My wife and I were in the market to purchase a new vehicle. Our first stop was Gresham Subaru, as we had heard good things about Subaru SUV’s. Saleh was very helpful, filling us in on the advantages of the different models and taking us out for a couple of test drives. We were impressed, but my wife wanted to check out a different dealer to look at a Camry. The Camry was not as good as the Crosstrek and the Toyota dealership was not as pleasant to deal with as Subaru. We returned and spoke with Tracy (Saleh being with someone else). We ended up ordering the Crosstrek we wanted. The entire experience was surprisingly pleasant and we love our new SUV! More

Buying a car from a dealership is never pleasant, but Cassidy (sales) and Lance (Finance) were very personable and helpful. That said, I have a few tips. When you go in there, I would recommend 1) have your own financing. Although they will offer financing through a bank or credit union, dealerships make a finders fee/percentage off these finance agreements, so you will likely be able to find a better deal if you shop around before hand and cut out the middle man. Learned this late and had to do a quick refinance when I found a much better rate. 2) The price listed online is not the price they will try to put into the price proposal. Our Subaru apparently already had a "ceramic coating" and "pulse technology" installed on it. You would think since it was on the vehicle already and not able to be removed (similar to tires, or doors), these would be included in the price that was listed online. You would be wrong. The dealership attempted to add the costs of those things onto the price once we decided to purchase. And they will say "sorry we can't remove those from the car so there is nothing we can do and you'll have to pay the extra $2000+". This is just a negotiating ploy and you can negotiate those away or walk away. Just be prepared for it. Honestly, I talked to two friends of mine that recently purchased vehicles from other dealerships and this seems to be par for the course now and not specific to this dealership. Ultimately, this dealership has friendly people and it really does have good deals on their cars if you can avoid the add-on negotiating tactics. They also were very good about getting us out pretty quickly. Cassidy and Lance saved this from being a three star rating, which is what I would rate the average dealership experience. I would recommend it as much as I would recommend any other dealership. More
