that day I received a call from a manager saying they wanted to keep my business. I explained the whole scenario to him and during the conversation he stated that they had found some lower rat. es for me through several other financial institutions. I had only given them permission to pull through Hyundai finance period. I have perfect credit for a reason. He stated that it only bumped you score down 1 point per inquiry. 1 for several applications. I am furious. I did not give them permission to do this yet their dishonesty or pure lack of communication will cause my score to go down several points. I will be filing a formal complaint against them when I determine who to file that with, More

Great Salesman and dealership I was searching for a new mid-size SUV in August 2016. There are several manufactures who build and sell excellent vehicles in this category. I visi I was searching for a new mid-size SUV in August 2016. There are several manufactures who build and sell excellent vehicles in this category. I visited and took lengthy test drives in cars made by Kia, Toyota, Mazda, Ford, Honda, Nissan, and Hyundai. While they each had their own character and pros and cons, I would have been happy with almost all of them. When I got serious, I then took my wife with me to visit the dealerships and drive the final three I had selected. My wife like the Hyundai Santa Fe Sport best and was very impressed with the available technology and safety options. I also liked the Hyundai so we sat down with our salesman, Tommy Pope to negotiate the purchase of one new 2017 Santa Fe Sport with every option offered. Tommy was excellent to work with and we agreed on a price. We were both so impressed and happy with the deal and with the effort Tommy made to make the deal that we decided to order two new Santa Fe Sports with every option, the only difference being color. Since we wanted all wheel drive models (AWD), fully loaded, they had to be ordered as we did not want cars that were located outside the local area and that had to be driven over 1000 miles to Fort Walton Beach. While we waited for the delivery of the two new vehicles, Tommy Pope and the Hampton Hyundai team kept us fully informed. Both cars were delivered in the first week of November, 2016. The deliver to include paperwork and new car orientation was fast and efficient, covering every detail of car and the high technology systems to include their function and operation. We immediately took a road trip in one of the cars of over 1000 miles. We are extremely impressed with the Hyundai Santa Fe Sport and the trip confirmed that we made the correct choice for our two new cars. If you are in the market for a new car, I recommend that you visit Tommy Pope at Hampton Hyundai in Fort Walton Beach Florida. More
