Horrible Customer Service As a loyal customer of this dealership for 10+ years it was quite shocking that when I brought my car in for service yesterday 12/3/15, that I was tre As a loyal customer of this dealership for 10+ years it was quite shocking that when I brought my car in for service yesterday 12/3/15, that I was treated so rudely and disrespectfully by my service associate. He spoke condescendingly, rudely, abruptly and combatively to me the whole time, at one point flinging paperwork at me. I have never seen a grown man act so much like a toddler having a fit in their "terrible 2" phase. It is completely shocking that they condone that behavior from their employees. I asked to have something checked further after I was told they couldn't replicate the issue I brought the car in and was abruptly told no that they would not be doing anything further and I could pick the car up. Apparently good customer service is not important to the Habberstad family nor is going the extra mile to ensure that their clients are satisfied. I will not be continuing to be a loyal client in the future since being downright disrespectful is apparently their new business model. UPDATE: As of 12/19: the issues have still not been fixed with my car. I keep being told to come up so that we can talk about it further however after having the car looked at we have learned that the power steering fluid is low and we have advised them about this and yet still nothing. At any point they could of come and brought the car to the dealership like other dealerships would of done in this case but no, Habberstad again has failed to go above and beyond the call of duty for loyal customers. They even could of had the car towed to the dealership to have a new service appoint completely and use that time to actually look into the car and the issues instead of trying to sell me things I don't need and that are fine with the car. This dealership is not what it used to be and my family and I won't be returning to purchase new cars from them when these cars are returned in 2016. More

Ended up in a lawsuit I brought my '07 BMW 328xi coupe for servicing at BMW Habberstad’s Huntington NY location in August of 2013 because of sporadic rough idling and engin I brought my '07 BMW 328xi coupe for servicing at BMW Habberstad’s Huntington NY location in August of 2013 because of sporadic rough idling and engine shaking. Shortly after paying $1418.49 for the services on August 5th, I drove the car off the lot and returned it minutes after due to the same issue. August 8th, I picked my car up after paying an additional $671.22 and drove the car home. Days later the sporadic rough idling and engine shaking continued. I was hesitant to return for servicing because I could not afford additional payments. After months of dealing with the issue, I finally called to see if they would be willing to take another look at the car free of charge. They said I would have to pay an additional $165.00 plus tax! While also calling to get the full value of the monies paid to the company for the services, their representative whom I spoke with, Bill Dickhut, was reluctant to give my the information I needed to mtch the value I had listed. I brought my car to the gas station on the corner and had them diagnose the car for $25.00; they pulled a code from my service engine light. P0301 being the code dealing with the problem I have been experiencing which relates directly to the sporadic rough idling and engine shaking. It was easy enough for my to look up YouTube videos on how to fix the car, yet I have been dealing with this issue for months and paid over $2,000 to have the issue fixed, which was NEVER actually fixed! After dealing with Peter Mitchell, a service representative for months, I began asking to work with a manager in getting the car fixed! After picking up my car, I saw my brake light was on. Peter Mitchell mentioned that “I needed new brakes” and that it would cost me “about $800.00” to get them fixed. I brought my car to Deer Park Quality Auto for a second opinion to see that my brake sensor was cut and was explained that there was no way that this happened by driving the car, instead it was yanked or cut to trigger the brake sensor. Peter Mitchell was reluctant on multiple occasions to allow me to speak with Dave Craft, their service manager, often picking up his line and saying he was unavailable. On two occasions I called under a to speak with Dave immediately after being denied access by Mr. Mitchell who said he was out of the office, and reached him after calling back under a different alias. Finally being able to reach Mr. Craft, I explained the issue at hand. He seemed distraught and eager to help me fix my car. After about one week of them having my car, they had a BMW corporate representative come down to take a look at the car, finding the problem. After denying to pay an ADDITIONAL $1300.00, the car was returned to me missing my BMW emblem on the front. They tried to tell me that the emblem was missing upon receiving the car. My car was returned to me about 5 times with them stating that the issue at hand had been fixed. In August of 2013 I paid for them to replace or change things in my car, that didn’t affect or change my initial and only reason for bringing in the car. BMW of Habberstad has refused since then to actually fix the issue, seeing that they had to bring down a BMW corporate representative, it seems as though they were doing guest work all along. More
Careless Maintenance of your vehicle. BMW drivers stay away. I brought in my 335i coupe on May 30,2014 to have an alignment done. When I spoke to the service representative over the phone, they offered to match the service coupon another dealership was promoting at $150. Upon arrival, Habberstad BMW tried to increase the price to $199. With some persistence, they finally agreed to offer the alignment for the original quoted price. Tim was pleasant enough during the documentation process and I reiterated several times that I did not wish to have my vehicle washed. During the waiting period, I sat outside and watched as one of the mechanics peel off in my vehicle apparently to test the alignment. Although unorthodox, I gave it little thought as I was confident the dealership would take good care of my vehicle. When my vehicle was finally done, I notice right away they totally disregarded my simple request of not washing the vehicle. But that simple disregard paled in comparison to what I discovered next. Upon closer inspection, I noticed that my front bumper lip was completely scraped. My vehicle has sports suspension so I take precautions when entering steep slopes to prevent any scrapes from happening. Apparently Habberstad BMW service department deems this unnecessary. I strongly recommend BMW drivers to take their vehicles elsewhere for service. From the original bait and switch on prices to the total lack of care and disregard for my vehicle, Habberstad BMW has shown me that they could careless about the conditions of your vehicle. More

Well, Vito Latorre made that happen for me -- and more. Vito worked hard to make sure I had the exact car I really wanted, at a price that I feel is a solid one. And even after the deal was done, he took extra steps to make sure all went smoothly when I picked up my new car and returned my leased one. I was thrilled with the vehicle, and even more so with James. He was extremely knowledgeable regarding the product, and he facilitated a seamless transaction. Over the years, my relationship with James has grown into a strong friendship. I have referred many friends and family members to James, and he has taken care of each one as if they were his own. Now that James sells BMW’s, I drive a BMW. That’s the difference between James and other salesman. When James puts his stamp of approval on something, you know it is a quality product. I will plan my next purchase with James, regardless of what dealership or manufacturer he represents. I suggest that all who read this do the same. Also, James is not the type of salesman who disappears after he sells you your vehicle. James has been available every time I needed my car serviced. I recently needed my brakes done for my 5 series. James made sure that a loaner car was available, and had it ready and waiting for me. He is never more than a phone call away, which is invaluable when choosing a salesman. I wish James all the best at Habberstad BMW. I hope they realize how lucky they are to have him. More
