Gregory Hyundai has earned their shady reputation. I tried giving them a chance and regretted it. I recently had the unfortunate experience of purchasing a used Toyota Tacoma from Gregory Hyundai. I tried giving them a chance and regretted it. I recently had the unfortunate experience of purchasing a used Toyota Tacoma from Gregory Hyundai. I wanted it because it seemed to be in pretty good condition and it had low mileage, and to make my fiancée happy. I did some research into comparable Tacomas and the price seemed a bit high. I managed to negotiate it down a bit by about $300, but the salesman assured me that dealerships are “putting their best foot forward” in their prices and that they couldn’t go any lower. Well, after purchasing the truck I decided to take it in for service at a certified Toyota dealer where they appraised the truck for about $6000 less than what we paid for it. The Gregory Hyundai dealer had also assured me that their prices “are set by AI”, as if that is supposed to mean anything. Don’t be fooled by that line, it’s a gimmick to trick people who don’t know any better. To make matters worse, just a week after the purchase, I discovered that the axle boot needed repair. This is something any reputable dealer would have fixed before selling the vehicle or, at the very least, disclosed to the buyer. But not Gregory Hyundai. They chose to hide this critical information, leaving me with an unexpected and very expensive repair job right off the bat. The lack of transparency and honesty is appalling. It’s clear that Gregory Hyundai is only interested in their bottom line, with zero regard for their customers’ satisfaction or safety. If you're considering buying a car from this dealership, do yourself a favor and look elsewhere. There are plenty of honest dealers out there – Gregory Hyundai is not one of them. Save your time, money, and peace of mind by steering clear of this place. Congratulations on scamming me, guys. Hope it was worth it. Oh, and I had ChatGPT help me write this review since I know you guys like AI so much. Update: Two major red flags: (1) Now they are starting a fight with me on Google reviews and telling just that I am wrong. Also all the service is a plus, but that is to be expected when selling a car. It is not a bonus. Plus I was given a copy of the service history and no oil change was done. (2) They are publicly advertising what we paid for the vehicle, which should be kept private. This is very unprofessional. If you had reached out to me privately, I would have been willing to change or take down my review. More

You will have to eat them and thank the staff for the privilege. It's a police station, and you are the suspect: We'll ask the questions! In short, they didn't want to take the time to diagnose my car's problem and shuffled me out. I brought this to the attention of the owner who had a fella reach out and see if we could try again. We made an arrangement for the next week, but the problem got worse. When I asked if I could get it in sooner, the fella got mad and unleashed a string of text abuse. Toxic place. Avoid! More

This dealer is a bunch of liars. Don't ever deal with Grant Gaither or this dealer if you want to be happy and satisfied on what you buy. He promised to match the price from Patrick Don't ever deal with Grant Gaither or this dealer if you want to be happy and satisfied on what you buy. He promised to match the price from Patrick Hyundai but after signature and documentation, nothing was given. No discount or price match was followed. No wonder there were few customers complaining when I got there. I should known that before i purchased a car there. His Manager Tony was also a liar and can not keep his word. Definitely , I will not go back in this dealer again. I dont recommend this dealer. Better you go to Libertyville Hyundai or at Patrick Hyundai. They will keep the price based on their words and price quote. They also have better discount with good customer service. They are very transparent on documentation before you sign in which they will explained it to you the total price, discounts and extra fees from taxes to the packages. Where in Gregory Hyundai, no transparency and full of lies. Watch out and don't fall into their traps. Grant will say bad stuff that about Libertyville Hyundai that will charge you bunch of stuff afterward. That's not true, I experienced it the other way around. I dont know how they keep Gregory Hyundai reviews but my experienced was really horrible on this dealer. I should rate them negative for lying! More
First time car buying experience was great with Niko and Greg. Very upfront with add ons and pricing, incentives, and promotions. I purchased my 2018 Sonata at the Gregory Hyundai in Highland Park, IL along with an "extended warranty". On December 22nd 2022 during the extreme cold and winter storm conditions, my vehicle did not Highland Park, IL along with an "extended warranty". On December 22nd 2022 during the extreme cold and winter storm conditions, my vehicle did not turn on. It was 7 pm, the only towing company willing to tow my vehicle would do so to the nearest Hyundai Dealer (Glenview, IL, 2 miles away from my location). According to the Glenview Hyundai Dealer and Horizon, the extended warranty company, it is common practice under unusual circumstances for the warranty-selling Dealer to authorize the repair at a different Hyundai Dealer. When the Gregory Dealer was contacted by both the Glenview Dealer and myself, they refused to authorize the repair. Their reason was that my car was not towed all the way to their location in Highland Park to be repaired. On December 30th, I personally went to the Gregory Hyundai Dealer to ask the manager to authorize the repair. He told me to write an email to Mr. Gregory Mauro, the owner of the Dealer, on vacation at the time. To date, I am yet to receive a response. I ended up having to pay the $1,000 repair myself although it should be 100% covered by the "extended warranty". What is the purpose of purchasing one when you can't use it, even within the same company??? The Gregory Hyundai Dealer in Highland Park, IL is excellent at selling cars and additional services, but provides horrible after-sales customer services. The only reason for giving them ONE star is so I could write this review. STAY AWAY FROM THIS DEALER More
