Recently bought my Volkswagen EOS komfort and everyone was extremely nice(great customer service). Buyer beware! I recently bought a used 2006 pickup truck from Hampstead. There were several problems with the truck, which they said they would fix. I pointed out t I recently bought a used 2006 pickup truck from Hampstead. There were several problems with the truck, which they said they would fix. I pointed out that one of the tires was very low in air. They promised to fix it. After driving the truck home, three days later I noticed the same tire was again low in air. When I looked closely, I found two nails in the tire, with one nail too close to the sidewall to be patched safely. I called Hampstead service department and informed them of the problem. First they said there was no record of any issue with the tire. I then called the sales guy, who remembered I pointed out the problem but said there was little he could do, it was up to senior management. After much back and forth, their answer was the same: you can bring it in here and we'll replace the tire, but will have to charge you for it. So my message is, don't let this happen to you! If you buy a vehicle from these guys, don't trust them to do things right. Check it over carefully before you sign. And double check before you drive away to make sure any issues were fixed. If you see a problem and they say it was fixed, make them put it in writing. I didn't do that, and had to pay $227. for a new tire to replace the bad one that was on this truck when they sold it. In my 55 years of driving a car (wow, I can't believe I just wrote that!), I have never encountered a dealership that was more friendly, fair, professional, helpful, and just plain pleasant to deal with. The fact that they were willing to deliver the car to my daughter in Washington DC (during evening rush hour, no less) just blew me away. My experience with Hampstead Preowned was extraordinary throughout, from the friendly welcome I received the minute I walked in the door (with my dog, no less), through the regular updates I received as they worked to bring the car up to their high standards, to the delighted text I received from my daughter when she learned that the car was hers. In a time of much suffering due to the Corona virus the governor of the great commonwealth of PA decided that car dealerships could not sell cars; they can only service cars. I was in need of reliable transportation and could not purchase a car!!! I was told that we could buy a vehicle from Maryland. So I looked on Cars.com and found numerous vehicles I was interested in at a dealership in Maryland very close to the PA line. I called the Hampstead Auto dealership and was treated very fairly. They even agreed to let me pick a few of the cars I was most interested in purchasing and said they would drive the vehicle into PA so we could test drive the vehicles. Well, it turns out that the one I was most interested in went home with me that day! The Hampstead Auto dealership went above and beyond all expectations. I would HIGHLY recommend them to anyone interested in purchasing a used vehicle. They offer a limited warranty on the powertrain and transmission which is a good deal and gives you a little peace of mind for a few months. Thank you so much to the Hampstead family in Maryland. I know when it is time for my next vehicle purchase I will seek them out to get my next car! More
