I tell you about. our Toyota I call it a smart car no key to turn it on. I took my sister to see her doctor and when we were leaving I was looking for the car key forgetting that the key is press on the breaks and use my finger to stat the car. we just laugh at my situation. our Toyota is wonderfull. we need time to learn all the little tricks it has. Total Lack of communication and broken promises We’ve purchased many new and used cars over the years, but our experience buying a car at H & S Auto in Stratford was the worst, most stressful experi We’ve purchased many new and used cars over the years, but our experience buying a car at H & S Auto in Stratford was the worst, most stressful experience we’ve ever had. The broken promises and total lack of communication was mind boggling. Our salesman Paul P. and the GM Anthony P. promised and PUT IN WRITING that we would have a 30 day warranty on all service/repair work, but the day we picked up the car they TOTALLY CHANGED THEIR STORY, LIED ABOUT IT, AND SAID “ITS SOLD AS IS”. They also stated several times that they fix and take care of ALL safety issues, but they would not fix or replace the retraction on the seatbelts, that we found at our last visit, unless we agreed to pay for it! We offered a very fair compromise, but they refused to accept it, and when we asked Anthony to call to discuss we got no response at all. At the time of our appointment with Paul to pick up the car, we decided to call to confirm as we were leaving, only to find out the car wasn’t even on the lot- AND PAUL DIDN’T EVEN BOTHER TO CALL US TO LET US KNOW! This happened not once, but TWICE- we couldn’t believe that he actually failed to notify us a second time!! If we didn’t call to confirm both times, we would’ve shown up at H& S and the car would not have even been there, it was out for repair! It is basic common courtesy to let customers know if their car isn’t ready to be picked up as promised! What kind of credible dealership treats their customers like that? Throughout the month long wait to purchase the car we left many phone messages that didn’t get returned. We received conflicting information and totally different explanations from Paul and the service manager Dave. By the end of the process we were so confused we didn’t know what to believe or what was actually done. I told Paul in person the day we finally picked up the car how we felt about our experience. Even in person, he did not respond. He seemed to just ignore what we said. He never even apologized for not contacting us both times when our car wasn’t ready, or for all the miscommunication and long wait. We are so glad and relieved not have to deal with H & S Auto anymore. We just hope we don’t have any problems with all the repair work they did, because they won’t even stand behind it. Please think twice before you purchase a car there. More
