Ruined my car, got taken on a new one. Brought my 2015 Lincoln MKX in for service. (Low oil pressure light.) Said they could repair, also "you need new spark plugs and the cooling system fl Brought my 2015 Lincoln MKX in for service. (Low oil pressure light.) Said they could repair, also "you need new spark plugs and the cooling system flushed." "Okay", I said. Next day, picked up the car, Billed $$1,270.00. Okay. Next day, warning light comes back on. Called the service department and informed them. It was the weekend, so I brought the car back on Monday. Spoke to Gus, who took my car in while I waited. Gus came back 30 minutes later. "The warning indicator sensor is probably bad. I have seen this before. It would cost about $150 to replace it. I would just ignore it. There's nothing wrong with your car, there's plenty of oil, the car will not blow up on you, it is safe to drive". Okay, I did what he suggested. I ignored the sensor warning. One week later, I'm driving on I-95. I start hearing a clanking of the engine. I drove right to the Grieco service department. They kept the car overnight. Next day I got a call telling me my engine has ceased. I would need a new engine. I was offered a used engine replacement for roughly $3,500 from Dan, the service manager. I told him i needed the evening to consider my options, considering the car had 104,000 miles on it. Went to meet him the next day and described the above events. He was not to accept any responsibility for the damage done by the advice I was given. I opted not to replace the engine, , therefore they offered me $1,000 for my car on a trade. Next day, I called to speak to the dealership manager, Louis Izquierdo. Left him a voicemail. Two days later, he returns my call. Through the phone call, I described the above events to me. Again, not taking any responsibility, he offered to help me in getting a trade on his lot. I agreed. Next day, went to sales. Met a nice gentleman who was to assist me. Considering i still owed $8,700 on the damaged Lincoln, the best fit for me would be a 2019 Escape, where there were incentives that could be used to bring the price down. I agreed on the escape. He said "I have a nice gray one". "Okay", I said. Thirty minutes later, he comes back. "Can't find the gray one, how about black". Reluctantly, I said "okay". He shows me the price and we worked on numbers, with me putting a $3,500 down payment. Never actually seeing the car. It was sent to detailing. Great. Done. I'm now sent to the finance person. Again, another nice gentleman. He manages to get me to reluctantly agree to purchase an extended warranty. "It's worth it, and it will only add $11 to your payment." "And, It comes with tire and wheel protection."Okay. Finally we're finished, and the car is ready, and I leave with the car and go home. Next day, I get into the car. I now notice that the car has over 3,800 miles on it. Oh yes, I signed the papers, and it's on them, but I was never told verbally by anyone that this was a used car. My fault, right? for being so stupid and naive. Took the "bullet", and accepted my fate. Two weeks later, I receive my finance statement from the bank. I now have a $37,000 loan, (GAP $900, Maintenance Package $2000, Service Contract $1,485, and "Tire and Wheel $485). Yep. More
