When you purchase a vehicle, there are many people involved and most you don't spend much time with. Kiran was top notch, caring, attentive, and responsive. As he was the last person we spoke to the evening i purchased my vehicle. He also called a couple days later to ask how i was enjoying my vehicle. And didnt hesitate when i mentioned an issue. They sold me a defective vehicle because they were understaff and clearly the mechanics are either overworked or incompetent so they didn't take the time to properly inspect the vehicle that I was sold or address my complains. I complained that my vehicle had a strong exhaust smell and I had to put oil in the car very often. I was eventually told to come in for oil changes more often. It was hard to get them on the phone and it was always hard to get them to look at my vehicle. Its clear they were just doing the bare minimum because the service department was always short staff and the young lady in charge messed up a lot. They have gone through several service managers since I have purchase my car which says a lot. My catalytic converter failed and I was told to go somewhere else to get it fixed which I did. Sometime has passed and again I have to change my catalytic converter, I am now finding out from Hyundai that the issue has been the engine and it is obvious that this has been an issue for a long time and that is what is damaging the catalytic converter. I am not sure how Hampstead preowned missed that when they supposedly do a thorough check on the vehicle before selling it and I have complained to all three service managers regarding this issue. I HAVE HAD MANY OTHER ISSUES WITH THIS PLACE BUT THIS ONE IS REALLY FRUSTRATED ESPECIALLY WHEN I AM BEING TOLD THAT I HAVE HAD THE VEHICLE FOR 2 YEARS NOW AND IT IS A 2017 SO ESSENTIALLY THEY CAN'T DO ANYTHING. VERY DISAPPOINT WITH THIS PLACE AND BUYING FROM THEM WAS A GREAT MISTAKE!!! More
Great experience. Transparent, honest, and straight to the point. No pressure sales. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a pre-owned. Transparent, honest, and straight to the point. No pressure sales. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a pre-owned. More

This review is quite long, but I strongly encourage people to read it in its entirety. We went to Hampstead Pre-Owned last year (end of February/early March) and traded in our SUV in order to purchase people to read it in its entirety. We went to Hampstead Pre-Owned last year (end of February/early March) and traded in our SUV in order to purchase a 2016 Chevy Cruze. First, we got what we expected for our trade. Next to nothing. We put $3,000.00 down; none of which went towards the purchase price. After that was paid, we were then told that their bank was wanting yet even more of a "down payment." Another $1,400.00 (without looking at the exact paperwork, that's as close to what we remember paying, although it could've been a bit more). A couple of months later, as the weather became warm, we noticed that the air conditioner was not working. We called the service department, explained what was going on with the car, and was told that this particular vehicle has a temperature gauge that controls the AC system, and once the outside temperature reaches a certain degree, it allows the system to kick on. I had never and still have never heard of that. We took it in to have them look at it. They replaced the thermostat and covered the cost, all but around $100 (for labor). Sometime in November, we went to leave for work and the car wouldn't start. We had it jumped, then took it to a local mechanic for a diagnostic test. There was nothing they could find wrong. However, ever since then, even up until this morning, the car doesn't start sometimes. We had to purchase a small battery charging box with jumper cable attachments. That was a few hundred dollars. The air conditioner does not work. Still. I have contacted the dealership and have gotten absolutely no response. I have three children who have been extremely hot this summer. We have been miserable. I have had this car for just over a year and it is the worst one I or my husband have ever had. We have never had such a horrible experience with a dealership before. I truthfully believe something with the air conditioner, especially, and the battery (second) should be done on their behalf. This is a horrible example of customer service and downright basic human decency. More
out of all the cars on the lot maybe a dozen are actually ready to be sold. very dirty inside and outside. when we arrived they presented us with a "finished and ready to go" mazda 3. test drove it, pulled t ready to be sold. very dirty inside and outside. when we arrived they presented us with a "finished and ready to go" mazda 3. test drove it, pulled to into a parking lot and checked everything out. back seat was loose, interior was filthy, steering wheel pointed to the 2 o'clock position while driving straight. walked around n seen a dozen honda civics. they said 3 are ready for purchase. 1 of those 3 had a chewed up steering wheel, all were filthy. everyone of them had their window weather strips cut. it's their standard practice to cut the cracked weathered rubber off. fees are outrageous. they have this HPO certification thay includes tires, wipers, brakes, detail, headlight polishing + listed they did a nunber of repairs I found were not completed. they brought to my attention a clicking sound in the axel that they replaced it. they did not, they brought to my attention the torn door seal rubber...they fixed it. they did NOT. when asked of they'd polish the cloudy headlights. they did but got the residue all over the car amd did not clean it off.. my inquiry was met with silence. to charge 1300 for your certification is rediculous and I'd consider it theft since iltje work wasn't completed. Will lt be back will not recommend. More
Beware bait and switch pricing. $2000.00 added to price unless you finance with them. Lots of double talk. $799.00 "required by the state" doc fee. We purchased a car from Hampstead a few months ago. We had a number of issues, both major and minor. The major issue is that you cannot walk off the lot with the advertised price (even accounting for the non-prominently displayed/enumerated fees) if you do not finance. They say there is a financing incentive but do not tell you the amount until you are in the room for final paperwork (which was, in our case, 4+ hours into our visit). In our case it was $2000, and in some cases per the F&I manager apparently can be more. This is on top of the fact that the fees are already substantially higher than any other dealer we considered courtesy of the HPO fee, which we did not see until we were on site (be sure to scroll all the way down past ads for other cars and other items on any listed car). We also had a number of other issues - one advertised car in which we expressed interest could not be located, for example. We were told the car we purchased would be cleaned and filled with gas - the cleaning was incredibly poor and the tank was nearly empty. We noted the side mirror had a vibration in it at speed when we took the car home. We ultimately purchased the car, but relayed all of this to a customer experience representative after the fact and she said they would try to make this right, but soon stopped responding to our communications, after we sought clarification on some of the paperwork (the implied warranty waiver). I was also told we would receive a call from the finance director and never did. Given the experience to date and the current silence, we are now pursuing alternate paths to resolution. Would recommend others be careful in considering using this dealer. More
