We had an excellent experience purchasing our used care from Gunn Nissan and John Alvarez. I scored the Gunn dealership and Mr. Alvarez for Goods to Great and here's why. First, we learned from John that we could purchase any used car on any Gunn auto lot from Mr. Alvarez. This added a higher level of convenience because we could review the inventory of cars on the Gunn website and then notify Mr. Alvarez of our selection(s). If you like the sales representative then this is a winner system because it allows you to develop a relationship with that person and work with a central source for information. Next, I was not familiar with Gunn's "No Haggle" sales approach, much like Saturn introduced years ago. If you're like me, the haggling is the most annoying part of a car purchase so it was a pleasant surprise when Mr. Alvarez stopped me in mid-negotiation pitch. One last thing worth note. As I sat waiting to finalize the car purchase, a gentleman walked in to talk to Mr. Alvarez. Coincidentally, it was a person I've known for 25 years and respect very much, but never knew where he bought his cars. We talk a moment, discuss the coincidence of meeting there, and then he tells me he has bought six cars from Mr. Alvarez and Gunn Nissan. I had gone to a different dealer on the morning I bought my Maxima. The customer service at the first dealer was horrible and I walked out and drove straight to Gunn. Tyler greeted me in such a friendly manner,showed me several cars and drove a few of them until I found the one I felt comfortable with. He was very knowledgeable even tho, as he said, he had only been at the dealership for two weeks. The sales experience I had was very good (even if I was exhausted at the end of the day). Tyler followed thru with me for a couple of weeks to make sure everything was as it should be and that I was happy with my new car. It was a good experience. More
Very easy to purchase a car from this dealership. We went to several dealerships and Gunn Nissan was the cheapest and we didn't have to go back and forth to get the best deal. We bought three vehicles from John over a 30-month period and have nothing to say but good, great, superior about the sales experience. I am very satisfied with Tyler, the sales guy, on our used Nissan Murano. He was very polite and knowlegeable on everything i asked pertaining to the car and the other ones we looked at. The experience I had with Gunn Nissan was one that no one could ever have imagined. They even helped me get my car back and my deposit from IPAC after they offered me a much better car and price! The experience at IPAC trying to get my deposit, car and keys back was so awful. It was like a really bad video on I Tube, you just would never have beleived that managers could be so rude and threatening to a customer. Tyler had to call the police! In the end I got my car back from IPAC and my money and then got a new car and wonderful exemplary service at Gunn Nissan. This is the second car I have purchased from Nissan. They get 5 stars!! I will go back again and again every time I need a new car. They are so great I have had my new car for a week and their after purchase customer care is awesome! More

I gave the rating I did because the dealership did have great customer service and very friendly. Most of my questions that I could think of were answered. I purchased a new 2010 Nissan Sentra and within 2 weeks the car broke down. I had to be towed to the dealership. The service department informs me that many of the 2010 Sentra models have a defective batte the car broke down. I had to be towed to the dealership. The service department informs me that many of the 2010 Sentra models have a defective battery post connection. They did provide me a shop loaner car to drive for 2 weeks, because the part was on back order nation wide. After 2 weeks, I returned to the dealership at 8:30 am and was told it would be another 2 weeks. At 10:00 am the same day (after I sent a complaint letter to the Gunn General Manager), I received a call from the dealership telling me my car was ready. I drove to the dealership and found out they had used different a similar part to fix my car and not the exact part. Instead of installing a top battery post connection, they used a side mounted post connector. I return the loaner and looked inside my now 4 week old car and found the driver floor mat had been stained with shop grease. After complaining to the service manager and received no satisfaction, I went to the sales manager and she ordered me some new floor mats. The best part is the service manager told me that the tow service and the loaner was in "Good Will" and Nissan did not owe me these services, even if the car was new and the part was defective. He also said, "Nissan can not guarantee the problem won't reoccur and without an extended warranty, towing and a loaner may not be covered" I don't understand how a retail/service driven company can treat a customer, who has been buying Nissans since they were Datsun, with such disregard. We've been to dealership after dealership in the last few weeks trying to find a good deal on a full size truck. We've felt like we were dealing with con artists everywhere except at Gunn. They were excellent. Much better than the chevy dealership we bought our last truck at. More
