Took car in for check engine light and to replace a snap connector I broke. Came in early so could get diagnoses and car fixed next day (since they rarely offer loaners). Call that evening “they couldn’t connector I broke. Came in early so could get diagnoses and car fixed next day (since they rarely offer loaners). Call that evening “they couldn’t get to it”. Next day - no call! Had to track down service agent and he finally called back stating I need NEW ENGINE” Turns out car was still being diagnosed. Error code was CAM SENSOR fault (VW $229 for part - $21 at autozone) and snap connector(VW $210 for harness - connector is <$10) Total estimate $6,000: $2,600 for items already repaired in last 12 months and $140 oil change - even though oil was just changed, verified in good workin order, $2,000 for alternator job (which is not faulty and in good working order), $800 for dealer recommended maintenance items. Then when only authorizing repair that Inasked to diagnose (camshaft sensor), they gave guilt trip of “necessary repairs” and charged double for labor on sensor stating there was “overlap” from one of other items (The sensor is on top front of engine-no overlap) I got out for just under $300 and 3 1/2 days waiting for a 15 min part replacement. Last repair they performed for me, the mechanic failed to reinstall manifold bracket. NEVER AGAIN! DON’T TRUST THESE GUYS!
