Even the service However, the service from their service foreman PETE is horrific. Pete is the most unprofessional and displays such disrespect towards customers. I have had many Volkswagens throughout the years and have never received such horrible service until meeting with him. I wouldn't be surprised if he spoke to other customers the way he did to me. Telling me to "get out of his shop" due to damage on my car before picking it up at the dealership and blaming me for the damage directly when there is inspection paperwork of my car with only the minimal damage that was marked off that I came in with. He even had the nerve to call the cops on me because I asked to speak to someone higher up than him that could handle my situation way more professional than he did. I even had to walk home because I called corporate and they told me to leave my car there meanwhile Gunther took my rental and would not provide me with a rental because Pete told the tenant not to give me one. Overall, I think you can understand my extreme anger with this situation and how it was improperly handled. More

This evening our current leased Passat had an error with the air bag that went off two hours after their service department had closed. I went in to speak to the GM Robert Klein and was immediately taken care of by him personally. He went above and beyond to get me a loaner car to last us through the weekend as we were set to go out of town the next morning. I previously worked for a VW dealership in Orlando and never saw such professionalism and customer service as I have seen through this dealership. I would highly recommend this dealership, because witnessing a GM run around and do the dirty work to ensure a customer who isn't even buying a car is taken care of made a believer out of me that this staff is in good hands. I also highly recommend David Butterly in service, a former Marine like myself he has always taken great care of all of my vehicles and never tried to upsell things that are unneeded. Great dealership! I will be back for another in 12 months. More
Repair and service review About a month ago My husband and I went to Gunther VW because we had a problem with the car starting. We had it towed in and they said we needed a new battery. While we were there, we had them activate a new key for us, which they did, but now the old key suddenly doesn't work and the hatch stopped opening with the key. They told me that the key was old. Now this is a key that worked the day before when I brought it the car in. They told me the hatch was old and needed to be replaced, again another thing that was working fine the day before. I took it to another dealer up in Stuart and he said take it back there and tell them to activate he key, there is nothing wrong with it. I did this and the dip wad guy started arguing with me and they finally took the car back to check on it for 4 hours, they did nothing and even told me they washed it. What a joke! this place is a huge joke, with people you can't trust working there. I wouldn't give them one star for service! Idiots is the word that comes to mind! More
Volkswagen is just pumping cars out now, attention to quality on exterior and cabin quality is second to none but as far as the engine, drive train components and safety they are put in the back seat. I quality on exterior and cabin quality is second to none but as far as the engine, drive train components and safety they are put in the back seat. I had a problem arise with my 2010 Passat CC a leak sprang up in the radiator, the side was splitting. When I contacted VW Customer Care they offered to pay for parts as the warranty had just expired conveniently enough, however since I had the car in for a idiot light for the low water level prior to the expiration they met me halfway. When I tell you how much my portion was you wouldn't believe me. I paid the service ad went on my way. After a few days another problem cropped up, the wife was crossing a busy intersection and the car stalled which resulted in a near tragic accident. Of course it was now a fuel pump I would have to replace, VW met me half way graciously with this repair however if I told you what my half was you wouldn't believe me. A day or so later the car began shifting erratically and after calls to the service advisor I am now told that the transmission may need to be replaced, are you kidding me?! ANYWAY, at this point all of these issues that I am faced with are known issues with VW about their vehicals and if you dig around on the internet you will see many similar complaints relating to fuel pumps, transmission shifting, electronics and stalling issues and I will not recommend this dealer for their service dept as they're just taking shots fixing at the problems and in the process they are creating new ones along the way, but hey, thats the way we create our revenue stream, off our customer base, it's all about repeat service which is the number one revenue generator for a car dealership, fix one problem and create another and then deny all responsibility for being involved in creating another one, beware of this dealership and their service department and by all means look real close at VW and their complaints on the Internet before you buy one to begin with. Our service advisor was top notch, real concerned for our perdiciment and in my opinion to good a guy to work for this dealership. In the end this car ran like a top till their service dept played around with it fixing the radiator, now it is costing me an arm and a leg to fix things which in my opinion they created fumbling around in the engine compartment. I bought my 2010 golf from this Gunther Volkswagen. The sales were amazing. The service on the other hand, has a lot to be desired. I brought my car in several times for service and several times mention sales were amazing. The service on the other hand, has a lot to be desired. I brought my car in several times for service and several times mentioned a concern about a noise coming from the passenger side tire area. This last time I brought it in, it was finally addressed. But when I asked why it was not taken care of earlier, I was told that I had never said anything about it. Which is a lie. I also came in because my driver side visor had spontaneously fallen out of the ceiling. When I asked why that wasn't fixed, I was told again that I didn't say anything! Another lie. It is obvious to me that no safety inspection is being completed and that they care very little for their customers. Very disappointed. I would not buy another car from here and would advise others to do the same. More
I brought in my 2007 VW GTI several times since I purched it, due to suspected transmission problems. It was always "nothing found wrong". Finally in 2012 the transmission went totally out. I brought it into it, due to suspected transmission problems. It was always "nothing found wrong". Finally in 2012 the transmission went totally out. I brought it into the shop to be told that it would cost in excess of $5,900.00 to fix it and that it was OVER 60,000 MILES by 3000 miles and therefore not under warranty! I still owed $4,000.00 on this car, and had only owned it for about 4.5 years, when the transmission totally broke. Instead of standing behind their cars, I was told I HAD TO PAY FOR ALL THE REPAIR OUT OF POCKET. They said they called VW (HQ I presume) and that they offered $1,500.00 for it if I traded it in on a new car. I would have had to pay the balance on the loan of $4,000.00 presumably for the defunct VW GTI out of pocket as well. This is the WORST kind of support for their products, and basically I got stuck with a car that has chronic transmission problems which never were addressed while it was still under warranty. I ended up taking the car to a transmission specialist who had to basically replace everything but the casing as the transmission was a total loss. This cost me $4,300.00 for a car I still owed $4,000.00 on. I will never forget the heartless and hostile treatment I received at the hands of the service personnel and how they refused to help me when it was obvious the car had transmission problems from way back. They tried to make me think I was responsible for the condition of the car when it was totally obvious a car that new should not have transmission issues at all. I was advised by non dealer VW repair profeassionals that this car has chronically had this problem, also it's all over the net. The transmission is for both automatic and stick shift cars can you imagine that. The same mechanism! Needless to say its frought with problems and a nightmare to repair. I WILL NEVER BUY A VW AGAIN AND CAN ONLY PASS MY EXPERIENCE ON TO OTHER UNSUSPECTING BUYERS THAT ARE STILL UNDER THE ILLUSION THAT THIS IS A QUALITY PRODUCT THE COMPANY ACTUALLY SUPPORTS. I am looking to cars that have a 100,000 mile warranty or unlimited warranty while I own the car, and they are out there. Like the 100,000 mile warranty at Hyundai (I like the Elantra) and Kia or the dealer bonus unlimited warranty at Nissan. THIS LACK OF INTEGRITY AND FRAUDULENT DEALINGS HAVE CAUSED ME FINANCIAL HARM IN THE $1000'S AND PERSONAL STRESS AND LOSS OF ABILITY TO WORK UNTIL I RAISED OVER $4,000.00 INSTANTLY OR WROTE OFF MY CAR WHICH SUPPOSEDLY IS WORTH AROUND $12,000.00 FOR THE VW OFFER OF $1,500.00. THAT SHOULD TELL YOU WHAT THEY THINK THEIR CARS ARE REALLY WORTH! I AM TERMINALLY CURED OF THE ILLUSION OF THE "FAHRVERGNUEGEN". I will be sure to let everyone I know share in my discovery of the VW company now being just another ripoff waiting to happen. More
