I purchased a car from Hamilton Honda, and while it was a used vehicle, it was still a over $40k before taxes and doc fees. However, regardless of the price you pay for a vehicle or how many cars you purcha used vehicle, it was still a over $40k before taxes and doc fees. However, regardless of the price you pay for a vehicle or how many cars you purchased from a specific dealer, they should still provide the same service to all customers. Here is a list of issues I had: 1) Salesman was pretty pushy, trying to rush the deal. A reverse strategy where dealers try to cause buyer fatigue. Still, I didn't enjoy the experience honestly. Once we reached a deal, I was scheduled to pick up the car in 2 days. 2) The dealer did not seek out the best financing options. They ran my credit with banks I would not use, nor did they even ask me if I had a preferred lender. I wasn't even present when they did this, it was done after making the deal and before I picked the vehicle. When I arrived to pick up the vehicle, they already pre-selected my lender 'on my behalf'. I had them change to my preferred lender, which of course triggered another credit search. My preferred lender came in at a lower interest rate for the same term loan (a difference of about 1.5% or 19% less overall interest charges). 3) Due to #1, where they tried to let me take a quick test drive and get me right out of the car to the negotiation table, I found 1 issue with the vehicle on my drive home. When I called the dealer on it first thing in the morning I was given a complete run-around about it. I fixed the issue myself before they would even schedule me to look at the vehicle. Point being, post sales support is already in the dump. 4) I was transferring my plates so all they needed to do was get my registration updated. After 2 weeks I called asking for an update and was told 'DMV is slow and it's not here yet'. I find this hard to believe because my wife and son both purchased cars the same week I did and their DMV documents were completed (different dealers). I started to call every other day for an update and was told the same story. 3 days prior to my temporary plate expiring I got the same story. 1 day prior to my temp plate expiring, when I called I was told 'your documents are here, come pick them up' So, given my schedule, and the dealer not in my neck of the woods, I asked them if they would just over-night them to me so I'd have them on the day the temp plate expires. I was told there is a $25.00 fee for this. I have never had a dealer not offer to overnight me my docs or plates at their expense. In the end, when I got my documents, I see DMV charged the dealer a late fee, which of course is passed on to me. Apparently they were slow to even get the documents to DMV to begin with. 5) During all these issues, getting someone from management on the phone is near next to impossible. I left many voice mails and only once received a call back. This dealer does not care for their customer's time, purchase experience and has very poor customer service in every department I dealt with. Buyer beware from this dealership. Go somewhere else!!
