My wife and I first went to Gwinnett Place Honda to look for a new 2009 CR-V. We were first approached by James when we arrived at the dealership. we told him what we were interested in and proceeded to hav for a new 2009 CR-V. We were first approached by James when we arrived at the dealership. we told him what we were interested in and proceeded to have a pretty good experience. after test driving the 2009 Honda CR-V LX and sitting down with him and his manager, Chad, to discuss what we could work out in order for us to purchase the CR-V we came up with a tentative offer. an offer at first i thought was pretty good and would be willing to have accepted it. however, as a first time buyer i wanted someone with more experience to be with me so I told them to leave the offer on the table and i'd be back with my father-in-law. after trying to PUSH ME and PUSH ME and PUSH ME to "buy now and leave the lot with a new car" they had agreed to letting us return with my father-in-law and the tentative deal would still be on the table. When we returned with my father-in-law, James' demeanor totally changed. it was like night and day. he was rude, impatient and showed all types of frustration in front of us when it seemed like the sale wasn't going to happen. REALLY UNPROFESSIONAL!! Wanting to see the difference between the CR-V LX that my wife and i wanted and the CR-V EX, we had asked James if he could pull up an EX for us to look at. the first question out of his mouth was, "can you afford a higher monthly payment?" in a tone that wasn't pleasant. In all honesty, if i had gotten to look at the EX and liked it more than the LX i might have been more willing to pay a higher monthly payment, but since we never got the opportunity to compare... who is to say what could've happened!? there was a chance I'd have left there with a new 2009 CR-V EX. On top of all that, when we all (James, Chad, my wife, father-in-law and myself) finally sat down to talk about the CR-V LX we had planned on getting the deal we had agreed upon earlier in the day was all of a sudden not applicable. Both Chad and James were rude during this entire process and made us feel uncomfortable. In the end we left that dealership and all agreed this was a TOTAL waste of our time. Not wanting to give up on purchasing a new car, we decided to go back to Gwinnett Place Honda but this time work with a different sales person with the thought that maybe we'd have a better experience. I dealt with Daniel but wanted to deal only through email and phone conversations. He seemed like a better person to work with than James so I wanted to see what he could do. i told him what i wanted and what i was working with. he came with an offer that i couldn't really see myself agreeing to. as a result, he said my best bet would be to look into a certified pre-owned vehicle. I spoke with my wife and gave it some thought and agreed with his assessment. i looked at the certified preowned inventory at Gwinnett Place and told Daniel if we could work something out. Instead of working with me to get a certified pre-owned vehicle, he proceeded to push me back into buying the new 2009 CR-V. Weren't you the one who just told me to check into buying a pre-owned car. Well... days have past and i haven't heard back from Daniel about the helping me with a pre-owned vehicle. In the end, my wife and i got our certified pre-owned Honda 2008 CR-V EX L with leather from another Honda dealership with only 20,000 miles for less than what Gwinnett Place Honda was asking us to pay for the 2009 CR-V LX. I do not recommend this dealership to anyone!! they have poor customer service and they are extremely pushy. i'm not an expert but their prices don't seem to be fair at all. Don't waste your time with this dealership!! More
My experience was pretty good although I believe they could come down on the price a bit . Also I did not like the fact that after the sale they said it was OK to drive out without insurance for a li could come down on the price a bit . Also I did not like the fact that after the sale they said it was OK to drive out without insurance for a little while . A more alert salesperson should insist that the car be insured as any damage would be liable to the owner . On my second visit , because the first purchase was totaled after only 2 months , Norm took my advice and stood by while I added the accord to my insurance . Unfortunately I had to give Norm a 4 out of 5 rating as either he was playing deaf or just not focused on the specific car I had wanted from the lot , mileage color etc. I had to send him back 3 times . Heard he lost a couple of grand on his bonus for this , had I known I would not even bothered. Sorry This experience taught me that the power of an educated consumer . Had I not armed with info on the spot on my laptop my sales experience could have been different . More
i purchased a 2008 civic 4 dr. in october of 2008 and had no complaints except they were very pushy. then i came back in to trade my 2008 civic for anything that had 2 doors and had less miles and had never no complaints except they were very pushy. then i came back in to trade my 2008 civic for anything that had 2 doors and had less miles and had never been wrecked. i told them my car had front end damage but since it was not on carfax they said they would not disclose that information to anyone who bought it in the future. i then was TRICKED into trading my 2008 civic for a 2007 with less miles and was TOLD there was no damage because of what was on the carfax. well i left and brought my car home for eveyone to see and then realized it had been repainted and had body damage on the side. so i bring the car back in the next day and point this out where RAMON came out and said it had not been damaged or repainted and interupted us and yelled, he was very indirect about his answers he kept contradicting himself and was EXTREMELY unknowledgeable about the vehicle. he said if the car had been totaled and was not on carfax they would not tell customers. he then says he will tint my windows for free and "atempt" to line the door up because it was slightly off (from the body damage). i wanted to just have my 2008 back but the refused and said it was not there fault the car was wrecked and that they had not told me. ALSO my grandfathers name was also on the title for the 2008 and he had not even submitted his drivers license. they allowed me to take the paper work to him to have him sign it but he did not turn in his drivers license. even without all documentation they refused to give me my car back. then when i said well you have to give me the 2008 because you do not have my grandfathers drivers license. he said he was going to just pull his copy of his license from the previous vehicle that was bought. then i came back with the police and they still said they could make a copy of a copy and use that to sign MY title over. DO NOT GO TO GWINNETT PLACE HONDA. they are liars and will cheat you out of your money. after all this i went to conyers honda and explained the entire story to them and they were in complete shock and ended up giving me a GREAT deal. i also had decent experience with carey paul honda. BUT DO NOT GO TO GWINNETT PLACE HONDA. according to all the other reviews, i am not the only one who had TERRIBLE experience at gwinnett place honda. More
I went to look at a Civic that was on the internet. When I arrived, before my car was in park, there were 2 people at my door! After 10 minutes, Jake was able to figure out that the car was sold and offered to show me a 2003 Civic that had extensive damage to the passenger side. He said "we will touch that up if we have to" and continued, "it could be worse" and "we sell cars like this". I was absolutely amazed at his attitude. After 10 minutes of waiting for him in the lot because the price of another car was mis-marked, I said thanks but no thanks, he said "come on, at least make me an offer". He tried 2-3 times to change my mind about what I was shopping for and what I should spend. Jake was ignorant and unprofessional. Avoid this dealership. The prices are not fair, and you will be manipulated!! Carey Paul is close and the difference is like night and day! More
Avoid them like a plague just as others have described they change their offers so quickly. We went to look for 07 odyssey EX-L with dvd and leather, they offered us $29000 and we walked out. Next day sal they change their offers so quickly. We went to look for 07 odyssey EX-L with dvd and leather, they offered us $29000 and we walked out. Next day salesperson Tim Holey calls us and says we can offer $29000, we go in to dealership after 2 days, and Tim tells me to talk to this other sales guy since he is busy with other customer. We start haggeling prices again with new salesperson. Then sales guy go talks to his manager he comes and haggels price he give us $29005, then other manager comes and offers $29800 which is way high and we just walk out. Just avoid them. We came to find out later that these is their trick in getting customer back to dealership. They are LIARS, CHEATERS. Please spread the word around. More

I went thru their internet department so as to avoid haggling over price. Well, after reaching the dealership they made me wait while the salesman went to 'talk to the manager to get the best price for me' , then the manager comes and tries to haggle over the price. We couldn't agree on the sale price of the CR-V (even though we had finalized the price over the phone) and the trade-in value for my van. I come home disgusted not so much because of the lies but because of the amount of time they wasted going from one manager to another. The next day I get a call from the sales guy saying that the manager had agreed to the price that we discussed the previous day - I was skeptical but the salesman assured that the paperwork was ready and all I had to do is bring my trade-in , complete the paperwork and drive the new car home. No such luck - paperwork not ready, the manager comes in and starts giving new numbers and haggling all over again. AVOID THEM LIKE A PLAGUE!!!!! More
I drive 5hrs to this dealership because they were going to give me the deal that I wanted (I was given their assurance that they could do the deal that I wanted the previous day over the phone). Another re to give me the deal that I wanted (I was given their assurance that they could do the deal that I wanted the previous day over the phone). Another reason for driving this far was because they were going to disregard the mileage that I was over on my previous lease from them (I was about 20k miles over). When I get there I am imediately handed over to a floor salesman- who did not know what was agreed upon over the phone. So I had to explain things to him, and to make a long story short- they were going to increase my monthly payment, give me less for my car, and count the miles that I was over, all of which was negotiated over the phone the previous day. Naturally I was irate- after driving 5hrs thinking I was going to get the deal that they said they could give me, only to find out otherwise, not to mention dealing with someone that I did not even talk to on the phone when everything was worked out. So after raising cain for about 3hrs- I finally threatend to go to another Honda dealership and see what they would do, then they finally gave me what I wanted. All in all- I was upset for having driven so far only to be given the run around by someone that I did not talk to in the first place. Their prices were high, they tried the old bait and switch, the "tell them anything to get them here and then shaft them" routine, and they basically tried to completely go back on their word. I got what I wanted in the end, but I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE and I will not do business there again! More
I bought a car over there 2 month ago. Since the car has 100,000 miles on it, they refused to sell insurance to us. less than two month later, and I have driven less than 2000 miles, the car had a transmis 100,000 miles on it, they refused to sell insurance to us. less than two month later, and I have driven less than 2000 miles, the car had a transmission problem and I end up getting a new transmission for the car. I went to talk to them about the situation, they refuse to take any responsibility in a very bad manner. (quote ¡§go sue us if you want¡¨) The manager refused to see me after numerous visits and long-hour waiting. I used to think at a big place like that there should be some kind guarantee on the cars they sell, at least not to be broken within 3 months of purchase. Whoever is considering buying a car over there, make sure the car they are selling you has no major problems. More
