I drove from Boston to Hammonasset the other day, after looking on cars.com for quite some time -- trying to find just the right VW to save me from my 2000 Golf! When I found the car I wanted at Hammonasset, I did a little reading to make sure they were going to be trustworthy (I had only been looking at certified cars and/or cars that I could bring to my mechanic)and that the car would be as described. Well, I made the drive twice -- yesterday's drive was to pick up the car! On Saturday, James had helped me out with the car, was open to my concerns and questions about buying a car from a dealer I didn't know, and was great very understanding with my toddler who had accompanied me. Overall, the dealership didn't seem worried that I let my daughter walk around the showroom (she's careful, but they didn't know that); there was no hard-sell; and everyone was low-key and friendly. James was helpful, informative about the car, and great to work with. I would certainly recommend Hammonasset in general and James Filley in particular! More
