In short, they didn't want to take the time to diagnose my car's problem and shuffled me out. I brought this to the attention of the owner who had a fella reach out and see if we could try again. We made an arrangement for the next week, but the problem got worse. When I asked if I could get it in sooner, the fella got mad and unleashed a string of text abuse. Toxic place. Avoid! More
I purchased my 2018 Sonata at the Gregory Hyundai in Highland Park, IL along with an "extended warranty". On December 22nd 2022 during the extreme cold and winter storm conditions, my vehicle did not Highland Park, IL along with an "extended warranty". On December 22nd 2022 during the extreme cold and winter storm conditions, my vehicle did not turn on. It was 7 pm, the only towing company willing to tow my vehicle would do so to the nearest Hyundai Dealer (Glenview, IL, 2 miles away from my location). According to the Glenview Hyundai Dealer and Horizon, the extended warranty company, it is common practice under unusual circumstances for the warranty-selling Dealer to authorize the repair at a different Hyundai Dealer. When the Gregory Dealer was contacted by both the Glenview Dealer and myself, they refused to authorize the repair. Their reason was that my car was not towed all the way to their location in Highland Park to be repaired. On December 30th, I personally went to the Gregory Hyundai Dealer to ask the manager to authorize the repair. He told me to write an email to Mr. Gregory Mauro, the owner of the Dealer, on vacation at the time. To date, I am yet to receive a response. I ended up having to pay the $1,000 repair myself although it should be 100% covered by the "extended warranty". What is the purpose of purchasing one when you can't use it, even within the same company??? The Gregory Hyundai Dealer in Highland Park, IL is excellent at selling cars and additional services, but provides horrible after-sales customer services. The only reason for giving them ONE star is so I could write this review. STAY AWAY FROM THIS DEALER More

How I Felt After Getting Exceptional Service I came in with a band that had dragged off the bottom of my car. After our discussion John got behind the wheel of my car and we went out for a drive in the neighborhood with John explaining to me what could not have caused the problem. He was courteous and friendly in his explanation making sure that he did not demean my knowledge but rather as a friendly teacher enlightening me to the probable cause of the problem. He drove us back to the dealership and raised my car to ensure that he was correct in his evaluation. He explained my options and was friendly and thoughtful at all times. I felt that I was being treated as a friend more than just a customer. He told me to take a seat in the waiting room and when he called me back, he had reattached the band on the car and told me that we should keep on eye on this problem. I cannot find the words to express how well I was treated. He treated me more like family than just a customer as I have seen him treat others at the dealership More

My car 2011 Hyundai Elantra was under extended warranty, but they did not obtain repair confirmation, sent me repair bill to pay and convinced me to communicate almost 45 days (phone calls, email, fax) with warranty provider in order to provide coverage. Warranty provider paid in full, but was very curios what personnel Greg Hyundai have, which don't know simple procedures. Bad bad service. Boris More
