Nissan Team- In May of 2021 I purchased a 2021 Nissan Rogue. I purchased this vehicle at Fort Worth of Nissan. Prior to this purchase I had purchased 4 Nissan’s at Grubbs Nissan in Bedford Texas. When I Rogue. I purchased this vehicle at Fort Worth of Nissan. Prior to this purchase I had purchased 4 Nissan’s at Grubbs Nissan in Bedford Texas. When I purchased the 2021 Rogue I financed a 6 year tire warranty that according to it’s own wording the tire is covered under normal wear and tear and normal road hazards. On Monday May 2nd,2022 my low air pressure warning came on. I took my car to the Grubbs Nissan location as I live in Bedford and that location is very close to my home. The dealership determined the issue with my tire was that there was a nail in the sidewall of the tire so it could not be repaired. After about 15 minutes the advisor told me the replacement tire would be 312 dollars. I said I was confused because I have a tire warranty. The technician(Alexander Porter) said oh let me look for it. He came back and said after doing some research he found that I do have a warranty but he would need to call the warranty people the next day as it was after 5pm and they were closed. On Tuesday May 3rd the advisor called and said I do have coverage but there are two issues. 1) I would need to call the dealership I bought the car from to get a copy of my warranty and 2) the warranty only would cover up to 250 dollars for the 312- dollar tire. I called Fort Worth Nissan to obtain a copy of the warranty and told them what Grubbs Nissan had told me. I was told by Fort Worth Nissan that the information I was being given sounded incorrect. After forwarding Grubbs a copy of my warranty and confirming that there is no language that states the tire is only covered up to 250 dollar’s I received a third call from Grubbs saying they would not cover the tire because it was 312 and my coverage only covered 250. I then went to Grubbs Nissan in person and spoke to a service manager(Dan Tran) and he confirmed that the coverage was for 250 and he was not willing to cover the difference. I then asked him why he was willing to make me drive 30 miles from my home to get a tire replaced and he said I could drive 30 miles south, north, east or west as that was my choice but he would not cover the difference in cost. I asked why even though I was in a Nissan, financed my loan through Nissan and paid for a Nissan warranty he refused to back up his product and he said that agreement was made by another dealership and he did not have to honor their agreement (I was told when buying the warranty that the coverage was good as long as I took it to a Nissan dealership). He then told me to leave his dealership as there was nothing further to discuss. Fort Worth Nissan agreed to make good on the promise made by Nissan in my warranty and replace the tire. I have two questions for Nissan 1) Why are customers sold a warranty that says it will cover any tire repairs for 6 years but when the customer attempts to use the warranty they are told that coverage is only up to 250 dollars? 2) Why is Grubbs Nissan in Bedford Texas allowed to operate as a Nissan dealership but not expected to honor agreements made with Nissan and its partners? More
