I was looking for a newer and smaller Dodge Pickup truck. I saw some at Gurnee Dodge's website and drove out to look them over. I went back home and got my wife and we went back to the dealership. We met Mark and talked price. After some discussion we settled on the price WE offered on the 2008 Dakota and with Mitch's approval the deal was made. This was our fifth Dodge vehicle purchase and the most enjoyabe one. All the folks at Gurnee Dodge were a pleasure to work with. I have had the truck for 6 months now and am very happy with it. I had totaled my car, my husband and I were exhausted and tired of dealing with Slimy, rude and flat out obnoxious salesmen. We spotted a car on the internet and thought one last DITCH effort for today. As soon as we got there Mike was so sweet he got to know us and what we were looking for. They car they had pulled out he knew would not work. He said 'as long as you're honest and straight with me, I can help you.' We had heard that before, but something about him said Trust me. (Must be the eyes!) He walked around the lot with us tirelessly putting up with my husbands and my squabbling...He made us laugh and showed us everything we could afford..Unfortunately we(my husband and I) couldn't agree on ANY! We were just about to give up when my husband asked about a car that Mike HAD showed us. Of course Mike made a joke but took my husband out to look. I sat inside knowing that it was just going to be more bad news, almost in tears I watched my husband walk back in with a HUGE grin on his face...Mike worked his butt off to make the fully decked van in our budget and Voila! I was looking for a minivan with specific features, but wasn't thrilled about the prospect of still having to drive a minivan (kids are 7,7 and 12). I began with Robbie on Caravan test drives. The next day I came back, and since Robbie was with another customer, I ended up test driving a Town and Country with Mike. Mike showing me all the features of the car that I would have not known to even look for. The test drive was awesome. I was honest and told Mike I couldn't buy a car that day since I had not researched that model before coming in. I went home, built the car I wanted online and found out how much the dealers pay for the car. Then I found all the rebates and dealer incentives I was eligible for. I got a quote from another dealer online and went back to Gurnee the next business day. Mike didn't handle the negotiations, but told Robbie that he felt the manager needed to meet my quoted online price. They did meet my price, and gave me exactly what I wanted for my trade in. I had checked out the review of this dealer online before buying, and read some very poor reviews. My experience was completely opposite of what I had read. I think doing my homework before going in was the best approach. Mike encouraged me to do this and did not play games with me. The purchase was finished in less than 2 hours - and this included me leaving to go to the bank to get my down payment. I've had the car only three days - so cannot comment on the service department yet, but the buying process was easy. More
